    Some people argued that RB could still do well without Newey because he doesn't build the car all by himself, but the fact is that his influence on the team is bigger than just designning the car, and it's obvious as soon as he was outcasted by RB's management, things started to went off the rails for them.

      He doesn't setup the car, nor does he drive it. This car and all of its flaws were designed under him.

      @@aventusV33 The video states he did help setup the car. If you want to say he doesn't, it sure is uncanny how RB's performance at the track has tanked from totally untouchable by any other team to within striking distance by now seemingly 3 teams alongside Newey's pending departure. Uncanny how Max is complaining week in and week out about the car's handling all the sudden when it was fine to start the season and Perez can't even make Q3 anymore.
      Also, seems like your argument is in direct contradiction with Horner and co. trying to downplay Newey's contributions. If you want to blame him for the flaws of this car, you can't deny credit for all the astoundingly successful cars RB has fielded under his time there.

    I'm typically a RB fan, but in response to this: Then develop the car in that direction. Who cares? All the teams should be putting their cost cap dollars/euros into whatever area they think will bring them the most advantage. If this front wing concept is more advantageous than other shit they could be working on, then develop it. (i totally get it that they would prefer for the advantage to just be deleted from their rivals so that RB then get to catch up "for free" and the other teams effectively "wasted" their development. I just think that "if you don't do anything we'll have to develop the car in the same way" means nothing in this cost cap era).

    • @dolphiner1376
      @dolphiner1376 6 днів тому

      yeah, i like Redbull i mean I'm kinda a bandwagon because I am more in awe of Verstappen and the engineering of the car than anything else but they are so fast already the fact that they feel the need to make these kinds of complaints makes me wonder if they are worried about losing their edge on the competition with the loss of their lead designer it would make sense but also without him now would be the best time to put all your energy into development kinda like at the end of the god father pt 1 when corleone needs to show his ruthlessness despite the power shift.

    • @daviasdf
      @daviasdf 6 днів тому

      @@dolphiner1376 yeah, it's F1's financial structure that incentivises securing advantage over competition. RB's behavior is no different than Merc in the previous era, or any other team (successful or not).

    I saw a video of McLaren MCL38 front wing flex and it look bad, but most assumed a fix suspension and it exaggerate the visual movement of the wing. Front suspension will move up( compression) while wing moved down. Do not trust you eyes, mesure, mesure, mesure.

    A glimpse into 2026 rules concepts already in action?

  • @CP-zi3eg
    @CP-zi3eg 6 днів тому +1

    This topic was part of the F1 rules some decade ago, when aeroelastic tailoring ( referred here ad flexi wing) was used by the most of teams...with results close to disaster: front wings hitting the ground at high speed , transforming in carbon fiber debris along the track. It was a blind attempt to introduce in the cars aeronautical concept still far from the real needs of the F1 world.
    I doubt that the return to this application will make F1 less boring than it is nowadays 😀

    • @pallav8725
      @pallav8725 6 днів тому +1

      Back in those days the computers were not powerful enough to run the simulations to determine the limits of the wing flexing. I dont think the flexi wings of this era will be much exciting but its certainly better than nothing.

  • @Ruylopez778
    @Ruylopez778 6 днів тому

    Given that the Red Bull has problems over the bumps, I think it's a bit early to claim that their lack of dominance is down to Newey. Seems more likely that this is circuit specific and McLaren and Ferrari have closed the gap in performance. If Red Bull dominate in Spain or a later race, does that automatically mean Newey had no impact on understanding the car setup? I don't blame them for moaning about flexi wings, given how many complaints there were about the Red Bull in 2021. The whole paddock contradict themselves whenever it suits them.

    Temo que este seu "Alivio" vai durar poucas rodadas, alias provavel que acabe domingo a tarde apos o jogo com Gremio, porque acho que contra o Vitoria o Marcao ate consiga um bom resultado. Agora no longo prazo o Flu deve voltar a pasmaceira que vinha desde 2012, um carioca a cada 10 anos, chegar uma semi de CB e sonhar com vaga da pre libertadores... que foi o melhor resultado com Odair/Marcao em 2020/21... sem ter estrategia diferente de jogar futebol e com o orcamento do clube muito dificil lutar na frente. O sonho acabou.

    • @ReasonX3

      I think if they could go with flexible wings only, they'd do it. Maybe they cannot make wings flexible and stiff enough at the time. Nobody wants uncontrollable fluctuations on every small bump.

      @Sonnell 6 днів тому

      @@ReasonX3 I would say, the mass dampers is a good example. They were helpful and tuneable. As flexi wings could be.

    Newey is a fantastic engineer. I'm pretty sure he's not a terribly good driver though, isn't he? I think a lot of motorsports engineers do track days and stuff, but most of them aren't that good. If they were good, they would be drivers not engineers. Lol
