@@roywillemsen6193 Maybe you are right but I tried to select only shots executed in official and biggest tournaments. If we were to follow these guidelines, this video would be missing many of Efren's shots from the exhibition tournaments especially in Germany.
Some claim that it must have even dawned to Strickland, who had been known to have one of the biggest ego ever in pool but also being one of the smartest players of his generation, that he possibly witnessed at that moment the greatest pool shot of all times and that he was smart enough to capture this moment for eternity by becoming part of it and getting into the camera preserved for future generations 😊
love this compilation , some fantastic pool playing and players. I can't see why pool is not on tv more when you see the quality of the sport and the sportsmanship displayed.
An excellently put together video, thank you, very well edited and commentated, and a great choice of shots, especially the run at #3! Nice also to close with Strickland, the bad boy of pool, showing such sincere sportsmanship to his arch rival Reyes. And an extra point for showing the spin placing on the cueball, nice!
Not a chance. That shot was hill-hill for a championship win. It’s not just the shot that was incredible, it was everything that was on the line for that shot. It’s the undisputed best high-pressure shot ever recorded.
@jacobjones6763 this is interesting, I've seen the shot many times but never knew it was for a title. I agree then, as that does put a very different complexion on it. However, just as a shot on its own merit, regardless of the context, I stand by my comment.
@@good_one_raggy i think in modern times, there have been better technically executed shots, but given the status of the game in 1995 - the slower tables, the cue technology - and also the fact that this was the deciding rack of a championship against one of the best 9-ball players in Earl Strickland, this was definitely the ultimate shot to not only be able to connect with, but also make and gain position for the next shot. This shot was decades ahead of its time.
Efren's counter defenses and kick shot defenses should've made the list but I guess that can me put on another video compilation of top pool defenses and counter defenses. Great video by the way.
They are all excellent shots and can be rated differently. They’re ranked according to opinion. I would rate Melling’s last sequence as number 1. Effen’s shot is just more famous. Anyhow, I liked all of them. Thank you for sharing
I know Z shot will be number 1 but any of these great shots could easily take the top spot. Especially to me Corey Deuel's crazy innovative power draw shots
Thanks for comment. As I said in the video, not a shot but the context of z-shot make it absolutely special and very difficult to beat. But of course there were many beautiful shots like you mentioned and actually we should make categories to choose only best shots.
Here's my viewpoint on the number 2 shot by Alain Martel. I know he was trying for a clean hit on the 2 ball, but there was certainly an amount of luck involved in him making the 3 ball on the same shot. Sometimes when you make a crazy shot you get an amazingly lucky shot.
Yes, you are right but I think that this turn of events was absolutely incredible and we couldn't see anything like this. I am sure that no one expected shot like this. It is difficult to decide which shot will be 2nd and which 10th because all of them were top class attempts.
That Carlo biado shot should be way higher. That shot is not as easy to excute as he makes it seems. The shot on the 6 to kill it of the first rail and spin it long off the second for short side position 🤯 🤯
Of course it is diffucult to decide which shot will be higher. This shot was amazing and this is true. Maybe i should put it higher but Carlo had direct access to object ball and he could play everything. Behavior of the cue ball was the most beautiful thing in that shot. Anyway thank you very much for your opinion🙏🏻

#19 you put it as just draw, but if you look at where his cue is pointed, and aiming. He's putting a low of low left because the ball squirts out to the right. knowing his deflection on his stick.
It's an Ok list, #18 definitely shouldn't be there. So many shots to choose from, definitely a daunting task. No shots from old school players either which I thought was strange
