Lyrics:
After leaving my apartment
I feel this cold inside me
It howls away all through the market
It calls your name
Ooohh
Ooohh oohh
On my way to your apartment
I write for fear of silence
You carved a boat to sail my shadow
Now I walk alone
Ooohh
Ooohh oohh
Alright, alright
I hit the sidewalk and this is how it starts
Hide in a raincoat when things are falling apart
After leaving your apartment
I hear the coast by nightfall
So sure to keep you dreaming
You understood
Oh, I know you understood
Yes sir, it shows I was no good
Aaaahhh
Alright, alright
I hit the sidewalk and this is how it starts
Hide in a raincoat when things are falling apart
Cause sooner or later this is bound to stop
Come on, let's savor what we're falling for
After leaving your apartment
I hear the coast...
Crazy to think this was 10 years ago. Still personally my favorite song from Young the Giant, and the best rendition of it.
Never gets old..
They just dropped a new song 1 hour ago
Anybody, please suggest me some songs like this
They caught the bottled lightning.
Music be timeless
If you ever get a chance to see them live, this doesn't even do them justice.
I wish I could go, lmao.
+KrisP3016 Agreed, they were outstanding live!
His voice was somehow twice as powerful when I saw them perform live.
+KrisP3016 I saw them a couple of years ago when they opened for Kings of Leon, and I honestly could've lived in that night forever. Both were such fantastic talents to see live, I completely agree. Love these guys!
Kris it's a life changing experience, I cried at least 3 separate times during the show....that's never happened to me before
This is the kind of song that makes you want to make music of your own...
do it
Maybe I will
do it
SippingLizards maybe I will
I just realized I replied that way both times someone told me to do it
these "in the open" sessions are helping me get through midterms
+Jessica DeJesus Same except finals for me lol
through life *
Did you pass?
hope you did well!
This song in any format gives me chills
All the guys can sing, too. 👏👏👏👏👏. one of the most underrated bands ever.
not underrated in Irvine
@@Dmtusic96 from the jakes to now, they’ve been awesome since day one. Along with so many other amazing artists to come out over irvine and santa ana. These guys were also really down to earth back in the day and i’m sure they’re the same today :)
Sameer is such a handsome man
They just make my quarantine more confortable
There needs to be an In the Open cd!
I would buy that CD immediately..
Veronica Estrada imagine that on vinyl, fucking awesome
joseph rivera (k m m l
When they do the harmony... it's so gorgeous!
MsLaBajo you are gorgeous.
I love the In The Open series. The sounds are so natural. The harmonies, warmth....freaking great band. Not a lot of bands could go acoustic in the open and sound this good.
aw yeah. what i love most is he's an indian boy ugh hot damn kekeke xoxoxoxo
You need to listen Imagine Dragons.
They sound Amazing live & acoustic too. :)
ugh i love imagine dragons too much not more than my indian boyi though xoxo
Well, they both are amazing in their own different ways.
i gotta agree.
i want everyone to know about them but at the same time im incredibly selfish and want them all to my self its such a dilemma
lol so glad i found them
gosh dammit, that voice is seriously one of a kind!
their harmonies are spot on
These guys are so so so underrated it actually hurts my brain
*crys because no ones voice should be the beautiful*
I love the "in the open" videos, they're so pure and organic.
Holy crap, the mountains they are on resonate in a really cool way, it really compliments the song. I like this song quite a bit. I feel like, if they haven't already. Should release a In the open album. I would buy it.
i would buy 5 of them
JP Kidder 5 mountains?
The harmony at 2:48 is breathtaking.
Geez, this is what music should be...simple...pure and heartfelt
for some reason this song hits just the right spot.
right!! Its just something about it that just really does it
the ending is my favorite "oooh oooh"
jesus his voice is incredible
sameer's voice is out of this fucking world. the chemistry between them is palpable UGHHH im so beyond obsessed with this song in any format
i would sing this while walking home late at night it would calm me deep in my soul
Rediscovering YTG after so many years is raising me a new level of appreciation for these songs
Why haven’t notice these guys back then ,Man I wish I can go back in time and tell my younger self to hear this kind of music
bruh it be like that. I went all the way back to 2008 during the quarantine. found some songs that were popping back then that I hadn't heard. like I'll download it and put it in the 2008-2011 playlist but the memories the song gives me will be from the present. not 2008 :(
@@verclinlopez4722 sad boys
@@verclinlopez4722 back in 2009 my dad showed be these old records of the beatles, frank sinatra, etc. it was so cool. and it was my happiest day of my life.
@@eraseyourheads3712 the nostalgia must hit like a brick when u listen to those. do u still have them?
I had an sd card with all the music I listened to back then, I lent it out, never saw it again. still haunts me to this day, but every once in a while I'll stumble upon something from that time that sounds familiar. add it to the playlist and put it on loop.
An exceptional live acoustic. And performed outdoors yet. These guys are the real thing.
Every month or so I watch this video and then I send the link to my friends and I'm like "I know I've sent you this before but just listen again, ok?" It's for sure my favorite young the giant song, and one of my favorite songs of all time.
Iara Breder do you still do this?
Iara Breder LLLOOOVVVEEE ❤️❤️❤️
i used to listen to this song religiously my freshmen yr of high school and i recently found this on my recommended and got an instant wave of nostalgia 🥺 oh how i wish i could go back to those stress free times..
Same feeling bro
Haven’t heard this song in forever, until one day at work. Really took me back. Used to play rock band from morning to night & this song really puts me there again. Simple times.
i love how they look like a bunch of friends who just happened to have guitars at the time.
I love that they made this "series" also I have a huge man crush on the lead singer
Holy crap his voice heals
THIS GUY IS SO HANDSOME.
Haha I wish I could just bust out singing perfectly like that.
HIDE IN A RAINCOAT WHEN THINGS ARE FALLING APART.
I love this song, it's so intimate, speaks to my heart
I got shivers the whole 4 minutes... AH I LOVE THEM
SPEECHLESS I LOVE THIS
I want to hear Amerika like this!!
it came true!
i get literal CHILLS whenever i listen to this version of the song
Rightfully so
anybody else enjoy their in the open sessions even more than their studio records?
I FREAKING LOVE THE WAY HE SAYS "APARTMENT" OMG IN LOVE
3:06 Francois just being proud of Sameer's Vocalss!
Don’t know why I ever stop listening to this amazing music
I'll never stop saying Sameer literally has the BEST male voice I have ever heard in my life
I lost an ex that I loved late December last year, this song brings me some peace thinking about her.
They really really really need to start adding the name of the locations they are filming these.
Totally agree with you, the places they go to are beautiful.
I swear to god this is the most amazing song I have ever heard in my entire life. Words can not explain the way I feel when I listen to this song. My stomach gets all jumbled up and I just cant stop listening. Thank you so much Young The Giant for creating such wonderful music that can make my ears, my mind, and my heart so warm.
In these times, sweet voice.
Seriously catching 🌩 in a bottle here. 💗
Such a beautiful song! It's a shame I'm listening to them only now (hardly 2 weeks ago).
I just love the harmonies so much.
Beautiful
Sameer is an ANGEL
I dread the day if I ever grow tired of listening to Young The Giant. I probably won't, but if I do, it'll be the saddest day of my life.
If I had ovaries, they'd be in danger about now.
"That was dope!" love that at the end.
Man with beards are so talented :P
This acoustic version is my favorite. It's beautiful.
This has to be my favorite Young The Giant song.
One of my favorite times ever listening to it was when I was gojng to my grandpas cabin in the mountains. These mountaims are like a 2 and 1/2 hour drive. My grandpa hates traffic so we leave at 3 am. So most of the journey is highway. But around 5:30-6:00 we get to the mountains. Amd I had my headphines in(I always listento musuc on this journey. Amd this song came on. We goung to through winding mountain roads. The window was open so you could breath fresh mountain air.it was most magical experience.
St. Walker came as well
It was amazing
There raw music in the open is so much better than their studio recorded music!
These Into The Open sessions are so raw. Such vibes. Much awesome.
I just love his voice.
gives me chills every time, i always tear up. forever my favorite band.
nice and clean, untroubled by life
His voice has that certain quality to it...
thats just natural talent no auto tone. pop stars need to take a tip from him
everything about them is beautiful
This song really hits me, especially when things are falling apart.

