Honestly the tool they provide is not all that bad yeah it bends the pin easy on the tool but what i found is that laying the strap on the provided tool doesn't line up with the pins. So as a tip for anyone still wanting to use the provided tool i took painters tape and wrapped it around the tool where than watch band lays several times till it lined up with the pin in the band. Made things a lot more easy and then i didnt bend the tip as much on the provided tool instead of trying to fight using the tool while holding the band up.... and when i did instead of changing tips i took a screw driver and tapped on it till it was straight again not too bad in all.

Just took mine to a Walmart and a young lady adjust the links on mine for me
