What’s saddest about his death is that he said “ I didn’t tell anyone about my illness because there would be one less smile in the world “ , Rest In Peace you beautiful legend .
omg hes so precious
He was my favourite actor (in Willy
Wonka and the chocolate factory only...)
What a wonderful man. I never knew that.
@@gracie-maehargreaves9830 over Roy Kinnear ?
@@leobloom7640 huh?????
Was there ever a human being more loveable than Gene Wilder? RIP he was truly one of the all time greats
great but Robin Williams
yes!!!
Trent Thomas Jeez, could u imagine him and wilder in the same movie?!
Mr. Rogers?
John Candy?
Gene Wilder was one of those people who made you feel like the world was OK because he was in it.
this is literally one of the best statements I've ever read.
Perfect
Any woman that has asymmetrical breasts, has what I call, *_"Marty Feldman Tits"._*
Yeah
:')
I am convinced to this day 90% of Willy Wonka was just Wilder screwing with the rest of the cast.
"Oh boys, look what I got here"
"Hey where the white women at"
One of the best quotes from Blazing Saddles🤣😂
Yup... and, in true Ms Mojo fashion, they miss showing the best part by a SECOND.
Lol
That whole movie is pure gold.
Jack_Of _The_are we awake? I don’t know, are we black?
And now watch me do my Jesse Owens impersonation !
I really love Gene's singing voice. Made me wish he was in more musicals.
Vastly underrated See No Evil, Hear No Evil.
Your kidding me, Fuzzy Wuzzy was a woman 😂
See no evil...... the best.
Dustin H I agree one of my favorites I think that should’ve been number one it’s hard to play a deaf character and make it believable he did it
I remember as a kid I had a crush on the girl who played the "bad guy" in this movie. It was very good and funny, this film!
What about Gene Wilder playing as the Fox from the little prince (1974)?
My Grandpa actually went to grade school with this guy. My grandpa was 3 grades behind him, but still counts and it's pretty cool
NO. FU*KING. WAY!!!
My grandpa went to high school with Bill Cosby and was in a few classes with him.
Eeeewwwww sloppy non-consensual seconds.
darthstarkiller1912 Way
I hope he still counts or how else would you know if he was really 3 grades behind or it was a miscalculation.
I loved Gene in Blazing Saddles as the Waco Kid. That truly is my favorite of his appearances.
Who could forget the Fart scene ...
same here always number one
were my froggy
yesss
Manuel Sacha lol that was a good one
At first, when I found out about Gene's death, I felt like my heart stopped. Now, I realize he had an awesome career and a blessed life. I hope to have a film career, myself, and Gene will always be my inspiration! Plus, he's from my home state, Wisconsin, which gives me even more motivation.
God rest Gene Wilder
"Yeah, but I shoot with this hand." Greatest line ever!! I bust out laughing everytime😂🤣😂
R.I.P. Gene Wilder, 1933-2016
As incredible an actor Johnny Depp is, Gene Wilder is still the definitive Willy Wonka, he was whimsical, mysterious, and was so far away from reality that he felt like he was on a new level of humanity, Johnny just made Willy Wonka look like an awkward creep.
Johnny Depp Incredible actor? He is a Product of Tim Burton and nothing more!
Johnny Depp looked like he was acting out some Michael Jackoaon fantasy.
@Blair Bart II wronge
@Blair Bart II by definition it's opinion.
Genes movie was hated by the author so much he never aloud remakes until after he died
I love "Young Frankenstein". Not only is it hilarious to see Gene's character resist and then embrace the work of his grandfather, but just the fact that Victor Frankenstein had a biological family of his own in the film's universe along with being a batshit crazy scientist brings up so many questions!
No one can outdo or even replicate Gene Wilder. So loveable & unique. Such dazzling blue eyes & such dazzling performances!
Agreed on his blue eyes, so why did they manually color his eyes brown for the thumbnail for this video, lol??
Should of been nominated for an Oscar for Willy Wonka. He created such a memorable character that still endears today.
I have liked Gene Wilder since I was a kid and found it sad to hear of his recent passing. Genuinely, he was one of the greats. R.I.P good sir.
R.I.P. Mr. Gene Wilder. You will be missed, from The Waco Kid to Willy Wonka you will always have a place in the hearts of many.
Gene Wilder was one of the funniest men ever! He NEVER gets the recognition he deserves for his body of work. His comedy pairing with Richard Pryor was genius. He NEVER received any awards and that's a terrible oversight on the part of the academy.
Charles Kuckel it’s ironic because in an interview, he said that he doesn’t believe he is funny.
@@chicoravelli5703 Really? I NEVER heard anything like that. IF you could, please send me the URL for the interview. Quite ironic indeed!
