Max 360 MkII with current FW as of March 2024. It does have MestaFusion capability. I've had the same issue with the PSL not showing once or twice, a reboot of the app fixed it. Still annoying, but not a dealbreaker for ME.
Most annoying is that the app has to be actively running all the time and that it is super resource/power hungry!
Otherwise I love it. Definitely the quietest detector I've ever had by far! So much that I sometimes wonder if it is still working, but then it proves that it certainly is! Big upgrade from the Max 3, which was a big upgrade from my 9500ix. I LOVE the arrows and cant believe I went so long without them!
I have the Max 360 C Mk 2 with Wi-Fi and it’s a very quiet detector. Rarely, if ever, falses on K band including BSM and door openers. It’s that quiet. Long range detection is decent. Not R7 class, but not far off either. Much quieter than every Uniden I own. It’s not M3 range, but it’s no slouch. One thing, Escorts mag mounts are by far the best of any manufacturer,by far. Much better than V1 and Uniden.
I was torn between the Max 360 MK II and the Uniden R7... I ended up going with the R7 as I couldn't justify the additional $170 for the escort. The R7 is a huge upgrade from my old Escort Passport 8500 X50.
Literally the same spot I’m in even the same 8500 x50! I’ve been bouncing around between the r3/r4 and the r7/r8 trying to decide if it’s worth the jump up for the arrows considering my daily commute is almost a straight shot both ways. Haven’t really considered escort this go around since I’ve heard about all the problems with the new hardware. Would you say the jump up to the arrows was worth it?
Gross, I would have personally went R3/4 if on a budget but I suppose you've never used 3rd party apps with your detector: I will never go back

Spender = R8/V1 Gen2 (fuck Radenso and their vaporware, I sold my DS1 on principal once the R8 got BT turned on)
I recently got arrows and I cant believe I went so long without them. Definitely a fan personally. It just provides more SA.

All 4 K. 2, 5, 8 of Ka, maybe 6, Maybe 4 depending on where you drive. Thats the gist I got. I drive in NC and SC and run 2, 5, 6 ,8 Ka, and all 4 segments of K even though I cant even remember the last time Ive seen a legit K band threat. With TSR ON, and K Notch ON. Only because K isnt a big threat where I drive.
It all depends on where you drive!
But in general factory settings should work well enough.
Hello Sir! I have recently purchased the Escort Max 360 MK 2 (NOT the wi-fi version) and saw this video with your thoughts on the unit. I was wondering if you already have or will post a video on the best way to set it up for So California driving in a sports car group. We are very conservative in our driving as we are all older but still would like to be cautious. I noticed several years back you did a whole set up procedure with the Max 360c Mk 2 (wi-fi version) using the cell phone to change settings but now they have a newer app (which I have not used yet) called "Drive Smarter". Would you mind directing me to a setup video on the 360 Mk 2 if you have already done one and if not would be so kind as to create one for all of us that have purchased this unit. Your videos and knowledge are unmatched when it comes to this subject. Thank You!

Still have the Max 360 used with my R3 in my daily driver. I don’t run K band on my R3 but on the Max 360 and used the Arrows for direction of the radar. Not sure I am going update yet with Escort but may buy another Uniden R7 i have in my other car. Plus escort prices in are getting outrageous.

What cable and wall plug do I need to use to plug it in inside cause it’s easier if I update the 360c inside my home but all the cables I’ve used says low voltage

Love Escort and the Mark II, but that Max360 camera model, i had that briefly, its ridiculously large, i felt like i had a casserole dish under my rearview mirror, awful lol
I don’t even think about Escort as a potential option any more. Much better detectors to consider. I have the Original Redline and have turned the Kband off, but run the R3 full time.

I just got my max 360 mk 2 on 7/6/23. when I go to update the firmware .. it said it does not detect device. Has Escort NOT update its program so I can down load the latest firmware ( 1.4 ) ?
Can't see myself going with escort anymore. I run two uniden radars in two other cars and I just need to update it in my truck since I still have the max 360
Another improvement that i didnt hear you mention maybe i missed it. But, The MKII has an OLED screen as opposed to LED. That can absolutely contribute to the extra $100
They all use the exact same OLED display. Escort hasn’t used LED since the days of the 9500ix and original Redline.
At 9:54 when you swap between both detectors right at the bottom it says display type. Max 360 days LED and 360 MKII says OLED. You may be right but just made an observation on your video. Thanks for the swift response vortex. Any new on the new theia that may have?

