Flight of the Conchords are New Zealand's fourth most popular folk parody duo (according to them lol). All their songs are hilarious and surprisingly musically competent. Would love to see you react to more of them.
They have soooo many good tunes! My favorites are "Jenny," and "The Humans are Dead," and then "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros" and then there are more. But start with some of those three.
Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords was Boris the Alien "It's just Boris" in Men In Black 3, and was Tamatoa (The Giant Crab) in Moana - singing 'Shiny'
This special was great. "Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros" was probably the highlight. These dudes had a good thing going with Flight of the Conchords, but both have moved on to score parts in HUGE films... Bret had small part in 3 of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films, and Jermaine just played a somewhat substantial part in the latest Avatar film sequel.
Brett won an Oscar for writing the music for the 2011 muppets movie. Jermaine cocreated What We Do In The Shadows with Taika Waititi and also played Tamatoa in Moana
Con -Chords, they had a sit com where they are a couple of office kids and their boss becomes a manager, they have one groupie girl who is always stalking them. The manager is always trying to push them into more than they really want to do, trying to meet his dreams of fame and fortune rather than theirs. Very funny. NZ has some fantastic humour, Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a good movie too, and also has a main part played by the same chap who plays the manager.
Flight of the Conchords is fantastic. I could’ve sworn I gave you ‘Most Beautiful Girl In The Room’ foreverrrrr ago. Did I not? I guess not. Damn! I’m mad at myself lol. Also WHO THE HELL HAS THE TYPING SOUND TURNED ON ON THEIR PHONE LOL OMG
The main singer in this has gone on to do quite a few big roles as well so you may have heard him in other places without realising. He was the giant crab in Moana that sang Shiny
Thanks.. these guys are awesome.. there is an entire series that features a lot of their songs in a silly and hilarious "sitcom-style" show.. I hope you react to more of them... appreciate your listen!
I think the comedy/music combo goes back to the boring vaudeville stuff. But my parents were into The Smothers Bothers who perfected the comedy/music skits with the most perfect harmonies. Victor Borge was in the mix too.
after you've enjoyed some more Flight of the Conchords, check out "A Little Tune" by Bret McKenzie (one half of this duo) it's not a comedy song but it's deeeeeeeeeeeelightful

This whole HBO special is amazing.

Hiphop vs Rhyme is so good
"is that it?!" "Oh yeah, that's it!"
This whole concert is hilarious! They are a musical/comedy pair! I love them! They're from New Zealand!!!

Carol Brown. Is my favorite FOTC song.
It was great watching you get surprised by the humour while still appreciating their musical skills😄
The most beautiful girl in the room.... best Flight of the Conchords!

From this gig, Jenny is the ideal one to watch.
Flight of the Conchords, you gotta watch the series, goes for two seasons, I know you'll love it. Plenty of great songs.
The main singer in this has gone on to do quite a few big roles as well so you may have heard him in other places without realising. He was the giant crab in Moana that sang Shiny

I loved this show! early 90's I think. I gotta play this if I ever start dating again!
Kiwis punch above their weight when it comes to comedy.
Most beautiful Girl in the Room!! one of there grooviest
Their prettiest girl in the room is very funny!
"Business hours are over" always kills me
Hip hippopotamus my rhythms are bottomless, all I’m gonna say!!!!!!!
Still quote various Flute of the Commadors quotes regularly 😂
Maybe I’ll dono for Sugar Lumps
And if you’ve ever seen Men In Black 3, one of them plays Boris The Animal. A total pivot. Their songs are such clever parodies and so funny.
and most recently the singing crab from the movie Moana
Yesss!!!! Do more FOTC, so so good 👌
Since your tv is behind you, would be clever and visually aesthetic to make the video you’re watching fit to the screen of the tv lol just for fun
Oh the memories 😊
You have to react to :
Flight of the Concords
“Hiphopopotamus vs the Rhymnocerus”
The best !!
Talented and hilarious. Parody on Barry White sexy songs but twisted. Many more brilliant tracks.
Do everything by them. Everything is fantastic.
So funny, I remember these guys.
Not sure if you have checked out The band Brett was in, The Black Seeds. Great NZ band.
they are sooo funny! Their tv show was the best :) Too many dicks on the dance floor ... now there's a song! lol
Conditions are perfect is what we say for a rugby game
So good

Proud to be a kiwi
You like Tripod, these guys are the NZ equivalent!

Idk why everyone’s reacting to the live version. The official video is ten times better