'"I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!!! I JUST WANNA MAKE YOU KOSHER!!!"
I love it...why didn't you mention that role? It was amazing....
I know it was wonderful and his screen time with Harrison Ford was amazing the characters were so different
What an incredible, fantastic talent left us. I miss you Mr. Wilder, so much.
"So shines a good deed in a weary world."
He was one of a kind. RIP Mr. Wilder
Gene Wilder was an INCREDIBLE HUMAN BEING! He was a Huge Philanthropist and helped out people wherever he possibly could! A TRUE HUMANITARIAN!
R.I.P Gene. One of the funniest men I've ever seen on film.
He is my favorite actor, ever!!!! God, do I miss him.... He is a true 🎨🎨artist, nobody does it better.... Everyone of his movie's, is pure gold!!!!!! ❤❤❤👍👍👍🥂......
START THE REVOLUTION WITHOUT ME (1970) - Prime Gene Wilder. How could you miss this one?
Indeed, there are several hilarious Wilder scenes in that great movie.
A true master of comedic timing.
Wilder's Willy Wonka was much better than Johnny Depp's.
I always thought a vercua was a type of wart you get on the back of your foot, HA HA
Depp is one of my favorite actors, but his Wonka was kinda creepy, wimpy, and pathetic.
Well, Tim Burton is really dark. The original had a sense of whimsy
I second this thought! YAAAAAAH!
Even just comparing both movies, charlie and the chocolate factory is very dated compared to the original, which is pretty funny :D
Rest in peace, Gene Wilder. You will be missed dearly.
I watch this and I don't feel sad he's gone, I feel happy he was here.
We'll always have the laughs; thanks Gene. God Bless.
My favorite role of Gene Wilder's is as the Rabbi in the Frisco Kid----his performance is superb
He starred alongside Harrison Ford. In my opinion, you can’t get a much better ensemble.
Robin Rothschild yes what a great movie he in my opinion is such a underrated actor his death gave him more notoriety than he got while living but he was so much more than a comedic actor literally he could have pulled off serious roles as well did he ever get to do a serious role I don’t know if he did
This is my favorite too, it is a laugh out loud movie.
Always loved Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother. Under-appreciated classic...
Young Frankenstein should definitely be number one!!! Yes Willy Wonka it was amazing Gene Wilder's performance in the film is truly amazing but I Believe Young Frankenstein was his greatest film
No. Gene Wilder is Willy Wonka. He was a good Young Frankenstein, but nothing compared to Willy Wonka.
He'll always get the most love for Willy Wonka , however I prefer Young Frankenstein as a film and he was great in it. I kinda wanted it to be #1 but knew it wouldn't be. That's okay, I like most of his performances. Aside from that I would have liked more with his chemistry with Richard Pryor. Maybe its a guilty pleasure but i really enjoy 'See no evil hear no evil'.
+Orion Pax Thats my favorite Gene wilder Richard Pryor movie. I love that movie
It's the one collaboration I most remember growing up. I could mention Silver Streak or Stir Crazy, both of which I enjoy but I can't count how many times I popped in the 'See no evil hear no evil' VHS. Always a good time , no matter how many times I had seen it!
fuzzy wuzzy was a woman
I knew that Willy wonka and the chocolate factory would be number 1.
Same
It was incredibly obvious xD
I think we all did :)
good for you, everyone did
Who didn't?
"Get on the bull!!!" Love Gene Wilder. His facial reactions and timing were priceless. One of the greats'.
I fell in love with Gene Wilder when I saw Willy Wonka. Definitely got the #1 pick right!
Apparently you've never seen START THE REVOLUTION WITHOUT ME.
If 3,2,1 are not Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Willy Wonka i'm gonna punch someone!
number 4 should've been see no evil
+sean perko ikr!
You got your wish.
yeah I did!!
Never mind that shit, here comes Mongo
haunted honeymoon always got a bad rap, but anything Wilder is in I love.
Hanky Panky, the first film he did with Gilda Radner was reteam with director Sidney Poitier from Stir Crazy. It was suspenseful Hitchcock thriller like Silver Streak. It is very underrated. This film came out in 1982. The next two films he did with Gilda Radner were the Woman in Red and Haunted Honeymoon.
His performance on Little Prince was wonderful..
Rest in peace, Gene Wilder. You will always be the Candyman to all of us.
Gene Wilder: "Say, boys! Look what we got here!!"
Clevon Little: "Where are all the white women at?"
That line from Blazing Saddles always cracks me up, no matter how many times I've seen it.
Oh, so you finally made a Top 10 Gene Wilder list? Tell me more about how you followed his brilliant career before he passed away.
