They are, and it does make potting very easy in comparison to the crappy pub and club tables that I used to play on. It does allow for far more open and exciting play that wouldn't be possible on the old crummy tables that do nothing but stifle the better players. The combination of the speed of the cloth, buckets for pockets, and modern rules makes the game a lot better to watch, even though most of the players or commentators wont admit that the pockets are big.
