Since this video is getting more popular, I feel like I should point some things out: Credits: Piano guy: Aidan Day Middle guy: Me (I was the one to suggest to the group that we play banana man) Guitar Guy: Owen Sterner (His idea to participate in the competition in the first place) Fun Facts: We only practiced for about 15-20 minutes total before going on stage. The majority of what you see is improv. This was our schools first ever lip sync battle. After this, they made a rule called the Jason rule, in which you're not allowed to throw things into the audience. I personally find this hilarious. Owen was using my old broken guitar. The strap had to be taped on a few minutes before showtime. "Jason and the Ukuleles" began as an inside joke between Owen and I. It was originally a fictitious Acapella group. The competition had a strict time limit of 4 minutes. The song is 4:10, so I had to make a *slightly* shorter version that fades out more quickly, viewable here: ua-cam.com/video/jiLGGiB4GFI/v-deo.html Thanks for watching! I read all comments. Feel free to ask questions.
1. Did you guys ask and get permission to toss bananas in to the crowd? Or was that ad libbed too? 2. Did anyone get hurt in the crowd? I'm hoping not (the janitor was probably pissed) I'm surprised they let you guys win, let alone didn't disqualify you guys. Most schools would be too uptight to let this much monkey business fly, but after such a strong performance, I don't think the crowd would allow you to lose! I'm glad the judges gave this memory the happy ending it deserved :) Also, the fact they named the rule after the hypothetical Jason, so proud of him 👏
