SDRUno is the most insane SDR software app I have used, and I have used 40 of them. It's not the modularity or the flexibility I mind, it's that every UI anti-pattern in the book was lovingly built into this UI.

    Howdy from Aust.
40+ years in all facets of comms including commercial, amateur, satellite & free bands but brand new to the SDR infrastructure.
So the one thing missing from the "Scanner" options is to tell SDRUNO just like a "normal" scanner ( if one still exists ) to stay on a detected a voice transmission until it finishes instead of only for a set amount of time.
Short of sitting in front of the screen there is no way ( that I as a newbie ) was able to find to get the scanner to stop on & stay on a detected voice transmission until it finishes.
The next option that would be really good would be the ability of Sdruno to start & stop recording as & when a transmission starts & stops ( dare I say just like Proscan ).
Being only very new to SDRUNO & the SDRDUO its been a very steep learning curve with a hell of a lot more to learn.
    Keep up the great work.
    Rgs
    Wayne.

Thank you so much - this video is exactly the one I needed. About the right length for an introduction to the software and just enough detail to get a new user started. And thanks also for making the area of the screen captured match the video resolution. Now I can see the control buttons and menu text. Great stuff.
One question, why are the frequencies in my RX Control & Main SP panels not linked? If I change the frequency in RX Control the Main SP doesn't change.

Mike would you recommend a discone antenna? for broadband coverage or a dedicated set of antenna for each band then through switch box. Kind of want to have a feel for what’s out their and what spectrum part I enjoy from digital decoding to low frequency do chasing that grey line. Your videos are grand and help me so much thus far. I’m using a competitor product but looking at getting the rSP dx soon.

I reccomend a loop for HF (DC-30 MHz) and a discone for everything else above 30 MHz

I am running ver 1.401. sometimes the box that allows decimation appears but does not allow changes. Is this a bug or because I have overidden another function that blocks it.?
Interestingly, I also noticed that the decimation box totally disappears if I press one of the radio buttons and cause the green led to light up on the button ie 15M, 20M etc. Must be a bug.

Thank you. Even though I've been using the software for about 2 weeks, I learned a few things I didn't know. I am having some difficulty using my laptop's touchpad to change the frequency. Is that function limited to a mouse wheel?

    • @SDRplayHamGuides

You really want to use an external mouse vs the touchpad, it will make selecting and changing options much easier.

My mistake, I thought you had a 7610. The 7300 will require an RF switch like the MFJ 1708 SDR version B unless you have another way of sharing your main antenna with the 7300 and the SDR (IF tap board).

is there a way to drag the spectrum from one area to another by clicking and dragging the frequency line? This has worked for me a few times but it is inconsistent. Not sure if a bug or what. This kind of operation is supported on HDSDR and is very useful to drag the window across a range of frequency bands.
