TIP ONE: Angle your shoulders! Whenever we have two of one body part of viewers eye gets trapped in the space in between which makes you look wider than you actually are. If you can’t position your body to a 45° angle just try moving your shoulder slightly.
TIP TWO: Carry the sub! If you feel self-conscious about the width of your arms, tryout this old hack, the photographers have been doing for decades called “carry the sub.” Imagine you’re carrying a subway sandwich and it keeps getting larger and larger. Then rest your hands to your sides.
TIP THREE: Push your chin forward! There’s nothing natural about taking photos, so people tend to get nervous until they head backward, which gives the illusion of a softer draw line. To make your jawline appear sharper, push your forehead toward the camera to create extra space between your chin and neck.
TIP FOUR: Angle your head! We all have asymmetrical faces, so angle your face or tilt your head so your favorite side is showing.
TIP FIVE: Master your smile! Instead of saying “Cheese!” say “Money,” “Yoga,” or “Hey” for a perfect smile.
