  • Hey everyone,
    Today we are continuing the suspension build for the TT and this week we are installing some front control arms. I am so impressed by the quality of these control arms, and I am so glad I purchased them for my build. We are nearly ready for coilovers and I couldn't be more excited.
    Thank you for watching! If you enjoyed, consider liking and subscribing for more.

    Sitting here eating a bowl of cereal and my roommate just blurted out “this guy is like your Saturday morning cartoon, you watch him every Saturday morning with your bowl of cereal”. 😅

    Just found this channel, this is the third video I have watched in a row.
    I always work on the shade side first. Work out the bugs and find the tricks to the job. Then once I have tested the process go to the sunny side and do a speed run.

      I appreciate the support! That's a really smart approach to working in the sun/shade. I think I will try that out tomorrow and see how I like it! I am glad to hear you are enjoying the videos!

      @@HunterDirection I'm on a similar journey with my cars. I have a 05 legacy gt wagon I'm converting to a 6spd manual and 300+ whp and a 08 mkv gti. I like that I can relate to how you work on and approach modding your cars.
      If you keep posting I'll keep watching.

    Another really good video. I love your easy-going way of explaining what you are doing. The TT scene is now well supplied with UA-camrs, AndyCharger and Chris Fix to name a couple of good ones. Keep up the good work

    Hi from Italy, great vid. Doing some serious upgrades to my 2001 cabriolet, had her 12 years, second owner. She deserves a decent restomod... Already got the engine pretty sorted. Set of front AP calipers and rotors on it's way with matching grooved rears... Then my new OZ racing wheels will go on. Suspension is next on the list

    Godspeed makes some that are half the price but for a Jetta and it looks like it would fit except for the fact the sway bar link on a Jetta bolts to the control arm but I think it would fit

    We’ll now I guess I need to install my tubular control arms. Been waiting to finish some other mods first. I currently use the stock arms (replaced new 600 race miles ago). I have poly poly bushes in the front se toon and upgraded to power flex Heim joints in the rear. Keep up the mods!!

    Those arms look the business. My only advice would be to put some rubber boots on the rose joints. They have a tendency to crap out pretty quickly with day to day road driving.
    I’m currently installing double offset SuperPro bushes on my TT. They add a whole bunch of caster….and you just can’t have enough caster.
    Thanks heaps for all of your efforts. Great content. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀🍀🍀

      The rubber boot idea is great! I'll start looking for some. Those bushings sound awesome! Being able to fine tune the caster is so nice. I really appreciate your support👌 thank you!

    Just an FYI since you’ve mentioned it in a few videos, but you only need to worry about torquing to spec when the car is on its wheels with bonded rubber bushings (oem style). Heim joints, poly bushings, tie rod ends, etc. don’t matter.

    I’ve been eyeing a tubular subframe and control arms for the TT i hate how theres not much adjustability in the front 😭
    I have poly bushings on mine it handles great but i hate going to an alignment shop and they tell me they cant adjust the front caster 🤷🏽‍♂️ great video man!

    • @HunterDirection
      @HunterDirection  2 роки тому +1

      The tubular suspension definitely helps over the stock adjustability from my initial impressions! I'll be able to give a better analysis of the improvements once I get the coilovers on and tune the suspension. Thank you for the support!

    I'm was gonna poly bush mine, with the stock suspension components. I can't really lower it at all as my garage entrance is a pain and I need the height clearance. Now seeing the suspension components you are putting on is making me think twice.

    • @HunterDirection
      @HunterDirection  2 роки тому +1

      That's a really good point. The roads where I live arent the greatest, so I definitely won't be "slamming" the car either haha. I just want the benefits of the stiffer springs/damping and marginal lowering that comes with it. The height adjustability is important since it snows where I live too. I totally get your dilemma though. Thank you for the support!

Right now im working on the soft top ans the window was detached. Engine has lots of issues with boost, i think vacuum leaks and im 100% sure the k04 is shot. But anyway its fun to work on those little cars. My daily is B6 S4 and i love it

      @@HunterDirection Just make sure that the one you want o to buy had the timing chain and guides replaced, this is pretty expensive to do as the whole engine needs to come out and the parts are also crazy expencive - kit from jhm is like 5k USD
