violet is one of those queens (if not the ONLY queen) who continuously finds way to elevate and perfect her drag every single day. she just keeps on becoming more and more eyecatching and polished
She was impressive on drag race but her career after has been a dream to witness. She has become the ultimate Polished Queen and is doing stuff no other queens are even thinking off. Aerials and Fire breathing? I mean cmon! Also their house is filled with so many cool things too! The taste is on everything!
I'm guessing you are young as drag queens were doing ariel work back in the 1920's. And queens such as Lily Savage was doing fire eating/breathing in the 1980's.
Hopefully she gets back on track with her physical art because now, with Mik hanging on, I think I heard that she dumped Voss where she performed… kinda worried 😟 Violet has been doing drag for years, it’s her passion and imo Mik just wanted to be on TV.
I would love to see Violet compete again in an all winners season, the way she'd make good tv with these looks, her sass and all of her talents... mindblowing
Honestly, just being a woman preparing for a job interview is too much of an effort. Wash your hair, moisturize it, than ad a styling cream and a heat protector. Style it with an iron or a curler, do your makeup... For some the makeup takes 5 minutes, but if you want to make your eyes look bigger, your nose smaller, etc. it takes time. Good brows take time. It all takes me one to two hours. I don't want to do it every day, yet people at work expect me to, otherwise they often say I don't look good. All of this is supposed to be for fun and optional. This is why I love drag: nobody pretends it's effortless and all the participants acknowledge it's a fantasy.
@@hcje3577 I used to work as a brand manager at a cosmetic company in Russia. (My real name is Katya, lol). It's still a social norm here to kind of dress up every day, especially for older colleagues. I am a plus size woman with an ashy skin undertone and pale lips, so I don't look “presentable” until I take my time to do my hair and makeup. I really hated the pressure of dolling up every day, considering I love cosmetics and fashion. My collegues were telling me “you look so good with this makeup and hair” as a compliment and “you look ill, what’s wrong?” when I was not wearing them. I think, when they know how good you can look in your “daily drag” it sets high expectations and people are disappointed by you with no makeup in a hoodie. I've changed my occupation to working from home as a designer recently:) So I “doll up” neck up and for Zoom calls only now.
@@katyadade1041 thanks so much for sharing! I noticed your name and love it 😍. I had forgotten how much has changed in the past ten years in terms of those expectations in certain work environments. Now that you've explained it's less shocking but still carries emotion due to the pressure of maintaining that routine. God forbid you want to do something else with your time in the morning. Well I hope you love your new job and the extra freedom 💖
@@hcje3577 Thank you for your support! It's been like that in Eastern Europe outside the beauty industry jobs too. You need to look like you invest in your looks a lot to climb the career ladder. Like having nails professionally done every two weeks is a bare minimum. Lashes are optional but also expected. But most of the action usually happens between female colleagues. They give you “kind advice” on how to step up your looks to be more “presentable”. One of the warehouse workers even gave me a catwalk crash course to improve my boring walk 😂. But it’s been getting better over the years. Like 10 years ago you had to wear high heels to look womanly here, but now nice sneakers will do. At the same time, you know, the war is happening, and the Russian society is getting more conservative again.
I would really love to see a queen come on here and use purely retro makeup products that would’ve been available to drag queens 70 years ago. I’m talking at Max factor Penn stick makeup, khol eyeliner, Cream puff powder etc.
I remember as a kid the only representation was buffalo bill from silence of the lambs or on Martin when Jamie fox dressed as shanaynae. Not even kidding. It’s so beautiful that little gays are able to see something so stunning as violet
talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it
When you put occlusives in the form of cream on your face putting a sheet mask on it means non of that serum in the sheet mask gets absorbed. It's a waist. Put it before a cream in the place of a serum. Just my opinion.
She’s really been perfecting her face and the hair has been impeccable lately

The thing about Violet is that you can tell she respects both herself and drag as a craft so much, it's pleasing to watch.

I know it’s “only” a bra and a corset… But the thing is that it’s so chic and the corset is THE corset… I love Violet. She never disappoints.

Violet has ALWAYS been that girl. The talent, the commitment, the passion is all paying off and I love to see it.

I really feel for you since your work seems to expect all that preparation. I'm curious, do you work retail? I'm shocked that people are so critical

Every drag queen I’ve ever hugged/smelled had this smell… then I realized it’s Coty Airspun powder when I was doing my makeup for goth night lol
Not mad at being the first to comment! Ms. Violet is always a vision!

Her make up is not all that . But she does have a eye for fashion. I will give her that
Agree. It's just classic pin up inspired drag makeup that has been done since the 1940's.
Not even Violet can convince me to buy anything from Farfetch

Loveeee😍😍
Did she say "nautical tape" for her face tape? I don't get how it doesn't rip out her exposed own hair along the line of the wig cap.
It’s not as strong as basic tapes
