Violet's choices also really demonstrate her breadth of taste. I appreciate that she chose looks that were campy, elegant, dancey, and sculptural. It's also interesting to me how much emphasis she places on presentation, concept, and selling it down the runway. People forget that fashion NECESSITATES the wearer. A garment is just a garment until it's on somebody and THEN it's fashion. Fashion is also performance.

Violet's description of avant garde should honestly go in the dictionary, because I've never heard a more succinct and clear definition.
I really appreciate that Violet went in deep with commentary taking in consideration fashion and drag at the time of each season, the fashion references and especially how she didn't go for the usual looks and queens that get on the lists. She really has such a good eye for drag, camp and storytelling through a garment.
That's what I love most about Violet, she loves DRAG, any type of drag. She tries to understand the references and don't judge the concept, but the execution and delivery. Really really talented queen that put others up. Many people that only saw the show think of her as obnoxious or stuck up just because she is confident and a little cocky, but despite that she really respect drag and enjoy other queens ideas, even if she herself wouldn't do such looks/performances.

Absolutely! It's very important to take things like that into consideration - having watched the older seasons only late last year it was cringe-y at first to see all the old looks. But everyone looked like that back then! Nude glossy lips with contrasting contour? Excessively layered do's and completely straight hair with NO texture? Yeah, that was IN.

She wears stuff, but if often wears her and her overall aesthetic does not feel curated for a certain drag persona. Nothing she has done is truly revokutionary, but trather in tune with what is expected fashion wise.

She can get props for giving drag a spotlight but that doesn’t mean she’s a good person. You can’t pick and chose the stories either. We’ve heard Gia, Pearl, Aja, and so many other speak out about how unmotherly she is. This is just another check for her so queens are right to critique her.

Naomi’s scarecrow look on season 8 too. Very Demna Gvasalia’s first season at Balenciaga but not looking like a straight up raggedy mess, which is truly ironic when she’s doing scarecrow chic.

I 100% agree about Ru doing the theme with her own runway. I think that not only would it give us all a chance to appreciate Ru's personal style but it would give us a chance to see what she appreciates and loves about each runway idea.
