This guide is more a taster of their personalities than a guide to Stray Kids. The TeaNoSuga guides are probably the most thorough, the 2023 one is probably the most in depth and up to date. But the longer ones usually have good info in. The longer ones often have a lot of song clips in etc. too.

The guides a bit outdated so I'll just mention some extra things you'll probably need if you continue to invest reactions into Kpop and Stray Kids specifically.
    - Bang Chan was born in Korea, then moved to Aus and then came back to Korea as a 13(?) year old trainee.
    - There's no more 'sub' or 'main' positions anymore but you'll see that in a more recent guide.
    - 5:29 Shipping culture is pretty big in Kpop so don't take it too seriously, it's mostly a joke (your expressions were kind of funny though, I cracked up)
    - 7:49 This is called 'aegyo', it generally means cute behaviour. It really is just part of Changbin's personality at this point, he's a cute dude. You'll see it in other content outside of their music videos too, same with other groups.
    - 12:05 Han's representative animal in the Skzoo franchise is a Quokka, which is why Chan said his name instead of the animal.
    - 14:25 The joke is that side-dish in Korean is 'Ban Chan' so Felix made a pun by saying his favourite 'Ban Chan' is 'Bang Chan'.
    - 14:41 This song is Miroh
    - 14:50 This song is 3rd Eye
    - 15:19 Day 6 are a really popular band, highly recommend checking out their music.
    - 16:59 Maknae means youngest in Korean
    - 17:54 This song is Levanter
    - 18:26 The ears represent I.N's skzoo merch animal, which is a fennec fox. He's not a furry, at least to my knowledge (joke btw)
Highly recommend this guide as the next one. It's pretty long, but it's made really well and has all the necessary information too (not anything shocking like this one either). ua-cam.com/video/Wvl5MSDif0s/v-deo.html

JUST SOME VOCAB IF YOU EVER GET CONFUSED!:
A "visual" can be like the best looking or the member that fits the korean beauty standards best. A "maknae" is a term is korea that means "the youngest in a group". Maknae is used a lot in kpop, it just means that the person is the youngest in the situation. A "Madnae" is the opposite, madnaes are the oldest members in a group, but it isnt used as much as maknae. A "hyung" is a term of endearment used by younger males to address older men. "Noona" is how a male addresses an older female. "Unnie" is how younger females address older women, and "oppa" is how younger females address older men. They are all used in respect of the older person, while "dongsaeng" is how older people address younger people. Sometimes these honorifics are translated as "bro" or "brother" for hyung, "sis" or "sister" for noona and unnie, and "honey" for oppa as its used often in relationships. When someone says they want to speak casual or without honorifics, they don't want the younger person to use the words unnie, oppa, noona, or hyung with them as its seen as more respectful or uptight to some.
That was a lot but I hope it helps!

You asked about the “maknae”, that’s the youngest in the group - in STRAY KIDS that’s I.N; in comparison JK is the maknae of BTS. In both groups the maknaes are doted on and cossetted by the older members, largely because they were very young when they started out training together. And the "Visual" you asked about is usually hired by the agencies for the way they look. BTS (Jin) and STRAY KIDS (Hyunjin) were both visuals scouted off the street. They learned their astonishing skills as trainees.
The BTS guide you already reacted to by Taylor Nakamoto is outstanding because Taylor edits for a living; not only that, she published a draft version first and then spent months revising it based on thousands of comments she received in feedback. It’s about as balanced as you can get in the time she had to make it, and tries to simply state facts. Unfortunately, there is no equivalent documentary-style guide for STRAY KIDS, yet.
So you are left with fan made guides which, while entertaining can be confusing to newbies with no context. The one you’ll see most often recommended is by TeaNoSuga Reacts, which has the advantage of being updated regularly. She has a more meme-style approach and does include plenty of clips so you get an idea of the amazing range to STRAY KIDS music. If you are the type who likes MV clips to whet your appetite, you’ll enjoy hers; if not you’ll say there are too many spoilers. Personal taste really.
For what you're asking for, I recommend the STRAY KIDS 2022 GUIDE (Spoiler Free) by KelsTheKiller. You enjoyed Taylor’s BTS Guide and KelsTheKiller’s STRAY KIDS guide is more similar to that - it tries to convey facts and has no MV clips or tiktok edits, instead using clips from live performances, shows, interviews etc. You'll need to pause and read occasionally, but you had that for the BTS guide too, and the clips chosen are informative and not the same ones seen on all the other guides.
Whatever guide you choose, rest assured that STRAY KIDS are seriously talented, hardworking, funny, compassionate and kind humans and their music and performances reflect all of that. And don't worry about the length of the longer guides, STAYs will definitely watch them with you!

