I visited Senegal last year and this video gives me fond memories of the sound of the ocean waves and the soothing cool ocean breezes coming through my hotel window at night.
I just found your channel and subscribed because this choice between Ghana and Senegal is a HUGE dilemma for me. I love Ghana, but there is a unique vibe that pulls me to Dakar, along with the much cleaner streets and beaches. THANKS for making this video. Looking forward to seeing much more from you on this topic!
@@kennykross3306 - have you ever taken a walk from Labadi Beach to Sandbox Beach Club??? It’s filthy with all kinds of garbage. I can love Ghana and tell the truth about what I see at the same time.
@@kennykross3306 - You are correct. The Western region beaches in Ghana are much cleaner and absolutely beautiful, but many of the roads to access them are horrible. With exciting projects like Marine Drive, things will continue to get better, but it will take some time. Even though Labadi has problems after covid, I still love to go there.
@jessica if you think Dakar is beautiful, which it certainly is, you should try Ziguinchor. By far the most underrated city in Senegal. I was born and raised in Senegal and for decided last year to visit this immaculate green region of Senegal and it was awesome. I just fell In love and tou should give it a shot. Keep on trucking.
Zig is extremely slow, but, much more natural compared to Dakar. If she likes the arts scene and having some sort of nightlife and entertainment Dakar would probably be best. I enjoy visiting family in Zig,but, after a few weeks I need to move about.
I’ve watched many videos on Dakar, but yours is definitely one of my favorite. I love the poetic and artistic touch you put in it. And you did a great job capturing and explaining the atmosphere of Dakar, and why it’s different from bigger cities like Accra or Abidjan. Really good 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
This is by far the best video I have watched on Dakar. I commend you for taking that leap and reloacting to Senegal from Ghana. I am an American and plan to move to a country in Africa. I have encouraged several people in Nigeria and Ghana to move to the Senegambia region and will be sharing your video with them as motivation.
This video is so beautiful. Makes me want to get up right now and head to Dakar. Can’t wait to see your follow up on the negatives because you are giving Dakar paradise vibes.
Thanks a lot for this video. I made my choice now between Ghana & Senegal. As a foreigner, and French as my first language, I will relocate in Senegal.
Thanks for sharing this …. I’m coming tomorrow to Dakar for few days … this is very helpful. Can you share the next video about the challenge in Dakar if available… Merci 🙏🏿
I loved your filming style which was quite refreshing than the usual format seen widely including all you had to say about your personal experiences. What is the name of the beach you were sitting at in Dakar, please? I visited Dakar in December 2021 and returned last week. I truly loved every moment there and the nightlife was most enjoyable. Outside of Dakar is also very, very nice such as Saly, Somone and other places in Mbour, Thies where I visited and will return, inshallah, to stay for 3 months. Casamance is a region I plan to visit on my next trip to Senegal.
Thanks for this short video ,you have to know that ecowas citizens doesn’t need visa in 🇸🇳 .and my question for you about language barriers if you doesn’t speak local language and French ,how you communicate??
it's interesting how nice you make Dakar look. I just came from there and it was the worst place I've ever been. And access to quality food is terrible. The air quality also some of the worst in the world. So, if you are saying that Dakar is better than Accra that does not sound good. I heard Accra was dope.
Thank you! I do speak French, and it definitely helps a ton, but I know at least 5 people who live in Dakar and speak little to no French (further proving how diverse it is). Two of them work for themselves online so don't actually need it, but 3 of them have traditional 9-5 jobs and were able to find something that didn't require French. So it's certainly not impossible. There is a huge anglophone community.
Hello! We are a cultural group in Sweden with Senegalese traditions that come from the past and we want to have contact with a musical group or of any kind that sends us an invitation to participate in an event in Dacar or Goré Island. We finance everything and we are NOT looking for money, we just need a contact to inform us. Thank you in advance. Candombe group La Peregrina from Sweden Daniel.
mais comment es-tu arrivée à te plonger dans une culture tout à fait différente de celle dans laquelle tu es née? Ou la culture n'a plus de valeur, selon toi? Bonne chance néanmoins de ce parcours culturel!
I think Ghana and Senegal share a lot from kingdoms to now . But people see themselves in different places. I am Senegalese born and raised but Dakar is kinda particular in culture and geography and society but I see many Senegaleses still leave in some unstable countries it’s a choice. I hope to visit Accra one day as well . One love ❤️
@@kennykross3306 I said they share a lot from kingdom time to now that includes geography , some similarities in culture and features etc because all our western small countries were created from the Berlin conference in 1884/85. The kingdoms like Mali, Songhai Mousso, Ghana(kingdom), Benin (kingdom) etc laid across west Africa occupying several countries at the same time according to their era of reign. We were more centered and most of our coasts were uninhabited . @@kennykross3306 I agree in some of things you said in a closer look .
