    Dewalt: low noise, more variable speeds and nice button location. Ridgid :a little more compact and fits a verity of battery sizes. The Dewalt seems a little better but more expensive. I'll take the Dewalt but you can't go wrong with either one.

    Does the sander really perform any better with an octane battery versus a non-octane battery. Seems like a tool where you wouldn't get a big advantage from a better battery. I like the sound of the DeWalt a lot better but for the price and the lifetime warranty I'll take the Ridgid.

    The Milwaukee m18 shop vac will also fit the rigid sander because it takes 1 1/4 hose

    if you turn the dust collection upside down on the dewalt, flexvolt batts fit

    Ok, so I bought the DeWalt and absolutely love it! I like the variable speed function and it supports a 5 aH battery. As a lefty, I like that the sawdust gets ported straight back instead of to the right. It gives me more flexibility than the Rigid. Thanks, again, for your review. All the best!

    I have the corded version of the dewalt and it's pretty impressive. No speed control though but I don't feel like it needs it. I had the rigid and the base came loose too many times to count. My gripe with the dewalt is you have to spend almost as much as the dang thing costs to hook it up to your vacuum. Even if you have a Dewalt vacuum. Though I do have a rigid 14 gallon.

    I have used the rigid before and it feels weird to me because the battery sticks up past the handle on the rigid also why I think the dewalt is better larger dewalt feels more comfortable in my hand

    Ever since the Ridgid version dropped I've been waiting for the Dewalt to come out. I'm very impressed with the metal front clip. The battery size will be limited, but for good reason. Any bigger and it will be uneven on the surface. I already have the adapter for a vac anyways. Now we just need Dewalt to come out with a BL portable vac that won't break the bank. And a 20v plate jointer BL update would be good also.

    Dewalt! Seven speeds, wide grip, switch on the front, speed dial instead of button, dust collector out the back, metal sand paper clips and two clips at the back. Also it runs on Dewalt batteries.
    Does the Ridgid have an instant break?

    DeWalt. Lower vibration is very nice and I'm already in the battery platform. Ridgid has a service agreement but is hard to use if the tool needs repaired.

      Also, Ridgid has a picky, not very communicative, warranty sign up procedure. I have multiple Ridgid tools and on most of them, I've had difficulties getting signed into the warranty program.

    Hi TRZ,
    The DeWalt seems to be the better one. Really a 5.0ah is good enough size you really need. If you're going to have a large and heavier battery then just use a cord style. Now DeWalt should start adding a vacuum adapter if there not going to work it in the design.
    Milwaukee needs to make a new brushless version and a better design with the dust collector.

    Thank you for the good review. I have a question about 200b. Can I use the Powerstack 5ah with dustbags?

    I think the dewalt wins this because you have more control over the speed on the dewalt

    Will the dewalt fit into a 90° corner with the battery turned like it is or will the battery hit the wall and not allow the paper to get into the corner?

    Whats the difference from and orbital sander and this? Which one is better for sanding?

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Pickle. The orbital has a spinning motion to it, and the sheet sander vibrates. The sheet sander is great for for keeping flat surfaces and not leaving waves. The orbital is great for everything else, especially removing more material at once. I'll actually be putting a video together for this topic soon

    I am assuming the Dewalt does not come with a battery. That kind of sucks...

  • @giantsfan1925
    @giantsfan1925 4 роки тому

    honestly, i am a ridgid fanboy, and i have ridgid only, but the dewalt is much quieter and vibrates less. however, i would buy neither of them because it is best to have a corded sander because sanding can take a long time, and it would piss me off when i was sanding with my ridgid orbital sander because it would die. in fact, i got rid of all my cordless tools (except for drill and impact driver) and went corded and I never felt better.

      Cordless sanders are used for sanding idk lets say finish projects that are not near an ac plug

    • @giantsfan1925
      @giantsfan1925 4 роки тому

      Pickle Rick Yeah but if you are going to finish a ton of boards at once with a cordless sander, it just makes sense to use a coded one. Besides, it’s all about the grits.
