Last year i decided to hunt down these figures mint on card. I completed the set and all of them are graded by AFA or CAS. All unpunched. Great video. This line is so underrated and getting harder to find.
Great video! Congrats on getting these! I was in the same boat as you. I had all the original line but it kinda bothered me to not have these. So I finally bit the bullet a year ago and picked them up. I still love having them. They're just so unique. And after over 30 years of collecting, it was really cool to pick up genuine new Kenner figures again. Enjoy them! (And good luck on Droids if you choose to go for them too 😉)
They look so minty! I wouldn't be too bothered about the initial on the feet. I've never actually seen anyone do a close up review of these figures, so for that I applaud you.
Other than the initials, they are minty. I'm super stoked! Really? No one has done the whole set before?! That simply can't be. Either way, I had to share with you all :)
That's so awesome that you scored the whole set in one swoop! I've managed to get the four non-ewok characters over the years but sadly haven't managed to pick up either Wicket or Logray......
I love them, I get why they have their tractors. However, when I was just getting old enough to play with action, figures, these were what was still on the shelf. I love you I’m wicket and Logray as a child.
You can get the R mark off the bottom of wicket’s foot by using a dry erase marker……trace it let it sit for about 30 seconds and wipe it off. It may take several tries if it has been on there for many years.
A dry erase marker? So you're suggesting I use a marker to remove marker? Huh. LOL. I've gotten multiple suggestions on this video. The trace and wipe method I get.. but what exactly is the product? Where can I find that? And also, does it eat away at the plastic? Thanks, Sir.
You can get the expo dry erase markers at dollar general or dollar tree or the 99 cents store or Walmart or target or office depot. It works best if you try to match the strokes (like in painting) with the original permanent marker that is already on the figure. It will not take off the paint….other chemicals like lighter fluid or something may damage the plastic or paint dry erase markers don’t damage it. You will need to experiment with it ….I use green or black dry erase markers those seem to work well…..however it may need to apply more than one coat let it sit a bit and then wipe it off…..
Really appreciate you sharing your Marine Corps trick with me. I will definitely have to give it a go and see what happens. Can't be worse off than I already am. Stay tuned...
Great video GQ Jedi. Ewoks line looks great displayed together. I hope you complete the Droids line also, including Vlix, even if it’s a Pro Custom figure!
Thanks, buddy! Once I complete the Kenner Droids line, then I will look into buying more customs for it. Vlix is easily had, this much I know. Just saving up the funds for Kenner ;)
These look great! :) Congrats! I'm glad you were able to get a hold of them. It seemed like you would've had to wait on these forever. Not only are these complete, but I can't get over you getting all the coins along with it. :) My favorite out of the whole lot is the Dulock scout. I remember seeing pictures and I wish they HAD made a Princess Kneesa figure. This is just me, but I think the initials on the feet add to it, but I'm not sure what the marker does to the plastic. Thank so much for sharing the figures. :) Thanks for the video
Amazing score GQ! Scooping up all six of these in one run will save you a ton of time, even if you do decide to upgrade in the future. I was fortunate enough to pick up both a complete loose and MOC run of these figures back in the late '90s, for what is now "very" reasonable prices. These, along with the Droids, are very cool and certainly a bit underappreciated in my opinion, even now. I sat through all the cartoons as well and while some of them were entertaining, the majority of them didn't capture my attention. Maybe that's part of the reason why the series' and the figures fell off. Super cool pickup, always great to see them reviewed, and especially when it's your first handling of these. That's a special moment and I'm happy to see it captured on video. No way you're getting rid of these GQ. 😅
Thank you! All complete at one time....I got lucky! Super cool that you have the whole line on card too :) WOW! And no, I'm not getting rid of these. Nah.
My theory regarding the Ewok/Dulok variety distribution (4:2 in favor of Duloks): 1. Kenner "figured" there would be more waves. 2. Kenner knew kids already had Ewok figures from ROTJ, as evidenced by the Ewok Village on the cardbacks. They knew toy collections would double-dip :-)
So I have no nostalgia for the Ewoks cartoon. As far as I know I never saw it, although I do have a few of the comic books associated with it. I was 13 when it came out and way past that sort of thing as entertainment. When I restarted collecting as an adult in the early '90s, toy shows were loaded with these things, usually carded. They were cheap too, but I passed over them saving my money for the POTF figures I didn't have or ships or weapons for the main line. As I've mentioned before I paused collecting in the mid '00s for about 15 years but got back into it a few years ago. Now that my collection approaches completion, I can see where your mind is. I'm often tempted to follow this tangent (and the Droids linel) at times. So it's cool to see these, and I'm glad you're happy with them, even being the oddities that they are. So, I too, may venture down this path and if I found them under the right circumstances, I probably would. (Now, no griping about my long comments after your long videos! 😝) Oh, and I collect cardbacks just for the completeness, so bravo on getting half of those all at once. I still have many, many more cardbacks to collect and I wouldn't say no to a Droids or Ewoks card in a mixed lot.
The cartoons aren't for everyone! That's for sure. I had to pick these up though as they are Kenner Star Wars toys. Part of the line. Now I'm on to the DROIDS line. While my videos are long, this is MY channel. I don't force anyone to watch the content. LMAO. Just saying.
Awesome that you got these! I love seeing these loose. I wonder what you consider a great deal on these because I got a carded set for $500 about 8 years ago but that was cheaper than piecing together a loose set even back then
Nah. Those take up too much space. I simply don't have that kind of real estate. Plus, I'm massively behind in the scope of collecting. I do have a Jedi Knight Luke though :)
I want the jedi luke jumbo,I have four of the biker scout jumbo and they are very cool.I think you should keep the ewoks cartoon figures as they were around that time, look good and the cartoon was pretty good and those figures look well looked after and must be hard to find.
The G.G. SW Jumbo figures look sh*t, imo. Kenner’s SW figures don’t translate well to that scale. The lack of detail in the sculpts is even more apparent.
I can see myself picking up the 2 Ewoks of that line, not so much the Dulaks. I would have to watch the cartoon more to see if I would change my mind. Great job of showcasing them! 😊
When applying oxy 10 coat the area then place in Ziploc sandwich bag and let's set for 30 minutes to an hour learned this trick from Toy polloi on UA-cam
Thanks, but doesn't that take off some of the plastic coloring? I've used peroxide plenty of times to whiten stormies but have never tinkered with colored figures.
Do you plan on getting the unproduced second wave of Ewoks figures? Or at least custom reproductions of them If they even exist? (Ive seen pictures of them online a while back I think)
They are kinda scarce like the last 17, only issued once! Goofy yet somewhat cool looking 👀 neglected by those focusing on the 96. I assume a lot of original 96 completionists are only starting to see how tough some of these are to obtain!
