Great break down of fundamentals. I would like to add having a strong electrical system is very important also depending on wattage. Battery's , bigger alternator, sufficient wire sizes.
Hi, I have a 1600w amp that can support 2 and 4 ohms, so I’ve gathered for full potential I should look for a subwoofer with 1600w rms. What subwoofers would you recommend I look at?
Hie. I like clean bass, not break the door windows bass, but clean bass bang inside ,not brrrrrrr brrrrrr . I see there is a 12' inch Pioneer TS-312D4 4ohm DVC 1,600w Max (500w Nom)... so does it means i can parallel this 4Ohm DVC to 2ohm load , so i will need a monoblock with 500 rms @2 ohm ?
You'll need an amplifier that is 1-ohm stable to drive both Kicker subwoofers, and the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X1bd in the link below delivers exactly the 1000-watts RMS both speakers are rated to handle to maximize performance. The amp features speaker-level inputs so you can connect directly to the factory system for signal, but you can add a line output converter like the AudioControl LC2i PRO in the second link for better sound quality! www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc166/p_575P1KX1BD/Rockford-Fosgate-Punch-P1000X1bd.html www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc166/p_161LC2IPRO/AudioControl-LC2i-PRO.html
It can sometimes be ok to go with an amp rated a little higher than the sub's rating, but you need to be very careful when tuning the amp to keep the gain control low to avoid distortion. To avoid the risk of overpowering and damaging the sub, we typically don't suggest exceeding the sub's maximum RMS power rating.
I’m struggling here being a guy that got what he got around the house I have 100watt 8ohm speaker And a vibe power box 400.1 170rms at 4ohms is my speaker got to much impedance
You cannot change the impedance of the speaker. It will always be an 8 ohm speaker. The ability to connect your speaker to the amp depends on the amp and the power it outputs at 8 ohms. If that rating is not provided or the watts output at 8 ohms is above 100, we recommend that you do not use them together.

Thanks! And that's very true! 🙂
Great job and what home subwoofer would you recommend I’m looking to upgrade the 15in with a better one?
Are you looking for a powered home sub or a replacement driver?
@@crutchfield yes 15in 2ohm and my amp in the box is 1920W RMS (4300W PEAK)
Sounds like you love bass! Sorry, we don't currently have any 15" sub that would handle that amp. Would you want to do a complete replacement?

HI Aaron, sounds like a beefy amp! What is the brand and model? How many subs do you want to use? Do you have a sub box?
Just wanted to add that subwoofer impedance also changes how efficiently your amplifier handles the power draw

Yes!! All that sounds right!
Kicker 10” dual voice coil 4 omh 500 watt rms, what would be a good amplifier fot that configuration
Will it be connected to a factory radio or an aftermarket head unit? Just one of the subs?
@@crutchfield factory b&o system
It would be 2 10”

Can i run 2 comp speaker with 1 subwoofer in 4 channel without mono amplifier???
HI Rivaldo, what are your exact speaker and sub and amp models? We'll need the specs to help.
could you add Saab as one of your models? i have the saab 9-3 2004 model and cant find a unit for it
We're glad to help. What are you looking to add to your car? Do you have the sedan? How many factory speakers does it have?
Can I run a Sub[500W RMS@4ohm] with a amplifier[600W RMS@4ohm]????
