Totally makes sense to me, those original packages are huge and take up a lot of space. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!

Glad you found it helpful. I hope someday they will start to consider how much packaging they use. Cheers!

Could you describe how you cook the meals in more detail? Do you add your boiling water into the quart size ziplock bags while it’s inside your coozie? Or do you dump them into your coozie to rehydrate them? How do you keep it clean?

@@tjc9514 I add the boiling water to the ziplock (needs to be a freezer bag to handle boiling water) and follow the normal water amount and rehydration time listed on the package (I write that info on the ziplock) I use the coozie to keep things warm which aids rehydration. When I’m done eating out of the ziplock it gets sealed and put into a gallon zip lock with all my other trash that way the coozie and my pots stay clean. Hope that helps. Cheers!

@@topshelfbackpacking7867 thanks! That sounds pretty nice! I’m packing a bear can for 6 days and it’s crammed full with a bunch of extra packaging!

@@tjc9514 this will save a lot of space. The coozie is nice but wrapping the water/food filled bag in your puffy or spare shirt can work as well. Cheers!
