I replacement the battery in my phone and afterwards I found that I had no sound. Took it back apart, disconnected the battery as described and now have my sound back! Many Thanks for this video.

Sounds crazy but I sucked on the top of the phone where my speaker was and it's actually working better than it was before I think something was blocking the speaker hope this helps

Thanks so much. I took mine apart to clean the speaker screen which wasn't dirty or plugged at all, then I re-seated the speaker too AND then I remembered your video and unplugged the battery, not hoping for a miracle though. Well I'm convinced that doing what you did was the the fix in my case too. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Hey there... I simply took a small fine paint brush and brushed it back and forth over the outside speaker to remove any small dust particles and it worked! So please try this before removing the back cover of your phone.

Thank you so much. The advice was spot on. My speaker also wasn't working after a battery change and this fixed it. Just trying to power on after the battery was disconnected did not turn the screen on but must've fully discharged the board. I don't know how you figured this out, but thanks for sharing this!!! Kind of reminds me of changing the battery on a casio watch where you need to touch two points on the back to discharge, which clears the display.

My Motorola speaker isn't working either right now and it has done this before in the past but started working again...now it's back to randomly not playing ANY sounds except for when I have earbuds plugged in it!
if you don't want to take your phone apart wait until the battery is dead and press the power button for 10 seconds and then charge up the phone. it should be working if the speaker isnt damaged
My sound bar won't work so I can't turn sound off and on
I know you got it fixed but I have the fix!! Taking your battery out didnt really fix it. I took my speaker out checked everything put it back in. Onlu used 3 screws just to test. By the way theres a special place in hell for T6 screws. Any way no sound at all so I took it back out. There are two thin contacts that activate the speaker. I used a utility knife To bend them up just slightly. Put back in put 4 screws and wala sound again LIKE NEW!!!!!!! may go up in a puff of smoke later but dont think so. I guess you are using plastic to avoid wires. Other than fingerprint sensor theres nothing to hit. I will buy an adhesive May just use ultra black silicone. You can trim any excess and its water proof. When you moved your speaker thats what made it work. if it does it again this time look at the 2 strips on speaker and bend up slightly. PS I couldnt find hair dryer to try and reseal. Its probably in garage. And caution people you will need a GOOD set of torx screwdrivers.Its either T5 or6 T6 worked but I bet its T5

New Phone is the real fix. Get same one for $99 walmart because people are afraid of the speaker.The little G7 is same price so may as well get the moto optimo. HELLO MOTO
Just wanted to say that this was my problem. I unscrewed the backplate but didn't put it back correctly so there was no contact. Just make sure you have it slotted in correct and screw it in tightly and it works.

And we cant forget the size of those screws if you are a borderline glasses person get some 2.50 reading glasses. screws are size of ants little finger.
Also dont forget warranty is in the dictionary.
Hey , my moto G7 gets switch off whenever i play music or youtube video on speaker mode or taking any call on speaker but works fine while using earphone. What to do , any suggestion?

I should have followed my advice. at any rate what motorola has is about 1 billion g7s that all need speaker reaplaced. And had I not opened the phone it would have been under warranty. But they would have found a way to charge you plus shipping. Why not tin cans with string.

The fingerprint setup is special too it will pop out and requires a ton of patients to put plastic cover back over it.I never used it so really didnt matter.

You need the hands of a surgeon so dont drink coffee or soda with caffeine till after you are done....FIX THE MOTO G7 SPEAKER ISSUE. Had I not seen this guys video I dont know what I would have done.Im an educated auto technician w 40 yrs of working on stuff with thousands of dollars of tools. But even on problem cars a problem driving you cookoo for cocoa puffs its usually something simple. I think Im ready for Nasa now!!!
Bought this same phone 2 days ago played one song and the speaker is blown sounds weird as hell if you listen to music slot if stay away it's Dukey shit for real

I literally flicked the back of mine. Speaker loses contact.
