No no. No no no no no… why does it fucking work? Why? But Neil does funky silly songs. And tally hall is existential funky. Why does it work, I can’t recover.
When I was a child, Neil Cicierega shaped my childhood with Harry Potter Puppet Pals. Months ago, I was exposed to Weezer through Buddy Holly memes. One week ago I started listening to Tally Hall genuinely, something more than having written a song from a meme. I've spent the last week of my life hyperfixated on Neil for no good reason. I found your comment and wrote this at the peak of an edible on my first day taking antidepressants. I move onward with my life.

I first found tally hall about 3 years ago during lunch when I asked my friend what he was listening to. He showed me his Spotify and it was a band I hadn’t heard of called Tally Hall. I looked them up when I got home, and instantly fell in love
the whistling on hymn for a scarecrow is in fact incredibly important; also turn the lights off went viral on tumblr a few years ago because it was used in a five nights at freddy's animatic, so it was definitely big before tiktok
It would be incredibly neat if the next tally hall album starts with a music box rendition of 13 to give a reference to it's recent unprecedented spike in popularity.

Honestly, I didn't know Tally Hall's music. I watched your previous video "The elaborate story behind the Shia LaBeouf live" and I learned a lot about Rob Cantor. This new video about Tally Hall is perfect for people like me who is learning about the band for the first time. The first song I was introduced to was Turn The Lights Off. I think that was in 2015? Maybe? I don’t even remember where I heard it from. I was also listening to Marianna’s Trench, I loved a lot of their songs.
I liked Tally Hall before it was cool...but then I was happy it started to get popular so I could actually enjoy it with other people lol. I was not a trend setter, just a hipster.
I personally think that Tally Hall is one of the coolest bands ever mainly because a lot of their songs cover deep complex topics that have great beats, vocals, and music videos to go with it. Even one of their (arguably) weirdest song, banana man, talks about a deeper topic. I just love it so much and want more music from them, but after finding out that two of them are doctors and one has a kid I don’t think it will happen but I am less sad now knowing that the members are all doing well and I hope are happy still what could have been?
Love that I came across this. My Tally Hall experience was discovering Banana Man on UA-cam a few years ago and falling absolutely in love, listening to the rest of their work afterwards. Tally Hall became one of my most favorite bands quite recently and this is probably the best video explaining them that I could find. It's short, simple, and it keeps my attention throughout the video. The editing and timing of the music was great as well. 10/10 video
I found Tally Hall through a UA-cam animator (forget their username), and I’m so glad I did I still haven’t gotten around to most of their songs, but I know Turn The Lights Off, Ruler of Everything, Misery Fell, &, and The Mind Electric and they all make me so happy Thanks for this video, I usually feel bad because I’ll be a huge fan of a band like AJR or whatever but know nothing about them

I've always been intrigued by the band because of my proximity to them. I live less than 10 minutes away from Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum which was really nice a couple years ago, but it's now more or less an arcade with only some of the personality it once had.
I believe the reason (or one of the reasons) why Good & Evil was delayed so much is because Atlantic didn’t want them to release the album when it was finished. Probably due to monetary concerns
I love this video because it very well explains the roles of each Tally Hall member Especially by saying Rob is the frontman and Bora is the most important member (and a "loveable scamp")
I can't remember exactly where and what, but in a video where two members of tally hall (I wanna say Andrew and rob?) Spoke to eachother for a charity fundraiser or something said that they should 'play together again when they're all really old.' doesn't promise anything, but I thought it was something cool to think about. Whether tally hall comes back or not, Ill still love all of their musics.
there actually were youtube videos based for the top three songs you mentioned. i found tallyhall through a five nights at freddy's video in maybe 2014, for turn the lights off, and found the two others out of said top three through youtube videos as well. tiktok did play a massive part in sharing their music but not in a way that lasted like youtube's impact. in short, tiktok reaches a wider range for a briefer period. also, i had no idea joe did hawaii pt2, that's one thing i found from tiktok relating to them lol. its very neat seeing how they spread all over the internet in different ways and still make a dent

Is it still around?
Last time I was in the area it was still in business, but that was about a year ago now
I just learned from family still in the area that it's recently moved, but still open in its new location
@@nyxian6207 cool
Man I feel old it’s been roughly 17 years now
I've always been intrigued by the band because of my proximity to them. I live less than 10 minutes away from Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum which was really nice a couple years ago, but it's now more or less an arcade with only some of the personality it once had.
the fact that we don't have the bathroom picture :(
i like the grim fandango background music
Grim is my favorite game and it has a fantastic soundtrack
Wow, in only 13 minutes you got so much! Even smaller things. This definitely one of my top Tally Hall videos now. Great work
I believe the reason (or one of the reasons) why Good & Evil was delayed so much is because Atlantic didn’t want them to release the album when it was finished. Probably due to monetary concerns
I love this video because it very well explains the roles of each Tally Hall member
Especially by saying Rob is the frontman and Bora is the most important member (and a "loveable scamp")
This was awesome! So glad to see Tally Hall have discussion pieces arise lately- warms my heart lol. I'd love to see one of these on Ween
Rob has done work for Disney recently including the soundtracks of multiple shows like T.O.T.S.
Tally Hall, before it disbanded, actually provided music and songs for a Disney Jr. Show called Happy Monster Band, as well!
I remember Happy Monster band and I didn't know Tally Hall was involved in that project
I like how this video is exactly 13 minutes long. A fun little Easter egg.
the ending would be such a great transiition into ruler of everything...
there actually were youtube videos based for the top three songs you mentioned. i found tallyhall through a five nights at freddy's video in maybe 2014, for turn the lights off, and found the two others out of said top three through youtube videos as well. tiktok did play a massive part in sharing their music but not in a way that lasted like youtube's impact. in short, tiktok reaches a wider range for a briefer period.
also, i had no idea joe did hawaii pt2, that's one thing i found from tiktok relating to them lol. its very neat seeing how they spread all over the internet in different ways and still make a dent
we love to see it :)
im not a big fan of tiktok although i was very excited seeing tally hall go viral since ruler of everything was one of my favorite at that time
"If you have a fantasy of being a queen, you should blow a couple bucks on me" is such a good lyric
Dude how do you just happen to make videos on my favorite artists you're the greatest youtuber ever
Thank you for the video. I'm a fan of Tally Hall. I still watch everything about them in the internet. I really like your summary about the band .
Yes, another video on my favorite band, I'll eat any content even semi-related, but damn this one is well made and really captivating! Good stuff
Love Tally Hall but didn't know any of this, great video thanks so much!! The background music was really really nice to hear! Set the mood perfectly & subtley :)
