Check your facts: The Abbey Road was recorded AFTER Let it be, but was released prior to it. So the reasoning that "George was disappointed with his representation in Let it be, since he had a lot of great songs in The Abbey Road" doesn't stick.

Lennon in an ¨off-the-cuff¨ moment suggested ¨just calling Eric¨ when George had momentarily walked out on the Let It Be sessions. Clapton was never seriously considered nor asked to ¨join¨ the Beatles therefore there was never a time he ¨refused¨ joining them.
Yes, he was considered for being a temporary substitute for Harrison as a session player but not a standing member. I quit watching this rubbish at 01:22.

As much as Erik was one of the best guitarists, George was a key player throughout the Beatles' career with his humor, his discretion and his special way of playing the guitar and he also was one of the best guitarists.

Eric was George’s friend. John and Paul were ignoring George’s song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. Eric entered the area they were working in with George behind him. Eric was headed for the recording room and the other Beatles asked George as he walked by what is he doing here?George said as he continued walking behind Eric “We are going to record my song”! The others jumped up to record the song. That is how Eric ended up playing in a Beatles song.

The reason Clapton was asked to play on that song was because George Harrison was having a hard time coming up with a suitable solo himself. When GH asked EC to play it, the latter stated "No one plays on Beatles songs". GH then said "It's my song!" and convinced him to do it. Although they may have put in a halfhearted effort, the other Beatles were not ignoring him nor the tune as most of the backing track had already been recorded. In fact, there is an earlier, alternate version featuring a backwards solo from GH which wound up being abandoned. For whichever stupid reason, it wasn't included on the super deluxe box of "The Beatles" (white album). Dumb move on the part of Apple.

Had this happened there is no way it would have worked out. Aside from Eric's close friendship with George, Eric was committed to the blues. There is no way he could have jumped on board and stayed with a huge pop machine like the Beatles. The end would have been similar to Eric's sudden departure from the Yardbirds.

Many inaccuracies in this video. As others have pointed out, Let It Be was mainly recorded in Jan 1969, Abbey Road was recorded later in that year. George leaving the band briefly has been common knowledge for decades, it was not “revealed” by Peter Jackson. Most galling is the Americacentric view that it wasn’t until the Ed Sullivan show in 64 that they made it to the top. Full Beatlemania started in 1963. There are several miss-statements of facts in this strange post. The author knows less about the Beatles time-line and history than most fans do. In addition, Eric has stated that the Beatles had some massive egos in them (John, Paul and Yoko) and that he thought that most of their original fans were "11 year old girls". One point that many fans get wrong is in saying that it was Paul's drive that enabled them to finish Let It Be, when without George's bringing in Billy Preston, it absolutely would not have happened. If Paul had put his energy into discerning what was alienating the other members of the group, instead of cajoling them there might have been a chance for more longevity.

This guy doesn't know that 'Abbey Road' was the final Beatles album recorded after 'Let It Be', although 'Let It Be' was released after 'Abbey Road'. Abbey Road was the proverbial "Swan Song", not 'Let It Be'. Also Eric Clapton emerged from a very Blues oriented scene, that was rather different than the rock oriented Mersey sound that yielded The Beatles. The Beatles were Little Richard, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Marvin Gay, and Chuck Berry influenced. Eric Clapton was much more influenced by Delta Blues like Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker etc. The two schools indeed merged by the late sixties (Yardbirds, Creme, early Fleetwood Mac), and a hybrid of the Blues and Rock n' Roll existed from the earlier sixties with the Rolling Stones, The Animals etc. (after R & B had already evolved into a Rock sound with Bo Diddley). However the scene that initially produced Eric Clapton and the one that initially produced The Beatles had quite different musical ontogenies.

This video is loaded with misinformation.
The reason Harrison left during the making of "Get Back" ("Let It Be") was because of the tensions surrounding the project. Paul McCartney had become overbearing and GH was also fed up with the entire John & Yoko nonsense. During these sessions, which- aside from Harrison's "I Me Mine" were recorded BEFORE "Abbey Road", GH had come up with a batch of songs they tried out. Two of them wound up on the album. In fact, when they were compiling their set list for the rooftop concert, Lennon asked him if he wanted to play one which didn't get off the ground, "All Things Must Pass" but GH said no. Who's fault is that? He also became fed up with constantly being followed around by cameramen and wanted nothing to do with a big, extravagant live concert that was going to round off said project. And, Lennon was known for blurting out nonsense which is exactly what he did when he suggested Clapton replace GH (heroin will do that to a troubled soul). The three of them never sat around "preparing" to make this move. It was taken as a "yeah.....right......ok!" sort of thing.

No, they weren't really an established band until 1960. John met Paul in 1957 and played with him in a group. George joined them in 1959. They didn't settle on the name Beatles until 1960, and had a number of different musicians in the group. Ringo didn't join until 1962.

the "let it be" album was what became of the "get back" sessions that were recorded in january '69 BEFORE "abbey road" was recorded and released. the project was scrapped for various reasons and phil spector was brought in, after "abbey road," to sort through the miles of tapes to make a coherent album. since the song "get back" had already been released as a single in early '69 the album was retitled "let it be." it was recorded before "abbey road" but released after, as the beatles last released album.

George and John did not recognice Eric Clapton in 1966. George asked John at a party in 1966 When Eric Clapton waved to them ” that seems like someone We should recognize but I dont remember Who it is”. So early sixties No way. And the ridicoloulous thought Clapton was Harrisons best friend, Where did that come from ? George had about 50 Friends closer to him than Clapton. But What Clapton did was to try to hang on to the Big Beatles band wagon. Without the Beatles connection he would have been forgotten now. But he picked George and started to stalk him. If you watch Clapton 12 bars you see What kind of disturbed man this is. The famous Clapton Racist Speach that is by todays standards extremely rough and brutal is not even close to everything that is wrong with this man. And Why did he not appologize for that speach untill 2018 ? 42 years after saying it. He is completely lost.

This guy is a joke, stop making false facts about The Beatles. I couldn’t even finish because of so many errors. The majority of Let It Be was recorded in January 1969, long before Abbey Road was even a thought. Let It Be was originally titled Get Back and was planned to be released some time between May-July 69, features a redo cover shot of the bands first album Please Please Me. Of course the Get Back project got shelved, and then by June 69 The Beatles hit the studio to true to make an album in as a group like their early works, opposite to what happened on The White Album(which is really the album that people consider to have solo works)and failed on Let It Be, to work on an album that would become Abbey Road. August 22nd 69 The Beatles finished Abbey Road and took a photoshoot that would end up being their last all 4 together(ironically the very first photoshoot of The Beatles with Ringo as their drummer was taken on the same day in 62. The Beatles were basically together since 57 as Paul met and joined John in The Quarrymen and soon Paul would bring in George and this group would eventually mold into The Beatles by 60, featuring those 3 along with Stu sutcliffe and Pete Best, then Stu left in 61 and died in 62, the 4 remained until Pete got sacked in favor for Ringo in August 62.) The Beatles went on hiatus after recording Abbey Road, in the mean the Let It Be recordings on tampered with a handful of times, in January 70 The remaining Beatles(without John) entered the studio and worked on George’s I Me Mine. Then around March Paul touched up the title track Let It Be. Then eventually Phil Spector added an orchestra to parts of the Let It Be album without Paul’s approval, and it was released in May 70, that same month Paul was the first Beatle to publicly quit the band, although he was the last to ever give up on the group, as Ringo briefly left in August 68, George briefly in January 69, and John in September 69 without making a public announcement making his leave uncertain at the time.