I see what you did there! Haha! XD
you win the internet for today
thats great
Someone turn this into a Willy Wonka meme ASAP!!!!!!
yea this is kind of shitty of them. im sure they will make a video about mel brookes after he dies too.
Not only was he hilarious, but he could truly act. That’s what makes a great comic great! He and Madeline Kahn were pure magic together onscreen.
Fun fact about Willy Wonka, in the scene where Gene yells at Charlie and Grandpa Joe, they did not informed Charlie's actor about so that they can a real feeling during that scene. Gene and Charlie's actor are actually quite good friends
Peter Ostrum.
sad to see that "The Frisco Kid" got no love. that movie is so good sad to see no one seen it. T_T
Couldn't agree more, I love Gene in that film, one of his best performances in my opinion.
Luv Frisco Kid "OH SHIEEET."
I know. I've loved that movie ever since it came out. One of the funniest Westerns ever :)
I want to see that movie.... SO BAD. But I'm afraid to mention it by name because there's some....."questionable stuff" in it. And if I were to mention it, then it would be like" NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE..."
"yep, that makes sense."
I love all of gene wilder movies he's great every one loves gene he's the best.
It makes me smile to think that there is one classic that could never be remade.... Blazing Saddles
"What Knockers !!"
'Young Frankenstein' 1974 =))
Blucher , Blucher .
Roll , roll , roll zee hay
YES! I AGREE WITH THIS LIST! YOU GET NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!
Towards the end of his life, he didn't want children to see him as an old man. He wanted to be remembered as he was in Willie Wknka. Fantastic actor, he was so good in his roles. Loved Gene Wilder.
Glad that we got to see this wonderful man do the thing that makes the world smile...
Great list, but how can it be missing Frisco Kid? "Guns? You want to shoot guns at me?" Great role.
Sugar Enthusiast how is it missing the fox from the Little Prince?
Totally agree. It was one of his best.
Same, beautiful movie.
I totally agree with this list although I wish The Little Prince had at least gotten an honorable mention.

Many more to come!
Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka is a complete classic. Despite Johnny Depp, there wouldn’t be another Willy Wonka actor who could do it like Gene Wilder.
I can't believe #1 wasn't "Start the Revolution Without Me", Gene Wilder got to do both dramatic and comedic performances.
You didn’t mention he and Donald Sutherland played 2 sets of twins
You said it brother. "But business IS my pleasuah!
Start The Revolution Without Me should of been in the Top 5. That movie had me rolling on the floor, you get literally a double dose of Wilder as one of the Corsican Brothers with Donald Sutherland. Great epic comedy in my opinion. If you haven't seen it, check it out!
I thought it would be number one.
Wilder was more special, I agree 100%. All greatest hit film movies. Truly amazing actor and director. And much more book writer . Truly going miss him in heaven now but Live on a Forever in are hearts.
Gene was a master playing with people's minds ... so talented 👏, to me Dr. Frankenstein was his best performance 🎭 , such a great movie 🎥, the whole cast were amazing 👏
I cried when I heard he died my grandad shown my loads of films he was in a while ago and I loved his acting skills! For me he was well known in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory rest in peace Mr Wilder
He should have won an Oscar for Willy Wonka.
Easily
"Charming" is the perfect word for the great Gene Wilder: no other actor could melt your heart with a smile the way he did.
I've always loved the Pryor and Wilder duo! They really worked so well together... :''-D
Being a literature student makes Young Frankenstein oh so more hilarious!
"Do you agree with our list??"
Honorable Mention - The Fox from "The Little Prince". Great performance in my opinion.
I was looking for it.
YES! FINALLY SOMEONE ALSO CARES!!!
Gene, thanks for entertaining the hell out of me, an extreme pleasure, RIP, Dr. Frank-en-steen?
If Willy Wonka hadn't been number one, I would have unsubscribed and jumped in a lake
Not a chocolate river?
***** No cause at that point I probably would have started to drink it lol
help. police. murder.
I jumped in a lake earlier today. It was refreshing.
If I were you I'd just dig myself under the grave next to Gene wilder!
So “See No Evil, Hear No Evil?” I love that movie.
my name is Jim but most people call me Jim
Wasn’t a religious The Office (US) watcher, but had enough of a sense of the show that I think they surely had to have tried to honour that line at some point. If someone tells me they did, I’ll get off my backside and watch the series, start to finish.
Gene Wilder was a genius! I'd love him no matter what role he played.
Gene wilder will always hold a special place in my heart. Gene wilder is a perfect willy wonka and is an amazing actor.
