    This was an excellent video. Your attention to detail and showing the whole process involved was very inspiring.
    I’m in the midst of setting up a mobile welding trailer.
    Your video gave me some insight of what and what not to do. Also…I’m a new subscriber. Weld on Brother.

    Make a gantry ! Put huge casters on it! I got a three piece allthough i dont have casters on mine it would be nice! I put it up when i need it. Take it down when not in use throw a sling around it and chain fall. I like the unidilla shirts what a testiment to a bunch of good races!

    You can get an adapter to use your Milwaukee batteries on Dewalt drills. That way you don’t have to buy extra batteries. Just a thought

    That evolution chop saw looks like the bees knees!! been scared of them because of the price but that would save me so much time over the grinder and cut off wheel or torch cut looks like it’s time to
    Get one

    • @mcfwelding
      @mcfwelding  11 місяців тому

    • @Dopamine1245
      @Dopamine1245 11 місяців тому

      Definitely invest in a nice chop saw, get one so you can do mitre cuts, will save you a lot of time if you have to build guardrails and handrails. Saves you time on lay out. Even better is a mitering horizontal bandsaw, set the speed of the blade dropping and let it cut on its own, then walk away and prep other material, like I can let the bandsaw do the 45° cuts for the top rail and mid rail, while I quickly cut the kick plate, or cut my posts and quickly put a saddle in them with a hole saw on a drill press. Can have a handrail all tacked up and ready to weld in no time. Cutting with angle grinders, wrapping and cutting your pipe laying out the 45°s and laying out your saddles adds so much time to your project.

    Mikita drills are great. Another Milwaukee tool thats incredibly under par compared is their grinders. Luckily most power stations in my area now provide us with metabo and Dewalt but every now and then there’s a mine with Milwaukee grinders we have to struggle with.

    • @americathefree3708
      @americathefree3708 7 місяців тому +1

      They really failed on the grinder. very disappointed. Also had an impact that would stop running once in a while. I went with Makita and Metabo . They seem to work great so far.

    I bought a blue star for $300 from some guy in the desert here in Cali. It's missing a fuel tank, air filter box, and the ignition switch. The parts are quite cheap, except the fuel tank lol. I've been wanting to give the engine a tune up and attach a small tank. I think it's all fine, but if anything, I think I could put a honda gx390 on it, if for any reason the Kohler is toast. It has a 2019 sticker on it so I think it should be fine welder wise. Also a junk removal customer donated a Lincoln weldanpower 225. Single owner, well kept in a garage. The guy was a retired ironworker. I love the machine but dang it's loud😂

    Thanks for sharing your pricing structure. The Blue Star refurbish video would be good. Do you ever use flux core wire? Seems you could save the cost of gases, and have just as good or better welds. With anti-spatter spray and a wire wheel the welds can look just as good.

    • @mcfwelding

    Learn how to operate the drill. There are more than one settings on it. The clutch settings are bypassed on drill. On screw/driver setting the clutch works. Don't screw with the springs... they will bite you! They sell 'kits' to repair the hinge.
