Warms my heart to see Joel mixing here and having such a great time, he fits in so well.
Its really hard not to have a good time in Newcastle, they are some of the warmest friendliest people
Thank you xx
Thanks bro 👍
Everyones pissed ain't hard no
Joel the british in you is coming out more and more as you're definitely fitting in over here and your quick witted humour is catching on. Great to see. 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Newcastle is the BEST 🎉 Glad you experienced it.
I love Newcastle and the Geordies. My son moved to Newcastle and we love to visit. Such a friendly place. Glad you enjoyed it. Your President arrived today too.
And Geordies are very handsome looking too ❤️
@@michaeljohndennis2231:) we are indeed

I once visited Newcastle. The people were great and the city was beautiful.
Get yourself back here bonny lad
:) thank you x
Love 💕 love ❤️love 💞 Newcastle. Since living up north I can't remember my life before in the south. The people actually acknowledge and talk to you. Could never live South again now.
Snap! I’m from the midlands moved up here 2016 and never looked back. I makes me laugh when people ask if I’ll move back to the midlands. Not on your life!!!
@@donnagreen7386Ha ha that's the same as me. I'm forever being told I need to move back to London by my family that still live there, but there is no way I will move back. They keep saying I'm to far away, and I keep telling them they should move up then 😂😂😂. I couldn't move south again now, I love it up here to much.
@@hey12542 exactly!!! I’ve told them they want us to live near each other they can move north 🤣
Nights out in Newcastle are WILD! So glad you got the chance to experience it!
😂
I have to applaud your stamina! 👏 You set yourself one hell of an itinerary in the UK!. Your organisational skills regarding travel arrangements are impressive. You're probably seeing more of the UK than a lot of Brits!.. Good luck on your future travels and enjoy!.
I love that the York guys had you back. That's a real friendship growing there.
I live just down the road in Sunderland (it's about 10 miles away) and worked in Newcastle for years. The friendliest folk you can ever wish to meet, albeit they are completely crazy - but in a good way!
Glasgow and Newcastle are pretty similar overall, we actually like each other lol.
I'm from Essex but I worked in Newcastle once. Absolutely loved it, friendly beautiful city, I had a great time there. Love your roadtrips!
So happy to see you’re having a good time in our lovely country 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 and don’t worry about the Geordie accent, we struggle with understanding them most of the time too.
I'm from Lanarkshire Scotland We love the Geordies , bit like us,good guys,
This vid is just the perfect representation of Newcastle 😂 knew it wouldn't let you down
So much fun for an old man like me to see Joel enjoying himself so much.:)!
Possibly the most entertaining vlog yet. Great to see other people in the video and hearing all the background conversations going on.
God i love Newcastle and Sunderland, much love from Southampton.
Love Newcastle, a vibrant and interesting city
I don't know Newcastle well, but it is just about the friendliest city in England. However, the accent throws many of us.
A little bit of fatherly advice. Strong cider and strong beer tend not to go together. That probably explains the hangover...
Yes gotta be one or the other 😂
Terrific Joel! It's been ages since I've been to Newcastle. My best mate from the British Army while at The Tank Museum in Bovington is from Newcastle. He was over here this February, so we managed to meet up. I'm glad that you' had such a great time and resulting sore head there!! Cheers, John
Many good times spent in Newcastle and had a headache the morning after , don't know why! People are more friendly in the North good to see you meeting some. JPS for you blister go in to a pharmacy Boots for example and get a pack of Compede blister plasters. Not expensive and work quickly.
I’ve never been to Newcastle in all the 21 years I’ve lived here in Manchester, but the Geordies I have met on the gay scene are lovely and I even had a Geordie boyfriend when I first moved here - the Geordie accent is very similar to my own Irish accent too, so yes, Geordies are lovely 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧❤️
You should definitely visit. I was born and raised in the midlands but I’m half Irish as my da was from Limerick. I’ve been up here since 2016 and love it. There are some gay bars not far from the train station. I’m straight but used to have a friend I’d go and be the wing woman for 😁
The Leazes Moor cows are legendary!
