Thanks! There are several videos on UA-cam featuring this lock. Yours is simple, straightforward and named the tool used. Very helpful for this beginner.
Ty helped a lot, we had this on our house but nobody remembered the code, I tried guessing but no luck, I was about to take it off but I gave it a try and second or third thry I got it.... I used random metal nail file to put tension and it wasn't the same brant but worked am happy
We have one of these in my office. The combination was lost years ago. I've been trying ones I thought it might be. (I'm in glasgow so the first two were obviously 1888 and 1690 which didn't work). Every few days I tried a few other numbers, in no particular order or series. After watching your video I decided I was going to buy a pick so I could get it. But in a last ditch attempt with the tools I have, I used one of those little flat mobile phone sim card tray openers. It wouldn't fit in beside the dials so I shoved the pin end down the bottom of the little switch applied a little pressure and started twiddling the dials. They sort of jammed when it was at 1337. I took the sim card pin out and pulled the little switch down and it opened up! I've reset the code to something every Rush fan would remember. The original code 1337 seemed somehow familiar to me so I googled it. Its geek code for leet meaning elite. So I guess it was installed by one of our IT guys.
For added protection, put a hand palm electronic system on the door. This is a great deterrent because a thief can’t get in with only a key but, has to go through another entire another way using the hand, and then some more numbers to get in. Remember, a skilled thief will get in no matter what method you use. For the “honest people”, this video helped many people, including landlords, and home homeowners.
I finally got it after watching this video but I used a paper clip and hammered it flat with a little hook on the end to try and imitate this tool. Definitely not as easy as this makes it look but that could be because I’m using a paper clip and not the lockpick tool. It was hard to tell when I had the bar hooked. I tried a few times even after I got it and it makes a difference having good tension on the bar. Otherwise every number feels about the same. The last 2 numbers are easiest once you have the first couple right.
Will you please do a video with the doorknob still on the door? Kind of impossible to take the door handle off when it's locked. Might as well just pick the lock.
Very nice demonstration HLP. I like the use of a thin pick like that peterson, thanks for showing. Look forward to the next video. Take care my friend 👍🏼🔐🔓🔑🗝
That video was very helpful. I am a realtor and I forgot the code I used to put the lock on the door handle. How can I get the lockbox off the door knob.
Dude, I can not believe this worked. I forgot the combination to a key box I had and tried everything I could think of. This worked perfectly. Thank you.
Yes it does. Some of the security stuff you will find here is mind opening. But just please never pick or open locks you don't own or ones that are not in use
I've seen half a dozen channels do this, but this is the first time I realized that the hook faces up. I always thought it pointed down wow, good to know.
I found the jet board door open. When I enter my code I can push down the side button but the padlock doesn’t open. If someone changed my code why the button goes down? When I try any other number it doesn’t go down. Help please.
Changed the lock numbers on my Master Lock and won't open with the lever. Tried going back to four zeros, but couldn't move the reset button to change it. What do I Do?
Thank goodness no average person would ever think to use videos like these to elevate their understanding of how these devcies work and use them in an appropriate manner.
Thank you for this video! I can't get my lockbox open and have been trying every code I can remember. Based on your video, I bought a pick but somehow bought the wrong one, PR-SS - Peterson Reach Stainless Steel Slender 0.015 Pick, instead of the Peterson 7. It isn't working, do you think I can get it to with this one or do I really need the Peterson 7? Thank you, again!
This is a great video, but the one I bought has keys inside the box but no code for it, LMAO, however, the pick isn't going to fit on the sides of the numbers to get in because the gap is really tight. The only way is to use a piece of paper, I guess. Already tried a few piece of paper but no luck back at it, I guess LMAO
so i changed the code on my key safe and then teated it and it worked. i then installed. chnaged it again and shut it and now i cannot open it and its intalled on my wall. i am almost certain that i toggled the pin inside the safe back off once i had selected my pin.....however. i then shut it....and now it wont open..... i have slownly gone through all digits. i am not noticing specific windings.....and ttying with paper nothing seems to happen.....if for some reason the imternal is still set on the alter pin mode then is it still possible to open!!!? can anyone answer that!!!
It would be worth trying to decode. It might be worth just cutting and replacing. The aggravation isn't usually worth it if you are not familiar. Do not work on locks you don't own
That's so well done thats perfect i find so many good vids on locks but they dont tell you every step and there important no matter how little or simple that can often be the difference from a open or not. perfect no Awesome actually
Hey, I'm here again. I have a problem with picking some locks. I pick every pin, and I can see that they are all down. I use the correct amount of torsion, and I am turning it to the right side. The lock is a Blossom QC0240 (or sth like that) PLEASE HELP I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR 2 WEEKS AAAAAAAAAHAAAAHAAAA
@@HelpfulLockPicker well yes, I do understand that, but this lock has nothing special about it. I bought it for like 3 dollars, and in the name it didn't say anything about being unpickable or really secure.
Some locks do that and usually it would mean you have an over set pin or even a few or, you have a security pin or few which are giving you a fake set. I have one padlock which I very often over set, I run my pick from back to front and feel they are all down (no bumps when dragging back the pick) and if I feel that I take the pick out, I very very slightly release the tension until one pin pops up and that usually opens the lock, if that doesn't work I release again until another pin pops up and the lock usually opens. If I do this twice and it doesn't open I just release all the pins and try again. There are some great videos out there on over set pins and security pins which give counter rotation; I suspect you need to look into these and practice, it's a feel that someone can explain but it takes some time for yourself to actually get the feel.
How to invade a home in 3mins... Never buying a box again and getting the one I got off my F*cking property. Remember, just because you lost the combo and need to break into it via UA-cam, doesn't mean someone ain't looking for a way to break into it to steal all your shit while your visiting the in laws.
You can still use a device such as this. Either hide the key box where it is difficult to find. Or have a second hidden locked box that contains your house keys and put a key to that hidden locked box in your device.
I don't whee these "reviews/comments come from but: I spent $20.00 to get a Perterson 7, 0.015 hook lock pick tool. Watched your video many times. Your video is not clear on WHAT you are putting tension on. Needless to say, I tried for 45 minutes to get your method to work. Dismal failure. Would not work. Then, I watched another video of a guy picking the same lock with a piece of plastic. I wasted $20.00. Very frustrated!
That is what I thought. Why have this box if you tell people how to get in it. This is so fun! Is he kidding? Considering he said this is the most popular lock in the U.S.
The main purpose of this video is to demonstrate that these sorts of devices are not foolproof. However, these devices can still be very useful when used in an appropriate manner. It just requires a little bit of constructive thinking on your part.
Thank you for sharing but fortunately this information is only for people to practice the hobby and not for opening locks in use or ones they do not own
You’re straight up a lifesaver! We got locked out of our friends vacation house and nobody knew the key lock combo! Thank you for posting this!!!🎉
Thank you for the kind words. Just remember to not pick locks in use and ones that you do not own
How can you do it without the tools ?
By guessing or just trying every number from 0001 to 9999. Will take a very long time.