Also, technically, the practice of "furries" was documented in ancient greece. But the anthropomorphization of animals in comics really took off in the 60s or 70s in the UK and US and cosplay of such characters around the 80s with albedo anthropomorphics, a sci fi anthology by a writer out of seattle. The first furry con was in California in 89

Ok, first thing is, Stray kids got rid of "official positions" before this guide was even made, they felt it was too confining and not really accurate, since they all strive to improve all sides of their talents. S
Second, kpop groups have some "positions" that don't make sense immediately to Westerners. One is the position of Leader, another is Visual, and there is also Maknae (which means "youngest"). The position of Leader is a little different than in Western groups, it is often held by the oldest member, but not always, for instance, in BTS RM is the Leader, but he's third oldest. This role has all sorts of responsibilities and the leader has a different type of relationship with the other members; the leader also is the main interface between the group and the company. Bang Chan is definitely a Leader, he basically takes care of everyone he comes across, he gets everyone pointed in the same direction, makes decisions, makes sure all the members are safe, etc. Many Stays like to call him "Best Leader".
The position of Visual is way more important in Korea than makes sense to most Westerners. It used to be really common for kpop groups to have at least one member whose main role was just to look good; and this was considered a sufficient contribution to the group. Many Visualsdid not sing or rap and were hidden in the back during the dances. These days that is not common, but it is still a position, usually held by the member who most closely matches the Korean beauty standards. Hyunjin for instance was "street cast", that is, a recruiting agent came up to him on the street, gave him the JYPE card and urged him to audition based only on his looks. He was not a good dancer, rapper or vocalist at that time, he really did get in based on looks and charisma and worked extremely hard to develop actual skills. The Visual position is one that no one in Skz actually wants (except Changbin, and that is mostly a joke). Hyunjin gets it by default because he models and is famous for being pretty. Felix is sometimes also considered a Visual, he was also streetcast during one of JYPE's Australian auditions and only had to do some free style dancing to get in. In contrast, when Chan auditioned, he had to sing, play guitar, dance, play piano, and they had him audition several times, came to his house, and so on.
The position of Maknae goes to the youngest member, and basically means their job is to be taken care of, coddled, and so on by all the other members. It is pretty important in Korea, I can't say I understand it very well, but it is actually a real position with real responsibilities and a real function in the group.

It's hard to know this as a non-stay, especially while watching it, but there is some misinformation in the video. For example, Bangchan was born in Korea and later moved to Australia. Han knows English because he lived in Malaysia (same as Bangchan) and the positions are really off.
I know this is an old video, but back then both Changbin and Han were the Main rappers, (even now, they just have different styles). Han is also a lead vocalist together with I.N. Leeknow was definitely a lead rapper more than sub rapper and Felix's positions should be changed to sub-vocalist lead/sub rapper and lead dancer. Hyunjin is also a lead dancer tgt w Felix. Seungmin is also a sub-rapper. (I get the feeling this editor didn't do their homework)
    The positions in rank:
Main ( ) - for example if you're the main dancer, you lead the dance practices and help coordinate the moves, which leeknow is in charge of
Lead ( ) - Great abilities in dance and knows how to execute their bodies (the skz dance line have all different styles in dance)
( ) - This position doesn't usually exist, so I don't know why the editor uses it.
sub - ( ) - this position doesn't exist for dancers in kpop, but for vocalists, a sub-vocalist is a person who supports the lead and main vocalist in the song and for rappers, it's that they are better than non-rappers but not as good as a lead rapper.

18:44 I think that in Japan, Korea, china, etc. they put on animal costumes cuz they think it’s cute but koreaboos and otakus have integrated it into western pop culture and we see it as weird because the way that they obsess about being an animal is just disgusting, it’s almost like a kink. But they just think it’s a cute costume not a whole lifestyle

    • @DANDJREACT

Yes, here in the US they have Furry conventions here in Vegas. It is a weird lifestyle where they truly believe they are the actual animal and live their lives as the animal.

This was my first guide as a baby Stay and honestly, I appreciate the person work but I though it was pretty terrible, it focus too much in inside jokes which people may not empathize with without knowing the kids previously and lacks actual info about them, where they come from and their aspirations. Is fan made so I guess we can't complain but not I guide I would suggest.

I guess one thing about general Eastern Asian culture is that Aegyo/Kawaii type of culture, that people, no matter what their gender or age is, are kind of used to be being "cute" at times. I don't think this really exists in America?

Hi! I'm pretty sure the ones recommended are all good ones! (specially the one by teanosuga, 2023) I kind of hate this guide 🤣it's just not good at giving the basic info (and makes me cringe too much) but the others talk more about their music and the talents of each member! Also, I haven't found one that I could say has everything, some facts or examples are always missing/lacking, but some stuff you'll see on your own if you keep listening to their music and people commenting!

Thank you for the guide, but these short guides is more irritating as they dont really show the true "FULL" potential of the members, so I would say react to both the new guide I found a 10 min video for you to how they were formed. The actual guide is very detailed and have most of their info :)
    Their new detailed guide ua-cam.com/video/Wvl5MSDif0s/v-deo.html
How Stray Kids were formed ua-cam.com/video/PBuj1l-koVQ/v-deo.html (only 10min)
the sort guides are pointless as they don't give info on the idols themselves
PS: visual is the main focus/looks of the group, You will see Huynjin at the front of the group the most, but that has now changed
PSS: Maknae is the name for the youngest member of the group