Hey Joel, you made a mighty impression with those young residents of Newcastle! they loved you man! So glad to see you enjoying yourself, but the aftermath did not look too good, but you are over it now. You'll feel 'at home' in York... it is an astounding place and you will meets lots of nice people there. My favourite place in the UK. Have a great time in York and I hope you catch up with your buddy.
Hiya Joel,,really glad you are having a great time here in the UK,,the Geordie accent is one of the best,,take care, Tony
I love Newcastle, it's got a brilliant buzz about it and yes the people are friendly (and the accent is virtually impossibly to imitate convincingly if you're not a native)!
Hiya Joel, I hope you you could understand Geordie accent, us on the west Coast sound like Geordies but a little toned down, I was delighted you shown St James's park, that's who I support Newcastle United, and have done for 30 years, Geordie people are nice, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England
Joel, great to see you finally visit my hometown. You have been tricked into eating a Greggs Vegan sausage roll, you need to try a genuine Greggs sausage roll - I can tell by the shape of the pastry. Newcastle is a fantastic city for a nightlife, your experience of going with the flow pretty much sums up most of my nights out. Glad you had a good time and hope you come back!
My same thoughts. Can’t believe she sold him on the vegan sausage roll as though it was the genuine article
Mate, sausage rolls aren't even the best thing about Greggs. It's the breakfast meal deal. Bacon sarnie and a coffee for next to nowt.
Love Newcastle.
Love the york radio guy. He’s like a real life Alan partridge. If only he would have ended with “This is great banter”.
I'm so happy to see you having a good time.Newcastle is very friendly xx
Marks & Spencer’s do great food too
That was a great city vlog in Newcastle! Well done to the friends you made there. And I cannot wait to see the banter with you and Wayne in York. I assume that he treated you to another Sunday Roast!
In Newcastle... I was about to call the - where are you from guy ... Dory from Finding nemo haha
they stretched for a Meal Deal.. woop woop, didn't say at Tesco or M&S
Glad you’re having a great time Joel and meeting some friendly locals! See you’re getting so famous...people are recognising you 😁👍
AW they're a canny lot in Newcastle. Looks like your having a blast mate, enjoy.
Geordie speech inflections derive from Scandinavia.
Glad to see you survived a night out in my hometown. Looks like you got to see some of the city too. Hope the hangover wasn't too bad 😂😂
OMG Joel, everywhere you go you are having the best time. I have never been to Newcastle but it is on my bucket list, especially St. James Park, the atmosphere must be electric. Continue to have a great time mate x
It’s canny up here. Definitely worth a visit. Beautiful city, epic nightlife, friendly locals. St James Park is practically in the city centre so easy to reach.
I absolutely cannot believe that my favourite youtuber is in my city. The one time I'm not. Gutted!!
Glad you enjoyed the toon ( newcastle) we are the friendliest people in the country
You know he's been to Glasgow when he reaches the next place and is chilling in a field waiting to drink! 😂 I'm surprised he didn't go cow tipping when drunk!! 😂💖
Absolutely brilliant city. Place of legends
Haway Bonny lad! You made it to one of my favourite cities. Yes they are incredably friendly and the night life is out of this world. Apart from the hangover you're really enjoying yourself. Will you be getting Gregg's sausage rolls sent over to the US?
The cows were on the Town Moor, There's also the Wylam Brewery at the bottom of the Park.
The city is such a wonderful place to walk around, glad you made it there. I'm really looking forward to the Patreon Extra and your York adventures.
And yes the Weston cider is the good stuff and you have had some in your PO box.
Enjoy!!
I live just up from leazers park black and white bull pub just at the top of this street
I'm a Durham-ite lol living in Smoggy-land but hope you enjoyed the view of Durham Castle and Cathedral as you went by on the train to York.
Glad you're being recognised by subscribers who have been lucky enough to be there at the right time - or prearranged via patreon!?
Maybe on your next visit to UK you'll arrange to meet up with regular subscribers? As well as having a night out with total strangers!
Enjoy your next destination and again, don't stay too sober😂😅❤
I’m the other way round, from Middlesbrough living in Durham. Old Cassop near bowburn.
