Hey mate, the hats worn here by the Australian Army aren’t bush hats. They are slouch hats or as their official name goes khaki fur felt (KFF). You’re issued two one of which is worn with your every day uniform and another for ceremonial dress. Bush hats are camouflaged and worn on field exercises and deployment. I hope that helps! 👍🏻
Believing in justice, trying to make things better, not liking the way Veterans have been treated, and believing war harms people is not being left wing or if it is it says bad things about the right wing.
@@dynevor6327 Ok I get you now. Bloody typos and sadly theres no one who is qualified to check such things. Ive contacted DVA about several errors in service records, these things happen. With regards to Cosgroves MC,. I do not think that was warranted. I feel he thinks the same as he glosses over it in his Biography and doesnt want to add any more to the story. All he really says about it was that Junior Officers were not supposed to fight. I think it was given as a result of the respect held for his Father. For what its worth, thanks for serving.
unreal mate. Suggest you read up on Anzac and Australian Military History. Yes, both Have always scrapped way above our weight and did it with pride in every conflict since the Boar War right up to the Middle East and shall continue to do so. God bless the ADF and Australia. PS. We often pick on our Kiwi mates, however, we love them all, particularly the Māori, great mates to have at your back.
I think what is hard to understand is his way of saying "catafalque party" but its common in the Australian Army for Officers to shout gibberish kinda a tradition. Left is Eft Right is Ight and so on.
it's not really anti-war......it's pro soldier, sailor and airman. Its about understanding and supporting those who serve and continue to serve. And it's for veterans to understand they are not alone
Frankie can not have hit a mine the day mankind kicked the moon, because he was going home in June. The moon landing was in July??? Anyhoo, I l'm just here to give the other version ....And don't get me wrong. This song cuts me deep. I bought it as a 7" when I was young & know it verbatim. I just wanted to give you this, Vietnamese, truth... And someone yelled out "what's that?" And the bright white flash was long. Next I was running down the road & all my skin had gone. And can you tell me Ho Chi, what it means to be free? God help me, I was only 13.
I Was a only 19 has to be one of the most evocative and emotional songs ever written, brings tears to the eyes. ANZAC’s have always been bloody hard knocks and some of the toughest squaddies I ever served with. 🫡
The Aussies held off more enemies than the entire group of soldiers the Aussies had. Respect. The yanks were the ones who bloody started the war cause of money.
Fair go mate! most of the Yanks didn't want to be there either, I used to party with them in B.K. and they were just kids that shouldn't have been there, like us they had conscription.
The North Vietnamese were the ones who started the war because they wanted to take over South Vietnam, and the South Vietnamese opposed the communist north as requested help to stop the North supported by the Soviets.

And it was awesome to see the old girls flying…….right on queue🇦🇺👍🏽🇺🇸
This song still makes me cry. As a father of young men I think of them at 19 year olds if they went to war.
I went to war @ 19. This is powerful.

if you knew that guy.....he would see as the highest gift of his career
Thank you to all Aussies who fight to make Australia a better place for we are one but we are many
you are all legends thx for your service and sacrifice.
This song brings back so many memories. Still makes me cry. What a waste of lives.
A Pity that ALL politicians give F***k all about our veterans!!!!
They don't give a damn about anyone but themselves and their bank accounts
What? You're angry that politicians care about war veterans?
@@peta8219 are you dumb?
@@peta8219 I read it weird too, but it's "give f**k all about", ergo that they don't care at all
Exactly true , our government has a lot to answer for, they don't care about the men and women who serve and have served for our country
I´m no Aussie, but I Salute
Chilling but still significant, A fitting tribute to all that have and still serve
Beautiful song and well performed. Beautiful tribute. Lest we forget.
Si vis pacem, para bellum!
