"Chose to fall asleep." That is a really weird way of saying they're also exhausted. Like, do you choose to fall asleep at night or does it kind of just happen?

“Benign neglect” (I’m here if you need anything, just don’t burn the house down” is absolutely a viable parenting strategy. When it gets too noisy or (more frequently) too quiet you know something must be up & it’s time to check on things. Otherwise just let the kids play. It’s actually important for them to learn how to solve problems by themselves.
You did childproof the outlets and the cabinets, didn’t you?
Now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of that labor.

As a mother that stays home with the toddler, I have ABSOLUTELY taken an eye break. Not sure if I have ever fully fallen asleep but I wouldnt fault someone if they have.

How many of these videos are just fakes and here for the UA-cam algorithm?
    I’d say “all of them”.
So, just breathe and don’t be so entitled 😅
I’am a dad, and even in my death bed I’ll continue to stay awake and watch over my children.

We wouldn't let women have a nap? Maybe it is the cultural difference (Central-European) but I never come across judgment towards women for taking naps even if they were home alone with their children.

I agree that there needs to be a responsible person with the little kids/baby. With that said, stop trying to be the single crazy cat lady named "Karen". If you don't find it funny, scroll on. Do we really need an alarmist video on EVERYTHING that rubs us the wrong way or we're afraid of?

Strange.... my wife and I slept all night long when our two children were young/babies and only woke up to care for them if they cried. Not sure how this 24/7 awakeness is supposed to work.

As a father of three the only time I got worried was when it got quiet. Secondly, constantly hovering over the kids is not good either. Third, men and women parent differently, I can't tell you how many times I told my wife to go do something for herself, enjoy herself and don't worry.

I can relate to the anger and resentment she displays, but let me tell you some things I've heard men say recently about those kinds of dad videos:
"Why are dads always shown in the worst light online? I don't neglect my kid, why are dads always portrayed as inept parents for the sake of comedy? As the ignorant butt of sitcom jokes? Making fun of moms is taboo, why are dads fair game? Can we talk about mommy wine culture?"
Certainly we've all met neglectful dads in real life. But it was important for me to realize there a lot of men pushing back against the 'weaponized incompetence' label, and they don't find those dad videos funny either.
