I swear I can take the smell through the screen. My favorite thing to do for my family especially when it's a rainy evening and sometimes I alternate the evaporated milk with coconut milk . #StLucianCuisine
I clicked so fast when I saw dumping and coco tea... but this I'd completely different from what I thought... in Jamaica we have fry dumping with coco tea seperate... you guys have some awesome dishes.
Green up in St Lucia. Brought back memories of my grandmother making this. I somehow recall the dumplings being like drops. Great video. Keep up the good work
You brought back so many fond memories... My granny made this for me a couple times and had it a few times even I visited my family in St. Lucia. Taste like heaven... This is so good... When you know you know. Could taste it again just by watching your video❤️😂
I'm from Jamaica, we make our cocoa tea very similar but use condensed milk to sweeten it and definitely don't add our dumplings in it. Very interesting tho. Our food is very similar to yours. We don't use the green seasoning either, we just cut up our vegetables instead.
In Trinidad we call it chocolate dumplings. Brings back wonderful childhood memories. Younger generation don't know about it much. Thank you for sharing.
OMG. That looks sooo gooood. Just jesterday I was asking my mom about making cocoa tea with dumplings. I've had cocoa tea, but people don't do the dumplings so much. Will try this.
This recipe has been in my family for more than 100 years, I am from The Bahamas, my roots are in the Turks and Caicos islands since 1842 ,but someone in my family on my mother's side give us the recipe past down, I must have roots in St. Lucia my African roots trace back to Mali and the Bambara people, many Bambara people were also enslaved I discovered in st. Lucia.
I made it and it came out delicious. Thanks for this recipe. My son went back to the pot 3 times and he wants me to make it on his birthday next month👍🏾

U can either use condense milk or sugar. But yea we love the dumplings in it. Much better combo tbh. Let it cook up in there for a bit.

Looks amazing, I grew up on this, but we strain the Tea before adding the doublings Im not sure if that process was skipped
If you grate the cocoa, you can skip that step 😊
I do the same, don't like the little bits in there.
If u grate the cocoa u won’t have to strain it.
