I’m moving to Senegal next month. Thanks for making this video. I have been traveling to Senegal since 2000. My husband is Senegalese. We’ve decided to retire in Senegal. I just needed to here some encouraging words from another AA.
I truly appreciate the transparency of this video. A couple of days ago the desire I had for a long time to move to Africa but squashed recently resurfaced. I'm researching Senegal that is how I came across your video. Although this is a very big undertaking that is somewhat having me doubt myself I've decided to trust the Most High and take it one day at a time.
Beautifully said! That is the essence of life, one day at a time. It has been an inspired & an adventurous journey indeed & although not easy at times, it definitely has been worth it🙏🏽
Salaam Sister. I feel the same way about Gambia like you feel for Senegal. Gambia use to be part of Senegal. I just took my shahadah in 2021 in Gambia but did not practice it here in America. I am going back to Gambia next month (March) and I will be getting married. I am very excited and thank you for your videos
Congrats sis I pray your family safe travels and enjoyment and peace… you can also use your mental health specialties over their lord knows our ppl need mental healings… Senegal is a beautiful place
Thank you sooo much for this video. I’m moving to Senegal this year! I really need someone to talk to before I schedule my flights I have 2 children. I would like to know about the yellow fever and visas. I had plans for Nigeria but the place is just all over the place with constantly hanging up everything so to save myself a headache heartache I said NO I can’t do it! I am coming to Senegal 🇸🇳💛😁
@@travelingummi9683 can you contacted other than UA-cam? I’m a single mom and I would really like to talk like on the phone or video call. I’m really confused stressed out don’t know my next to do. As confident as I was in the beginning of my journey it’s starting to dwindle away and I know I am strong. I guess everyone needs someone..
Hi, it has been awhile since you posted this video. Currently, how is Sénégal? Is there anything new, bc, they have a new government? I want to visit Sénégal. What do you think? I live in Phoenix, AZ.
Am from Senegal raised in Burlington vermont am about to go Senegal in Senegal in September this year. Anyone going at the same time let me know maybe we can get together. Am staying for a month .
I'm really wanted to visit in Senegal .My plan to visit next year 2023. I'm from Chicago as FilipinoAmericam. Do I need a yellow fever vaccine to enter in Senegal ? Please let me know if I need yellow fever vaccine. ..
Hey, I lived in Chicago and met/married a wonderful Senegalese woman . We built a house in Diamniadio about 15 minutes from Blaise and starting a farm in Sangela about 30 min away.
Prices vary depending on location & amenities in the apartment. We stayed in a two bedroom two bathroom America’s style (flushing toilets, air conditioning, all kitchen appliances included) apartment in Kaolack and we paid about $700 a month, but had to pay the whole years rent in advance.
Yes, i learned enough Wolof to get around & i used the google translate app when needed & i had lots of friends in Senegal that speak English French and Wolof so I can always call them in a pinch if I need them to get me through a conversation
Are you aware of how bad the health, health care system, air and food is there? Dakar has some of the most toxic air in the world. All of that is way worst than the U.S. Even their rates of C Sections is way higher than in the U.S.
Thanks for sharing. Yeah I went to Senegal twice before moving and I know that it’s no Utopia, but neither is the US. There is no perfect place on earth, it’s all about your perspective. Anytime you move anywhere, you’re just trading one set of issues and problems for another. I am so grateful that I am able to move just about anywhere I want to on earth and experience different lands and cultures and ways of life. It’s very eye-opening and it keeps me humble and grateful.
@@travelingummi9683 The U.S. is not a Utopia but the air quality, health care system and food quality and access is 5000 times better. Have you ever researched just how toxic that air is in Dakar? You can't feel the difference? If you research it you will be shocked at what you find. Living there is literally bad for your health in every way.
@@TheBodyScientist81 Just makes me even more grateful that I am blessed with enough resources that I can choose where I want to live. Not everyone has that luxury. Some places are great for your physical health and horrible for your mental & spiritual well-being. It’s all about your perspective. It’s always a choice. It’s always a trade-off. It sounds like you’ve done your research and you are also blessed enough to make a choice about what is best for you. Enjoy!
@@TheBodyScientist81 you weird stop lying all you mentioning here is toward the usa plus the mass shooting at school problably the worst thing than the usa got speaking right here...

Actually Senegal & Gambia used to be One Country, SENEGAMBIA until the arrival of the Europeans (French and English)
The external/internal feeling matches my Africa/US experience, too!

No visa’s needed for Senegal, if coming from America. Yellow fever was not an issue for us, there was no required vaccine.
