- Russian Red Army Choir - Kalinka.
"Kalinka" might be the best-known Russian song of all time. It has been mistaken as being a genuine folksong, but was actually written in 1860 by the composer and folklorist Ivan Petrovich Larionov and first performed in Saratov as part of a theatrical entertainment that he had composed. Soon it was added to the repertory of a folk choral group.
The song celebrates a snowball tree, with a speedy tempo and light-hearted lyrics. Singers and dancers many a time get into a frenzied celebration of song and dance while performing this song. The actual content of the song cannot be translated, as it possesses many Russian expressions and words that can hold a double meaning and have no equivalent in other languages.
In 2003, Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea FC. Since then, "Kalinka" has been associated with the London based Football Club and is often played before or after important matches.
圧倒的な歌唱力ですね、感動しました
This singer face looks happy, also his happy face brings others feel happy.
On this New Year Day, I would like to wish to all the Russians, wherever they are in the world, all the best in this trying times for them.
Eternal Russia will be, once more, Victorious!!!
with all due respect for a huge culture
Expected NICE!
I recommend everybody to watch other Evgueny Belyaev's TV record of Kalinka in 1965, it's an concert's extract posted by an other Alexandrov Red army soloist, Leonid Kharitonov.
As always his singing is wonderful and he even danced with the arms!
You can also listen to this great singer in the song "You are always beautiful" (in Russian), and the Irish song (in irish!) "Annie Laurie" posted by Riverhouse2007, an English fan.
Best greetings from France !
Marvellous !
The strongest army in the world and on top of that they are Excellent singers and dancers.

First 10 seconds is the most powerful. That's a perfect example how all epic tunes should start. I remember only one track with similar begining - Unforgiven
And that other track is???

What a beautiful voice he has!
The cold war never stopped me from loving The Red Army Chorus and Band. I listened to them all the time during my college years. I STILL love them. What artistry!
They all look so friendly and happy
Russian Soul!
Hi, are you alive?
@@Ardhannr hi, you got working toilet yet?
@@harrisn3693 Hi! Yes, I'm not.
What a fabulous voice equalled by such a great song
this was epic! so beautiful! thanks!
What a voice this man is incredible he has such magnificent phrasing and poise and is clearly a star loved by his comrades it makes me get goose bumps listening to him as was said of the Alexandrov choir they could win any war from the steps of a nations opera house bravo bravo bravo
The best Russian song of all times.Greetings from Croatia.
beautiful song
he is just brilliant, a great singer I saw him live and he tore the house down, look at his comrades faces they love him, how good is this! and a dancer to boot look at him when they dance around him, the best mr kalinka of the alexandrov choir bravo bravo
What a wonderful song!
Grazie!!!
I have the old russian LP this particular rendition is on, and all the songs, especially this one, Volga Boatmen, and Russian Fields are the best renditions of these songs I have ever heard. GREAT!
Fantastic, just fantastic!
This song is simply beautiful and strong. It captures you and when you see you are almost dancing to it's rythm. Really loved it.
Splendida canzone e magnifici cantanti, amo la musica russa ed anche i loro ballerini!
Amazing choir..
Before the war, as a boy Evgueny Belyaev won a song contest, so between 2 fights he sang for his comrades.
He was always one of my favourite singers, I listened to Kalinka thousand and thousand of times!
He sang with so much vitality, ardour and joy...I always enjoy and love his wonderful singing.
Greetings from France!
What a great voice!
I like the way they all look so happy:) they really admire him:)
Very emotional song! SPASİBA! from Turkey
Very beautiful voice, and I like the short dance at the end.
I love this song and I am very proud that I am born in USSR)
I was born in america and i dont like comunism.... but i wont lie red army cior and ussr has great music. I personaly try to look at war enemys music differently than the actual politicians responsible for the war. As most war tunes are simply patriotic songs about there love and devotion for there country or there struggles, hardships and victorys on the battlefeild. Tho war is bad, War music isint necissarily bad. Like The german tune Erika. Its often veiwed as bad cause its the most poppular german war tune people think revolves around ww2. But really it goes way back to beffore ww1. Its not even about violence. Its about soldures singing about there maidens back home that the song depicts as a flower.
Калинка! Поздрав за теб, Червена армийо! От България! Живи и здрави!
this song is so rich with soul
I'm 40 years old, and because my father was a fan, I heard the first time this great singer, Evgueny Belyaev, at the age of 5 in concert!
E. Belyaev fought the nazis in his youth (from 16 to 19) so he was a true soldier, but only to defend his homeland (the nazis killed 20 millions of Russians).
At the end of the II World war he was sergeant and he received for this bravery and important military medal.
But usually the Alexandrov artists are musicians who wear uniforms.
The main singers voice sends shivers through my body. What an amazing version!
Wow. I love this.. That is what I call music.
Not only "Kalinka" but also "otchi tchernye" and many others show the soul of Russian
people, their amazing musical sensitiveness. Joy as well as sadness, beatifully expressed.
For me is almost in "classical music" category. I'ts an opinion. AOP
Excellent. Musiciens haut niveau et militaires :)...
my gawd that soloist's voice gives me chills
Greetings to Great Russian Army from a grandson of a Mongolian soldier who fought with Soviet Army in Khalkhiin Gol for Mongolia. My grandfather's name was Ulzii Namsrai.
Damba Lkhagvasuren Thank you and respect to your grandfarther!! We sing for love, not war!!! Friendship!!

