In this video, I want to share how I deal with the darkest season in Finland.
How to create a cozy home and hygge moments.

Brioche Bun Recipe
2 tsp dry yeast
270 ml of milk
800 ml flour
1 egg
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp soften butter
To golden; 1 egg
Instructions:
1. Put dry yeast in a bowl and add a tbsp of warm water. Leave it to rest for 10 mins at room temperature.
2. Add milk, flour, egg, sugar, and salt. Knead for 10 minutes
3. Add softened butter and knead for 10 mins
4. Cover with tablecloth and leave to rest for 2 hours at room temperature.
5. Remove the tablecloth and wrap the bowl with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 12 hours.
6. Degas by applying some pressure on ut and take the air out.
7. Make ball weighing 4 ounces (115grams)
8. Put the balls in a greased mold. Put the mould in a warm place and leave to swell for 2 hours.
9. Preheat the oven 320°F ( 160°C). Add a small container with some water in teh oven.
10. Once swollen, brush the dough with the beaten egg.
11. Bake for 25 mins at 320°F.

I really can't imagine so few hour of sunshine. Part of me yearns for it.
I'm American living in Los Angeles, we get a lot of warm sun, but I'm learning to adopt hygge decor in my home. Life is so fast here, so hygge teaches me to slow down and enjoy the simplicity. I hope to visit Finland / Denmark some day and experience your dark days and try real hygge there!

I too don’t use overhead lighting. I love little accents of low lighting in different areas. I find it so much cozier and easier on the eyes.