Regarding Theia, I've done a few videos on that recently, especially after they announced Theia 2. At this point though, it's a big meh with the endless delays and I think it's time for us to all move on.
I’d like to see an updated review with firmware v 1.4 that was released on 7/10/23.
I have my new Max 360 MKII connected along with my Max 360. I’ve set them up similar to each other. The MKII seems much more sensitive so far. This is day one.
ive had ZERO false alerts on my new MKII with v 1.4... coming from a Valentine G2 that did nothing but go off nonstop always...
Did I miss the part where they have new serial numbers possibly new hardware?
What about with the dash cam? The Max360 with the dash cam? Is that the new Max360 or the old Max360?

I still have an old red line but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working correctly so I haven't been using It... I was just curious out of all the radar detectors that you have tested for a regional truck driver in North Dakota area. What would you recommend being the best??
If you can get it fixed and not run K band, the OG Redline is still a fantastic unit. Still one of the best of the best, even 16 years later.

This is a really dumb question, but I want to be certain: I'm shopping for a unit to use on a motorcycle. Valentine's web site states specifically that the V1 can be used on a motorcycle via Bluetooth to a phone then to a helmet, buds, etc. I can't find anything on Escort's site that indicates this. I can only assume that their Bluetooth and app permits it. Once I decide on a model, powering and mounting on a '23 BMW R1250RS will be my next concerns.

I think the original 360 is best, given these reasons: sharp and clear OLED display, and big accessible mute button.

I just bought my MKII 360 and i know what you mean about the speed limit not showing up, its alerting for red light cams and other things but the speed limit is blank, then it will randomly appear so i dont think its a GPS issue but a bug for sure, also just upgraded to the latest firmware thinking that would fix and it didnt... more of a annoyance than anything else...
Same. Just an annoyance IMHO. Rebooting the app and maybe having to power cycle the RD has worked for me. Annoying but not a deal breaker. Esp. annoying for this price.
Have the Escort Max 360c MK ll, latest firmware 1.3 has helped a little but responding to Instant--On radar is still an issue and the probably aren't coming out with a fix because with affect the detectors filtering and cause more falsing? Its the quietest radar detector I've owned to date but that's also the radar detectors weakness. Escort Max 360 Mk II will probably have the same flaws?
It is so quiet I sometimes wonder if it is broken! But then it works when I need it to, and extremely well!

There was supply chain issue up until just recently so they had no choice but to go with Micro. Constraints on Type C are easing but that would have delayed launch had they spec'd it originally.

I installed this radar detector today and replaced my Max 360. I hooked it up to my Mac computer and downloaded the software on their website for this unit. It detected my unit and erased the firmware and downloaded and installed a new firmware. Said everything went well and last upgrade was today. When I put it back in my truck and connected to the app it still says version 1.0 and not 1.4. They say that 1.4 is the most current firmware on their website. Tried to upgrade twice with the exact same results. The software I downloaded is the correct one listed. Any thoughts?

Can you connect the WiFi radar to iPhone hotspot?

