Nice video and good music choice - neither too hoaky nor obnoxious metal. When I was a kid (60's) they dug a new reservior up the road from my house - a three year steady stream of tandem dumps. Mostly Macks, Fords and Autocars. My friends and I decided that the Autocars were the coolest.
WOW, the autocar semis from the beginning looks as good as a pete. Too bad they are so rare! the most common ones u see are the long nosed military fendered beasts and they are becoming scarce. Good pics!
My best friend's father drove AutoCar. In the early 70's, he'd be hauling logs coming down off the hill into town with his big Fire engine red Autocar (real big nice looking Powerhouse of a Truck, and the Truck even looked tough!) right by the school and man' that jake brake would rule the moment! The teachers would always be looking out the window as it was so loud. We knew whose truck it was, but the teachers didn't know. And so of course I'm partial to the AutoCar!
has anyone noticed how the autocars in this video bear resemblence to the green goblin truck from Maximum overdrive? like the cab/hood looks to be the same shape.same windsheild design..similar fenders...although the white western stars looked alot like that as well..just a thought...beautiful trucks! long live autocar!
My old man always said that if you wanted a heavy duty truck, you bought a Peterbilt. If you wanted an extra-heavy duty truck, you bought an Autocar. Great video.
@Diodorus79 i know its sad hopefully thay will go back to making trucks like thay used to insted of fire trucks or garbage ect. but glad u liked the pics :)
@INTIMIDATOR3FAN Nope thay where never ownd by Paccar. Thay where ownd by White then Volvo took over. GVW Holding acquired Autocar in 2001 who now makes garbge trucks and yard tugs and cranes. Paccar for those who dont know has Peterbilt Kenworth Daf thay also made Leyland Trucks and Foden Trucks