Number 2 Dr. Frederick Frankenstein - IT'S FRONKENSTEEN!!!!!!!!!
Michael Martin
I shouted that at my phone screen, when she said it haha.
As the other commenter said, at least she said it further into the description, so she slightly redeemed herself :)
Peter Boyle was great in this movie too!
No doubt in my mind that Willy Wonka would be number one. He has become synonymous to that character, like Robert Downey Jr. to Tony Stark
Downy?
oh shit did i forget the "e". fuck me
+TryHardHD45 I knew Willy Wonka would be number 1 too, but I actually hoped Dr. Frankenstein would come out on top instead. They're both brilliantly portrayed characters, but I do enjoy Dr. Frankenstein and the Young Frankenstein movie more than Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
P.S. How were you able to edit your comment? Do you have to be on a desktop? My Android smartphone won't let me edit my comments and it really annoys me!
Stephanie Scarla I don't think you can do it on mobile. On the desktop, you click the three vertical line of dots in the corner of your comment and you can edit it.
Or like Hugh jackman to Wolverine
Had to come back and watch this. This man truly was the epitome of genuine comedic talent. I miss him.
R.I.P Jerome Silberman
aka Gene Wilder
(1933 - 2016)
13:45
YOU GET NOTHING YOU LOSE GOOD DAY SIR!
What a legend. I like to think he and Richard Pryor are passing a joint and watching old Gene Kelly flicks.
Gene Wilder has given me some of the best laughs that I can remember. From first seeing him n'the Silver Streak' in the 70's to the 'The Lady in Red' and beyond. He was an absolute comedy genius. I am currently reading his autobiography and I thoroughly recommend it.
Anyone remember him as the fox from the little prince? my favorite movie of all times, my personality is literally based on it.
A deserving rank for Wonka👍🏻
Gene Wilder will be missed. Nobody can ever replace him.
"Come with me, and you'll be..." As soon as I hear Gene Wilder's voice I tear up a little.
This wonderful, gentle man made me laugh till I cried on many occasions.
You are sorely missed, Gene.
see no evil hear no evil should be in the top 3
See No Evil, Hear No Evil should have been on the list and not just an honorable mention. It's a funny ass movie!
Life always takes away the truest of heroes. RIP gene you are a legend of legends
I love his role in Young Frankenstein"
See no evil hear no evil should have been on the list
Anthony Passaro totally agree with you making playing a deaf guy believable he pulled it off perfect
What about the Fox from the little prince (1974)? I just realised how underrated the movie that is based on my favourite book.
I agree. I thought both Wilder and Pryor did an outstanding convincing job of deaf and blind.
Totally agree! Such a great funny film!
Great list, I'm glad start the revolution without me was there even just as a clip. It's one of my favorites of his.
"Silver Streak" with Richard Pryor is my favourite. So many punchlines.
So shines a good list in a weary world...RIP you hilarious mad-man.
He was my Disney.
Sameeee
❤️
Johnny Depp's attempt at Willy Wonka was decent but Gene Wilder's portrayal of Willy Wonka was awesome man hit the nail right on the head his Silver Streak was very good Blazing Saddles was hilarious he was all around damn good actor
See no evil hear no evil
I love Genes the best too BUT Johnnys version DID follow the book. So no he didn’t “attempt” Wonka he followed directions
I was a runner on a film in Shepperton Studio and I was heading to the old house and as I approached it someone was coming out. I held the door open and out walked Gene Wilder!!! I was floored. He said thank you and I really wanted to say something but I was in awe. Biggest regret that I didn't speak to him, if only to say how much I loved his films. This was around 2002 maybe. What a legend!!!
Gene Wilder, you had an incredible screen presence, your comedic greatness will be missed, Rest In Peace Gene Wilder, I believe you'll live on forever.
I can see Alan Tudek playing Gene Wilder in a biopic
R.I.P Gene Wilder.
How I adored Gene Wilder. And I hadn’t seen even one of his movies yet.
It was ‘68 or ‘69. On PBS I stumbled upon a program where a French female journalist was interviewing him.
He was so quiet spoken, and kind I was smitten immediately. What a special, terrific man this was.
When I saw “The Producers” I had the added treat of loving this actor that was the funniest man I’d ever seen!
I loved him ever since, and saw all his movies. His guest role on WILL & GRACE was nothing but pure genius.
Stir crazy, when they are in the court room, the judge reads the sentence and Wilder goes WHOOH WHOOH WHOOH WHOOH, absolutely brilliant, incredible.
I'm watching this to see what other movies he was known for besides the Top 4, Woman In Red and the ones with Richard Pryor. Willy Wonka is the only film I haven't seen playing on TV after his death. Love that film!