I just received one today for my weekend car(no wifi) that sits in the garage mostly. I handed down an old Passport Max to my Son and used his OLD 9500ix as a trade to get $80 off. My highway cruiser is equipped with V1G2 running two androids with Waze/JBV1 and Highway Radar as well as TMG 15. The joke will be on my Son because every time he opens his Iphone while driving the old Passport Max false alerts Laser.🤣
Am I correct in assuming the Max 360 MkII is the exact same as a Max360c MkII with no WiFi and a MaxCam 360c without the Cam and WiFi? Sorry if this is an obvious question.
And are there any advantages to these models over the RL360c or is the RL superior all around?
Essentially yeah, though the MaxCam lags behind in updates. The Redline has longer range and RDD immunity.
I just spend hours making a spreadsheet with their ambiguous specs trying to determine that i really can't even tell. The redline with the new hardware revisions still seems to be far superior to both of the others. Has Multiple Laser Sensor Diodes, 3 Antennas VS 2, Proprietary stealth tec, has the synthesized VCO, and the blackfin 706 DSP. The Mark II doesn't have any of that, only two antennas, two LNAs or one maybe it's not specified, only two antennas, no stealth, the blackfin DSP version isn't specified so that could be good or bad, the K band is a little weird vs the Cam and the redline too, slightly higher frequency and less margin of error so basically still falls in the same range regardless, the Redline still has really shitty old B/G wifi though and less display features. But then the big one- The "M13 Platform" which they claim provides "50% more range and sensitivity" though 50% more compared to what they don't say, and they don't say if the redline and or the cam also have this "M13 Platform". So it comes down to that. If its marketing BS the redline is for sure still the absolute best, but if it is some new significant tech that is only in the Mark II, then it potentially could have way more range and better sensitivity, and it might even have a higher more advances Blackfin DSP than the Cam or the Redline, it doesn't specify. They basically just provide enough information to make it absolutely impossible to distinguish which model they actually used their latest most advanced tech in which is infuriating when you are trying to upgrade and spend $700-$800 and want to get the best detector they make. I still have no clue honestly. If the M13 nonsense is just marketing BS and the range didn't get a huge increase the others didn't then I will def be going with the Cam since i don't need stealth and its neck and neck wit the redline for everything else so might as well get the integrated camera and g-shock and other safety features that connect to my whole system since everyhint is integrated with the head unit. Until they give me real specs or someone has a clue and tells me or i see the actual real world results tho they aren't getting my money. I already fell for that Wifi BS and paid an extra $200 or wte to get worthless wifi functionality lol If it auto updated the firmware that would be one thing but if i have to do it manually by pushing buttons on it when i could plug it into my computer and update it in less than 30 seconds, they can keep that. It adds zero functionality that you don't get with Bluetooth and the app especially now that it is on Carplay so the app will always be able to run in the background on the iphone when on carplay and update everything on the detector through Bluetooth so the wifi is worthless unless you like fighting with it pushing buttons to upgrade the firmware instead of just plugging it in for 2 mins and opening the software and having it done with no hassle or games within minutes if not less.

It is hot or miss w m rl u know it’s gonna connect when it says scanning for devices. Then ur usually good. Good app for filtering and shutting bands on and off plus keeps records of when uve run into different sources on a map.
Where I live, I have noticed police are using some sort of binoculars that are invisible to my Escort 360c. I have the latest database updates and firmware update. Anyone know what those binoculars are?

@@VortexRadar it may say on paper its "better" but in my experience using it was a mess, it seemed to be delayed with getting alerts, it would get them just a bit delayed, the best detector i have ever owned and ive tried them all is the max 360c, just had a valentine g2 and it was the WORST i have ever owned...
I really don't understand why they name their radars with similar names to confused customers. They should have put pro or plus on some of the models.

@@VortexRadar Sorry (Jammer)? I have a RMR C 495 for 3yrs no problems in excellent shape but i want to update, what would you suggest?? False advertisement there is no scrambler in the 495 unit, the lights are not soldered to anything. No big deal. Love your vids.. Will stay away from RMR.

Believe it or not drive smarter app isn’t too bad. Doesn’t connect to Bluetooth consistently but getting better.
Have you updated your app? It was working fine for me earlier today, but after updating to the latest version that just came out for iOS, I'm no longer able to see any of my detector's settings.

After paying $500 for my max 360 mk1 compared to my v1g2 at the same price the escort is junk. I don't trust it. Got tickets with it

Escort sucks all round now. The prices are exorbitant up front, then they have the gall to charge you a fee to use their 'service', that nobody actually uses and therefore the community sourced data doesn't exist outside major urban centres. Awful.
Well the original RedLine OG 15 year's ago give or take was a beast back in it's day but alot of stuff has changed since then!!! I now run the R4 and love it for less then $400 buck's you get extremely long-range detection and a very fast one @ that if I was going to buy any detector these days it would be a R8 just my opinion escort is not what it was 10 + years ago give or take.