this song made, makes, and will allways make me feel shivers all over the body when I listen the refrain, especially
Absolutely the best video that I have seen in a long time. I don't say that lightly. I particularly enjoy the camaraderie displayed among the choir. It looks like they are having great fun and revelry. прекрасный!
his name is Yevgeny Belyaev, he died in 1994 :(.
One of my favorite songs!
This is music with heart, it takes a lot of composing. It doesn't compare to the 4 guitar band stuff we try to pass of as musical talent. This chorus has spent many hours rehearsing to get it right. Its music that has more than just 4 chords. It takes real talent to produce something as grand as this. Its beautiful stuff Choir , where in the USA is there anything on this grand of a scale? Forget the Politics, just remember their music and culture are older than ours.
Good day to everyone,
2019 and listening, magnificent performance, greetings from faraway land of New Zealand.
that guy's voice is so good, i'm in tears. It's that beautiful. One perfect moment captured forever. What youtube is for.

Super expression of Russia - from the 'clarrion tenor' to the super backup of that great male voice choir - what more can be said.
Here after reading the book, The winter horses by Philip Kerr.... I'm crying Kalinka... we made it Max.....
Me, too! I saw them on tv, and the tenor was over 65 and he kicked it!! I also love how these guys are having so much fun.... :-D
Seine Stimme ist einmalig ❤
I came here from the book "The Winter Horses" and the song is as beautiful as the story 😊
I just finished the book and I cried so much istg
This is the best version I have heard. Awesome singer.
I was raised by my mother's family from Russia and heard all these pieces my uncle had a huge collection of Russian music. The Red Army Choir and Ivan Rebroff (raised in Germany) but Russian to the core were tops of the list of music.
WOW! That guy has an amazing voice... I've never heard such a powerful voice!!!
Amazing!!! this is first time I am listening to this and make me to wonder what a brave red army!!
greetings to all my Slavic brothers!!

There is something about watching hardened soldiers singing about snowberries that is just awesome.
A big hug for all the russian and others republicks, the older URSS ... The name maybe isnt important; the most most valuable thing is your identidity, the feelings and the force that every brother have in his heart. From Costa Rica, Cental America !!!!
This song is great and this version is amazing. I can't stop listening to it.
You can absolutely feel the emotion and pride in the music and the chorus.
Totally agree such a powerful voice joyful but without an ego.
@@alanpattinson6211 than why uniforms ?
@@zeldaaachen7200 It may have something to do with being in the army. Why do Americans still wear cowboys hats but never been near a cow except when it's on a plate?
I love this music
fantastic song fantastic tenor
Wow, this is so powerful!!
Excellent performance!
This wonderful man's voice is to die for!!!!
And all his comrades are so fantastic. No words can describe this!
I thank you for your grandfather's service. May he never be forgotten.
I'm reading the book "The Winter Horses" it's such a great story and partly sad.
@SAMIRJON IBADULLAEV I just searched the song because I was curious. -w-
Pavarotti is a little guy for this one :) Bravo!
FANTASTIC !!
svaka ima čast, stvarno prelepo !
Corner or hear this song, whenever I play football, scoring goals as a player or goalkeeper defending a penalty shootout. Futsal championships in my school always hear Kalinka mde by my thoughts. and when we are champions, we dance we sing this song so good to hear.
Big THANKS from SERBIA ... 8)

This magnificent work of art is above any previous qualification! These singers interpreted with all their soul and heart, this is a very impressive vocal beauty, rare beauty! I can not hide my tears of emotion watching this video!!!
such voices incredible
Изумительное исполнение. Молодцы!!!
There were good happy times of the Soviet Union, this was one of them.
I think this is from an LP released in 1965, which I bought as a schoolboy, learning Russian, in New Zealand, and it's been a favourite ever since. It's great to finally put pictures and faces to the music, all these years later!
Thanks.
За душу берёт!
Great, I love Red Army Choir, I hope I can attend to one of their world tours. Russian folklore is unique and beautiful
Greetings to everyone,,
