This song right here is a great example of why I love Russian music. Contrary to what I see people believing, Russians don’t really chant about military conquest and other such tribal nonsense. Pretty much all of their older songs are just songs of love, defending a home they love, or appreciating the beauty of life. Even topics which can be absolutely brutal, such as a snowstorm or a war, are delightfully spun into such gentle and heartwarming tales. That’s what old Russian music says to me.
I may not speak Russian very well or ven be the slightest bit Slavic, but, sometimes, this older Russian spirit just resonates deeply with my own.
I just wanted to thank you, Mikhail, for uploading this as well as other songs. It’s terrible we have lost these gems of singers, and I hold all respect to them all, your father included. These people have inspired me to pick up singing once again, and I just recently discovered that I can sing either as a bass, a tenor, and everything in between.

Он заслуживает, чтобы подписчиков было, как минимум 1 миллион. И просмотров каждого ролика с его исполнением по нескольку сот тысяч. Пишу скромными мерками, иначе бы написал, что каждый ролик должен быть просмотрен хотя бы миллиардом человек, учитывая что на Земле почти 8 миллиардов людей. По всем радио и теле эфирам должен звучать его голос! И, поверьте, это будет. Будет при диктатуре пролетариата. Не знаю через сколько конкретно лет, через 20, 50, 100, но обязательно будет.
