I agree that Carlos Hathcock is the greatest all time sniper. He may not have the highest confirmed kills, but the shots he did take and the circumstances he operated under are incredible. Thumbs up to the greatest sniper and to all our military snipers. God bless.
It's tragic and hard to believe that Chris is gone. He was a great sniper and a hero. God be with him.
This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must
master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am
useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my
enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I
will. Before God I swear this creed: my rifle and myself are defenders
of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my
life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

What herbs are you smoking?

@SierraHotel26 You're welcome and thanks for watching.
This man turned his head veins to 11
Badger Ordnance M5 bottom metal and AICS DBM...makes me want me get those one of these days...
a marine sniper was onced asked by a reporter "What do you feel when u shoot the enemy?" the marine looked at her and said "Recoil" ...Semper Fi!!!!!
I definitely remember
I freakin love the sound of those cans
Beautiful system for a beautiful Corps
.that sound is amazing
And what makes him even more badass is that his longest kill at 1.4 miles was not with a sniper rifle, but with an M2 .50 cal machine gun which he popped a scope on. It wasn't beaten until 2002.
US FORCES ,,,,Thanks you for your service mate ,,from Australia
If I could I would be with my 3 sons in combat in afganistan and Iraq. Our soliders are the best in the world. I spent 27 years with DOD several deployments enjoyed every minute.
glad to see a fellow lefty we are the real few and proud!
Thumb up from Thailand. Thanks for your viedo.
Yes, the are lightweight, highly adjustable, and afford the shooter many many options when it comes to positions.
Great Video!!!
very cool video.. thanks for sharing...
Where do you get those tripods with the vice on top? Really cool.
The vice is a HOG Saddle, the tripods are most likely "usual" photo tripods
so that is how you use a sniper left handed thanks :)
Terrific.
Greatest sniper, yet.
hit! always try to see Phil Marine Scout Sniper Confidence with out Scoop
Full vintage beast!
Interesting lil video.
wow good shot!
@YaVolkCyka
I heard about him through the Sabaton song "White Death" :)
They do,
How do u call the RIS which is mounted on top of the barrel @ 1:41?
I wanted to go to his memorial, but my dad was like, "You have school."
I love the Harris bipod
Because at great distance the smallest bit your off can be yards off from the target.
The kind that works for the Job Ooorah!
wish i had a Bravo 4 certification but unfortunately mission dictates everything. Great video.
7.62x51 and .308 win is almost the same thing. It's safer to say they are safely interchangeable but they are not identically the same. It's like the 5.56 x45 and the .223. Dimensionally they are the same but the cases of 5.56x45 are thicker to withstand higher pressures they generate as opposed to the .223. It's pretty interesting stuff. Look up reloading info on the 308, chances are they will mention verifying case thickness and so forth between the two as well.
What is that filter at the front of the scope? I have always wondered, is it the protection cap's replacement? Instead of a cap that can get lost in the field? Thanks
Ooooold comment, I know. Its ARD Anti Reflective Device. Keeps light from reflecting off of your scope and giving away your position.
it's really fun I want to try it
Cool
Thats why they use the .50 cal sniper rifles today.. He was the first to fire such a Large round with the purpose of sharp shooting., amazing to think it wasn't beaten until 2002.. wow
hahah im actually comfortable both ways believe it or not. so i switch it up when my arm gets tired expecialy when im messing with 54r or .308 etc.
Fucking love snipers. Total respect for a hard job.
Gotta let that shot surprise you. IF it did you know it was a good shot.
What caliber are thru shooting?
Yeah marine is the number 1
I'm with ya!! I love being a lefty tho, sets me apart from the rest ya know?
Would they actually use those massive Tripods in combat? Or is that just for training?
barrett 50 cal is a beast
it is a visual/flash suppresor.. i believe
@1rickp I noticed that too...except this guy 3:33
In this video they use silencers. It's still loud, but it wont be too bad for your ears.
I have shot a heavy caliber hunting rifle with and without a silencer. And with a silencer i was able to shoot without any earprotection and the sound was not bad at all
None of those guys have follow through, fingers fly off the trigger right after they pull it. I wonder if anyone has pointed that out.
Is that a Mcmillan A4 stock?
The they shooting lefty so they can work the bolt with their right hand? Or are they all just left handed.
I was never a sniper or designated marksman (I was a 13B) but I like shooting bolt actions. I'm a lefty and its a slower less ergonomic. My cousin is a righty and can work the bolt without taking his cheek off the stock where I need to raise my face and reset my aim when I work the action. For reference its my cousin's short-throw Lee Enfield Mk4 from WW2.
I am definitely becoming a scout sniper when I grow up! I love sniping!
Believe me getting into the Marine Corps, let alone getting into the Army these days is harder than getting into most good colleges. I am aware of the requirements and the difficulties of becoming a marines scout sniper as you have just informed me (thank you for that info.) . I am not 2 I am 14 years of age and in well knowledge to the fact that pursuing a career in the military such as this is one of the most difficult tasks in the world and I am prepared and willing to try as best as I can. Please take it easy on me when you don't even know me. It is just a dream for now and I know very little at the moment about this stuff. But I have every intention to learn it in J.R.O.T.C., High school, college, and the rest in training. All of course after I get my education will I maybe be accepted into training.
Thank you sir and yes I have had some experience in the whole drill instructor boot camp dilemma with my dad who was a staff sergeant in the Corps for about 4 years. He has put me through boot camp simulations of what he experienced in his years of making kids wish they had never enlisted. Thank you for wishing me luck because I am sure as shit going to need it when in combat and even in boot camp.
