Absolutely stacked 2023! What a great list pal, which also reminded me, I need to pick up Dead and Buried myself. Still need to see City of The Living Dead on the 4K format, the film is mad, just how I like my Fulci 🤘 Here's to a great 2024 my friend!
Great list! As for my favorites of the year, Deaf Crocodile's releases really stood out to me, especially Heroic Times and The Son of the Stars. I was also so happy that Criterion put out The Watermelon Woman (Petite Maman and Nanny too, but the extras there were really lacking), and that Disney released Prey on 4K/B-R. Another stand out was Altered Innocence's Uranium Dreams: Two Homosexual Films from Eloy de la Iglesia. On the TV front, I was very happy that Poker Face, The Last of Us, Evil and Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies got physical releases, and that an underrated, favorite sitcom of mine, Go On, got a DVD release.
Enys Men = Enys Main in Cornish, was great. The Working Class Go to Heaven was superb. Thought Fill ‘we Up was OK but I ended up selling it as I didn’t think I’d watch it again. EO was very good but not as interesting as the directors earlier work (Moonlighting and The Shout are well worth a look )
Was a good year for physical media, though I don’t think I picked up as many as I might’ve in other years. These aren’t exclusively films that were released last year- they are just a few fav films that I happened to buy in 2023. From Criterion, I picked up “Days of Heaven” and “The Thin Red Line” (both BEAUTIFUL films by Terrence Malick); I bought “The ‘Burbs” (thanks, Shout Factory!); I purchased the Kino Lorber release of “Charley Varrick” (gotta love Walter Matthau); and Vinegar Syndrome surprised me by releasing a film that I saw yeeeears ago on VHS: a straight to video thing that most people probably ignored way back when (but was, I guess, a bit of a guilty pleasure for me): “The Amityville Curse.” The last purchase I made, just days before the new year, was the 4K version of “The Maltese Falcon,” one of -if not THE- best film noir experiences ever. Love your videos- thanks for sharing!!

I'd been checking it out for some time but you put me over the edge. 😂😂 I grabbed Bait earlier in the year by the same director. Not sure if you've seen that one yet.