Last time I visited Newcastle was at the invitation of the Commander of a serving Dutch naval ship for an afternoon drinks onboard and all the crew were antastic and I thank them profusely, Newcastle can get a bit rowdy at night, with the odd altercation when the drink gets the better of folk, it's really only done to make Canadian visitors feel at home! We are sorry Canada!!! Now you are off to York again which means you will have passed by me half way there as I live in Middlesbrough on the banks of the Tees. Since following you before you went to college, I had never invisioned that we would ever have come in such close procimity. Hope you emjoy your travels and make the most of this British summer, they are not often so warm and dry. if you have time, pop into Whitby on the east coast and sample the very best fish and chips of your life!
“When alcohol gets mixed in with the Geordie” 😂😂 Great video!
Joel's channel hijacked by drunken Geordies ;) Love it!
Great city Newcastle. Some of friendliest people you’ll ever meet. So pleased you’re enjoying your time here ….
What a night out mate! Great to have met you, love the vid man x
Night's out in Newcastle are fantastic, glad you got the experience
Go to Superdrug or Savers and get some plasters for your heels! I've never actually been to Newcastle.. It looks fun!
My University City, happy memories of 30 years ago. At the start of the video I think you were near my old halls of residence. The cows were our neighbours!
Hi Joel - glad to see that you are having a nice time here in the U.K., it’s just a pity that you did not get to spend as much time here in Manchester as you would have liked, but Charlie Veitch here in Manchester has a UA-cam Channel - I do also hope that you get to visit my native Ireland very soon too 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧🇺🇸❤️
Weston's is lethal!
Brilliant seeing you with the little 'gang' of spontaneous friends! :)
And..the state of you the next morning!! :D
Can always spot a night in the toon by the state next morning 🤣🤣🤣
Henry Weston's cider is really strong! Be careful how many you drink or you will have missing time.🤔😳😉😂
Was lovely to meet you mate, shame I didn’t manage to catch you later on in the night. Safe travels!
Welcome to the Toon 🖤🤍
I wonder if JPS realised he was just 9 miles from Washington while in Newcastle
Ha ha... 😂
😂
😂 I lived in Newcastle for 8 years in the 80s and 90s. Never changes!
As a Geordie and someone whos been following your channel for ages, i'd have come and said hi but currently on holiday. So glad you visited though, was hoping you would.
Great video mate, most Americans don't get our humor but you're picking it up very quickly! Glad you enjoy you're time. Newcastle is a class night out! If you're ever up northwest and like football (soccer) you should come on burnley game, it's a small little Milltown with some of the best people!
Good to see you in my home-ish city. Not at all surprised by the drunk students you befriended. Pretty typical affair for here. Hope you enjoyed it
I'm loving these videos. I saw the others from when you first came to the UK plus all the other videos where you try British stuff. Glad Yorkshire is next on the list 👍👍👍 can't wait for the next video in "God's Own County" of Yorkshire!! ❤
Hello from Newcastle JP I hoped you went down the Quayside and seen our famous bridges? there Canny Good ha ha
Jps is missing a trick here. what I'm saying here I've visited some parts in the US and there are some great places to see. some of the US countryside is not only huge but stunningly beautiful. jps could may be open another channel with him showing us some of the places he likes to visit in the US because i know of people who have never visited the US and would be inspired to go probably after seeing video's produced by this lad who could give us an inside view of the US from his perspective for Europeans and other world populations that would like to go to the USA.
Good Idea and you should reach out to him!
It’s not just in Newcastle where the police are out at night. 😂😂😅
Newcastle is a city very close to me. Glad you liked it.
Great video as always, ref the Geordie accent linguists think it’s the closest to Anglo Saxon so you were hearing something similar to how we sounded a thousand years ago
❤🖤 ⚪
Typically the knobs in the bigg market were southerners
Glad you said that the ones doing most of the talking in the video didn't sound Geordie .....