Halo Thunderstar Wow, that was a assholic move to someone who didn't know much about sniping.
Well... It's also a tradition to capture live snipers/recons and cut their genitials off and shove it in their mouths and leave them to die, so good luck.
Sloth Guru we all do!
i like the sound of the suppressor IRL better than the stupid pew pew in video games
I am from Poland and I had a family member that was in a sniper group in WW2 at that time that group had the best snipers in the world and I am proud to be a member of a family that had once one of the best snipers in the world
Which sniper?
The BASIC MARINE SHOOTING COARSE is better than most other branches sniper coarses. That's why we have the BEST SNIPERS IN THE WORLD.
im not an expert on the mater mearly very interested.it depends on what values you grade.but as to my understanding i would rank Simo Häyhä as the nr1 sniper. i am sure hatchcock developed the tactics and equipment for a modern day sniper, and was good at it. but the fact is that the individual performance of the white death(as he was called) by the ussr) was astonishing, facing an overpowered, in numbers and in material enemy, in freezing arctic temps.with 505 confirmed kills in approx 100 days
Next purchase, OAKLEY sunglasses
Sousa? I think he was in Surviving the Cut: Marine Recon.
that and we can afford the equiptment. the hard part about being a sniper isnt the shooting, its the ability to get into a position where you wont be seen, shoot, and get the hell out without getting spotted/killed!
the round the M40A5 is chambered in 6.5x47 Lapua Magnum
As did I, I'm talking about the really reflective multi-colored lenses not the brand themselves.
Marines are fuckin beast.
the only differences between the a3 and a5 is the rail for night optics and the threaded barrel....
@Incuby
Picatinny rail, or front mount picatinny rail.
I dnt know if I could make the scout sniper corse for usmc
he used the M40 not the M40A1
It's just a remington 700 really, so probably.
I forget, what are they wearing on their heads at 3:57. It left my mind.
It looks like a ghilli suit.
Burlap?
It's a little late, but it's a sniper Veil. They are great for a bush rag base as well.
Scrim scarf
travis haley was pretty good too, he operated under black water though.
Just a standard silencer with what looks like a sheath over it
There's a lot more to it than pulling a trigger. But first you gotta qualify as a MARINE, then you can try for sniper. SCOUT SCHOOL. OOH RAH!!!
civilians can't buy the m40 I don't believe. I think it's limited to LE and MIL only. However, you can buy the parts and put your own together. A Manners, Bell and Carlson, or McMillan stock will suffice depending on your price point. A Badger Ordnance DBM (detachable box magazine) drop in. And the "5R" rifling in a remington barrel. I believe all m40's use the 5r system and I know that civilians can buy one, however it's triangle shaped, no a bull barrel. Hope this helps!
M40A3 = A4 McMillan stock, Remington 700 short action clipped and slotted for custom DD Ross scope base, Badger scope rings, Badger DBM bottom metal was used during the last 2 years of service, Remington precision trigger, Schneider #7 contoured barrel 6 groove rifling.
M40A5 = A4 McMillan stock with night vision mounting base bedded into the forearm, Remington 700 short action clipped and slotted for custom DD Ross scope base, Badger scope rings, Badger DBM bottom metal, Remington precision trigger, Schneider #7 contoured barrel 6 groove rifling with SureFire muzzle brake for QD SureFire suppressors.
Shot of korea???
fuck yeah
Now, were those shots really silent, or suppressed? lol just fuckin with ya man.
Had a battle field 4 ad... how ironic
civilians cant buy one but you can get one that looks just like it
Maybe these guys are not lefties , I think that a fast shooting technique to hold steady index finger on the trigger while the other hand control the bolt to reload the chamber for more fire power and not losing the target .
thumbs up if you came here to watch ur favorite sniper from battlefield =D
Its just a regular Suppressor with a cover.
Zaitsev had a target rich environment and had a powerful propaganda machine. There are some elements to his story that have never been confirmed such as the duel with Koenig.
Among other things.
I feel like he could have zapped Vasili Zaitsev, if given the chance. No idea if he could have taken on Simo Hayha.
I thought he used a Winchester model 70 chambered in 30-06 or 308.
Who uses Cheytec intervention?
Too expensive.
Special forces rarely
The chdytac uses a .308 tac which is a rare round
Therefore causing ammo to cost more than the gun
Barrett .416 has better ballistics than the .408. Both would rarely be used by anyone including sf. .338 lapua or .300 win mag should work 99.99% of the time 7.62x51 isn't enough to get the job done.
Prepare your self my brothers time to fight are you all readyyyyyyyy!???
@jstamps5oh what?
he used the m40a1 not the m40a5
No its 7.62x51
hey hey wait u said it was usmc but why did i see a udt/seal
yea he was sorry man no body is or will be better
Exhibit A.
sorry i thought it was 338.lapua magnum but it's 308.lapua magnum
But as we know the Special Reconissiance Regiment are the best and most professional snipers in the world. And I bet you havent even heard of them, thats why they're so good!
your right that most haven't heard of them but that doesn't make them good snipers, and in fact 99% of their work is far to close (like in the same room) as the enemy to be using snipers, also they're training is shorter and less intense than the SAS/SBS so you can be pretty assured that the other special operations forces snipers are more used and therefore more useful and better than the SRR snipers
i agree with you sir ;)
m40a5 he used the a1
한국군도계시네요
what is considered a hit? at those distances, they should be keeping all of their groups at about the size of an orange!
How do soldiers not go deaf from all the gunshots they hear?