I rediscovered my love for these guys. Pure genius and art
I wanna live like them!!
I too wanna live like them!!
thanks guys for making me cry. I needed to cry, but i couldnt. So I listened to this song and thought about all the happy moments of my life and started to cry and laugh
That location + their musical talent = Best thing ever!
I love the in the open version of this song - the rawness works great with the lyrics. Sounds great on my headphones
I think I'm in love
AMAZING
Makes me cry every time
A week hasn't passed that I haven't wished I could see them live. Come to the Philippines, you guys!
3:40 to the end is so great

I like the dude who's kind of just chilling
Pure eye candy -- and they sing well too! :)
Sameer your voice is perfect :)

Pure unedited talent.

this voice...how?
I just reviewed Young the Giant's new album "Mind Over Matter"! I'm really enjoying it,but I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks of it. Check it out on my channel, it's the featured video!
I am literally stunned by the beauty of this song.
Only I prefer these in the open?
QUE CARA GATO
this is the one that started it all!
7 years ago I would drive every weekend when I was about 20 years old to go visit a girl (who is now an Ex of mines) apartment who went to college down the coast of San Luis Obispo; and everytime I would play and listen to this song. Great memories I’ve had with Young the Giant. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to this song but it brings back vivid memories; both good and sour, and to be honest I wouldn’t trade that for the world. That to me why this band is so great; this is my favorite song of theirs. Music like this just isn’t prominent anymore. Much love from Ventura, CA
2:18 and 3:03 do things to my heart