@@holistichealthresources5938 does sting doing Geordie, how about Tod slaughter (old film star from the 30s)
No yet both were born in Newcastle ,
@@themovieloverDaReAl90sVlOc the original commenter was correct.....they didnt have Geordie accents or even Northern England accents.....Asking him why he came to Newcastle its a shithole .....head back to the US ASAP.....they were Southerners on camera acting like knobs!....Sting hasn't lived in Newcastle for decades so no he doesn't sound Geordie .....but if your from the North you can tell the difference between local accents and they were not local !!!
I said you'd be fine for a night out on your own in the toon!
Btw, that was a vegan sausage roll you had - you can tell by the way the pastry is patterned
My favorite city and the people are just fantastic have the most amazing time
Awww looks like you got mortal in the toon. Had a canny night judging by that video. Shame you didn’t get to see more of our beautiful coastline. I’m serious I’ll take you next time :) enjoy the rest of your trip 😁
You look so relaxed in Newcastle with those guys, good to see!
Yes; it's true: we Northerners are friendly!
Ow yes. When I came up from London seriously the geordies are great so helpful and polite
I went to University in Newcastle, lived in Castle Leazes Halls of Residence and walked across Leazes Moor and Leazes Park every day. That was back in the 1980s though!
Yep that’s Newcastle alright 🤣
You dropped a bollock there JP. You should have got a bottle of Newkie Brown. (Newcastle Brown Ale)
I walked across the Town Moor (where the cows were) many a time after a night out. It can be an eerie place at 2am. 🤣
My home city! I knew the Geordies would give you a warm welcome. Leazes park , spent many a summers day there as a child. The town Moor with the cows. Making me homesick as I live down south.
It's weird seeing you about right next to where I live. Glad you enjoyed Newcastle, although Flares wouldn't have been my first suggestion of club to visit 😂. Great for cheap pre drinks, but the crowd and music was probably a bit older than you'd be looking for.
That cider is quality. One of me favs
i hope your time in newcastle was good as its my home
You called them chips very naturally!! Well done
Great time in Newcastle and looking forward to the next!
Hi Joel. Great to see you in Newcastle. I taught at the College of Arts there many years ago. It's a very historic city, people there are simply wonderful and happy. I do like Newcastle a lot. If you're coming south on GNER trains, you may pass through Doncaster. If you do stop momentarily at the station, please say hello to me as "Dave in Doncaster" That will be proof you've escaped ha ha ha.
Good morning Joel...The trip is going so well, Enjoying you're late night's as well, Whenever I go through the North-East & people speak to me most of the time I understand them perfectly but on the odd occasion you have to listen very carefully to what they are saying as you know an American accent as well as my East Midlands lingo will stand out, On to the next vid & the return to YO1 Radio...Keep The Faith
Henry Weston is good cider but very strong. Love the series.

Looks like your having a great time and some good experiences in good old Britain the Jordy hospitality is amazing every place you go will have its own unique stance enjoy it love it you will be welcomed with open arms enjoy every minute have a good laugh 👍
Oh god he got hounded by the Geordies 😂 it was bound to happen eventually 😂😂
Not many of them sounded like Geordies, especially if they were drunk and/or slagging the Toon off.
The guy in the white T-shirt was not a Geordie
Glad you had a good time in Newcastle its a fun place!
Glad you are back Joel.🎉😂❤
Top man 👏👏👏 Newcastle is a beautiful city with amazing people.
Great to see you having fun in Newcastle.
like that you actually go to the places you react to
Lol @ 4:30 - Being a Brit myself, I've observed that many of us tend to casually label our own towns as 'shitholes'. I hope that guy was joking, but from the way he said it, I don't think he was. It seems to be a typical British trait, this tendency to under appreciate our own surroundings lol. Personally, I'd give anything to live in a place like Newcastle, it's such an energetic and lively city!
Edit: Very cool to see you having a Greggs! IMO you've not experienced the UK properly until you've had one 🙌
Im from Newcastle
Joel, Glad to see you having a great time and tying one on. I did a summer abroad back in the day in England, Scotland and Wales and had a whale of a time and a couple/few/many hangovers. I brought home a set of half pint glasses which I still have and use today. Bottoms up
