So there is a reason Lasky has a ton of respect for Chief. Chief was one of the Spartans that saved Lasky and his class from the Covenant at the human military academy. Chief actually inspired Lasky to continue down the military path even though Lasky could get out due to medical reasons. This all happened before most even knew about the Covenant or the Spartans. A student at the academy got ahold of battle footage and they spotted a Spartan in it fighting the Covenant. Soon after the academy was attacked. After the attack they found out the Spartans at the time were teens.
@@WarriorHumble24 Its from the movie Forward Unto Dawn if you want to watch it. Its considered the best live action Halo film. The biggest CRIME this game did was to not have the UNSC personnel be a, just a TINY BIT, start struck when meeting the Master Chief. I think that was the point. The 4s feel like they got something to prove. The spartan 2s are considered the real deal. The 4s grew up in their shadow and didn’t get augmented till they were grownups. The 2s have the best armor because after that oni cut costs and figured out how to make cheaper armor targeted for the needs of certain missions. @@MrBlazinerday Agreed, but the Spartan IV program was voluntary and many former ODSTs joined. Buck is a good example. The Spartan IVs didnt "really grow up in the 2s shadow" in that sense. @@vicolin6126 perhaps i wasnt clear with what i meant. The war lasted over 20 years and the spartans were coming of age when it started. So most spartan 4s are young people that grew up during the covenant war hearing about the spartans. Then they found out that the spartan 2s and 3s were not voluntary. The scandal with Halsey left the 4s wanting nothing to do with her or her freaks. I also think that halseys attitude didnt help matters much either. By the time master chief came around she had called the 4s everything short of bootleg Spartans.
In the comics, it's revealed that the portal that the Didact fell through sent him to Installation 03, the Halo ring that they passed by on their way to the space station. He ended up fighting the Master Chief again who used 5 of those Composers on the Didact, digitizing him the exact same way that he did all of those innocent people. In the book Halo: Epitaph, it's revealed that the Didact did die from that and his consciousness was uploaded to the Domain, a galaxy-spanning repository that plays a major role in Halo 5. A long time ago, the Didact was captured by the leader of the Flood, the Gravemind, who corrupted and twisted the Didact's mind. That corruption was burned away when the Master Chief Composed him, restoring the Didact's sanity. At the end of the book, he finally found peace in the Domain where the Didact was reunited with his wife the Librarian.
Imagine getting a suit of armor custom made just for you at the value of a destroyer. No one else can wear it, just you. I'd feel so loved and do my best to do the damage of a destroyer.
I remember playing this game the first day it came out and loved it... Until the end that was never explained correctly and it made me soo confused... When he punches the nuke at the end... Cortana uses the light bridge to surround them and they are basically blasting through space having that conversation... Game is awesome. Halo rules lol
The game you are thinking about is "Halo: Infinite", so not named after the ship :) Halo 4 took a lot of stuff from the Halo books and put them in the game, so if you are interested there are a bunch of them to read and they are for the most part really good. For context, the Didact was the highest military leader among the Forerunners. He was married to the Librarian. The two of them often argued and had differing opinions on how things should be done. As you may have picked up on, the ancient Humans and the Forerunner had a long war, way back in time. The humans where running from the Flood and the only way to go was through Forerunner controlled space. The Didact was NOT a fan of the Humans, at all, and stood in their way, oblivious as to WHY the Humans where suddenly invading his territory. He didn't care to know either, as he was quite arrogant, as many other Forerunners where. The Forerunner believed they had the "mantle of responsibility", to protect all lesser life forms in the galaxy. However, their "protection" was more about them controlling the galaxy than actually protecting others. The Forerunner beat the humans, and regressed them genetically to a more primal state, literally de-evolving them, as punishment. Then the Didact used the composer on human prisoners, turning them into his machine soldiers. Then the Flood went after the Forerunners. When the Forerunner-Flood war started, the Librarian indexed (collected) samples of all sentient species in the galaxy, and stored them for later. She was a firm supporter of firing the Halo array to rid the galaxy of the Flood, while her husband the Didact wanted to fight the Flood as he thought he could beat it. He failed, the Halos where fired, all life was wiped out. The Librarians machines made sure to repopulate the galaxy with the samples she collected.
It’s a skull, to make the gameplay harder, by hiding the guns, health, and map. Also, all Spartans that are in a group/ squad, see each other as family, but Cortana is apart of Master Chief’s squad, “Blue Team”, so they see each other as family. There’s no romance between the both of them. Plus the Halo TV show is not canon to the game, it’s a Silver Timeline. The Master Chief the Halo TV series is not the Master Chief in the video game Halo. They both are separate characters and beings. The TV show of Halo is not in any way connected to the video games, even by the story. The only thing that’s the same with both the TV series and the Game, is just having the same characters, but the TV series human characters are written completely differently from the video game human characters.
Yeah, i think everyone hates the Captain, both in-universe and in IRL. The guy is a complete tool. Glad he got relieved of command when Earth found out how he treated MC.

The Chief succeeded in killing the Didact when he Composed him and the Didact was sent to the Domain. It also burned away his corruption from the Gravemind and restored the Didact's sanity.
Halo 4 took stuff from the books and put them into the game, so a lot of new players were pretty confused, which also sorta led to Halo lore channels getting lots of attentions from the news fans. I would recommend watching some lore vids about the ancient flood, humans, and Forerunners and watching vids about the Terminal collectables that you can get playing the game. They talk/show the Forerunner-Flood War, Forerunner-Human War, and other stuff.
Just a crucial tip - Halo 4 and the games onwards is where Halo takes a huge departure from what it originally was due to the fact that a new company [343 industries] now owns the franchise from this point on. Thus, the visuals, story, themes, etc. becomes entirely different and sometimes outright inconsistent, retconned, and subjectively unsatisfactory to a lot of Halo fans. But to not be overly negative, I hope that you can still find at least some enjoyment and entertainment along the way regardless because this is just my personal view