So in real life scenario, do I have to remove door handle to place on table?
100% you do! 😆
That was my first thought as well. It actually makes getting through a door much easier.
My thoughts exactly 😆

Thanks for showing all of the crooks in the world how to break into our homes.
Luckily this is only for locksport
Bruh. Locks only work on honest people - the crooks are breaking windows and cutting bolts.

Fkn inches. Use mm for things this thin.

I don't know if he has an older model of this lock but I have 2 of them and the pick doesn't fit between the combination wheel and the housing.

Isn't there a version of this lock that bolts to the wall rather than having a shackle?
I believe there are several different formats

Its strange that the code was the same as the publication date of the famous treatise by Adam Smith entitled "upon the wealth of nations"
Thanks for sharing. This was the lock box my friend acquired after buying her house and lost the code.
No wonder masses of householders with this lock in america got BURGLED😂😂😂
That was great thanks, but could you just smash it open with a hammer, looks like it's made of plastic?
Its made is die cast aluminium.
from now onward I will stop using such kind of key box. it is horrible to leave a key outside for people to decode and go in my house,....

You can still use a device such as this. Either hide the key box where it is difficult to find. Or have a second hidden locked box that contains your house keys and put a key to that hidden locked box in your device.
Did you already know the code?
No, this was a lock box given to me by a friend that needed the key out
