I’m working on the North Pole Tree Skirt now. I prewashed all my fabrics so when washed the appliqué won’t bleed. I’m using an all white base and fun colors for the appliqués. I did get the pattern you used and plan on making that one next year. It took a little over 8 hours from prewash to cutting fabrics and batting. I started pulling thread colors that I will use throughout the project. You did a great job.
That's so cool! I saw the North Pole one, but I wasn't sure about doing all the appliqué, these are definitely labor intensive, but it's so worth it. I'm making 3 more right now as we speak to gift. (I'm a little crazy sometimes) but I'm almost done 😆
I just watched a video on the Designs by JuJu North Pole Tree skirt. I love it but thought just MAYBE the DBJJ Nativity Tree skirt one would be a little easier to do first! I found found your video and think I might just do this one! I have the PE800 which is the embroidery only version of your machine but recently go the NQ1700e with the 6x10 hoop. I think you've inspired me to do this one! Your tree skirt turned out beautiful!
Oh my goodness, your tree skirt is beautiful. Like you, I am limited to the 5 x 7 hoop due to having a Brother PE 770. Just curious if you loaded this into Embrilliance Essentials and if so, wondering if you could use color sort to greatly reduce the number of color changes you had to do? I’ve seen this on DBJJ and thought it was gorgeous. You have inspired me to make this for our Christmas 2024!
Yay!! I'm glad this is inspiring you. I also only have a 5 x 7 hoop, the beauty of this pattern is that she offers it in different sizes hoop, so that worked out. I loaded the design into Embrilliance Essentials, yes. You can change the colors on each design and sort them, and that helped when I made other skirts after this one :)
@@AllieSewCrafty any other tips you can provide for efficiency since this is such a large project would be greatly appreciated! Also, one other question. Was that extra border you put on towards the end before the backing part of the pattern or did you do that to make it a bit larger?
@@angelaframe7959 my biggest tip is build yourself up with patience and start as early as possible with your project :) You can also go through your treads and pick the main colors you want to use and change them on each file, that helped me a lot. For example, only gold or silver. Also, for another one I made, I removed the swirls behind the names. That saved me time. I didn't add borders to the skirt, I only used the patterns that came with the file :)
@@AllieSewCrafty thanks so much for the advice and information! What was the finished diameter and how big is your tree? I know you had it on that table to elevate. I have a 6.5’ pencil tree so it’s tall and skinny. I’m hoping this might be big enough for it since I only have a 5 X 7 hoop?
@@angelaframe7959 my tree is the same 6.5 feet and skinny. I don’t remember exactly the finished size but it didn’t look disproportionate. Maybe the final size is on Design by Juju’s website. Sorry I don’t remember and my skirt is tucked away 😊
a quicker way to change thread is to cut old thread near spool, tie on the new thread and pull it through from the bottom and rethread the needle with the new color.
Have you made this skirt this year? If not, will you try making it for next year? Let me know :)
Beautiful
Thanks

Yes, I saw someone suggesting that for the serger and I thought the same thing. Maybe for the next time :)
