This channel is for cb and ham operators who want to see how their equip sounds from my station in Fort Worth Texas.
Swr/watt meter. Decent and accurate.
This watt meter reads peak, average and reverse to show reflect. For $107 on eBay, this is one of the best meters for relative measurements without breaking the bank. Good solid construction and heavy gauge wire inside. Meter face is nice and big and the controls are easy to understand. I've been in this hobby for 30+ years and have used many different types of meters. This one is an exception. So if you're in the market for a good meter, check this one out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

is BAOJIE BJ-318 has service menu too?
Yes, should be the same combination.
Thanks brother !!!
You bet!
I love my Stryker sr447hpc2
The manufacturer recommends not to power it up without an antenna hooked up . Great piece of equipment.
It was just for show. But yes, you need to have something hooked to it

thx for the gate. keep it up bud!
Will do. Take care.
Sounding good I heard you on trucks gate!! 👍👍👍
So did I. Lol. I was watching live while I was doing the gate. Basically listening to myself.

We had low band 2 way radios done forgot Feq. But like 27 or 28 . Something? But on job site in WV coal mine. Some nights & few days we hear them guys at Oklahoma oil fields great so good we couldn’t hardly use the radio at all. Sometimes specially at night guys in Office on the base station they could talk back to them. They had same problem at times they would hear us great to like we was on job site with them. Bounce off weather fronts what I heard. When we hear them Oklahoma guys good we know we had some bad weather a coming in a few days to our job site. That back in 70’s & 80’s I think them mobile radios was pushing like 50 to 100 watts I bet that base station was really cranking them watts.
He don't know when to shut up either
He needs to shut his stupid mouth
😢 Hard drive is so stupid he's ignorant
Is that worthless piece of crap
He needs his Radio equipment took away from him and And Fine Two
ME? I THINK YOU ROCK THEREFORE YOU RULE NICE SET UP I WOULD TALK ON THAT SET UP LIKE 4 EVER GREAT JOB. 10 4❤
That hard drive in the desert is an ignorant stupid or a piece of crap
450 -500 all day long... Hg are very voltage dependent..yes they will do 500 ..no issue .. now at 13.8v about 380 -425
Skrew ppl man, only people who gonna question are the ones who can even wire a microphone..man just do you and enjoy .. 73 from 9lb hammer Oklahoma
Nice avg power for a 2 pill. Looks like a clean build. I'd say it gettin on down.
Thank you. Average power is 100% dictated by the radio and it's ability to inject audio into the carrier. 4 different radios on the same amp can yield different average power ratings yet still have the same peak or pep power. Thanks for the compliment and stopping by. Smash the bell. More videos coming soon. 73~ AF5GV aka Ruger 1022 Fort Worth.

Lol, thanks Bud.
447hpc rocking
Can you hook up a frequency counter to that radio
Yes. They make one that goes in line with your coax. Just requires 12 volts.
@@1022videogates thanks. But in my opinion it should have a plug in the back
Agreed. This particular radio does not.
They'll take it Not for long Overdriven and no doubt not a clean signal.
Well, my spec analyzer begs to differ. Clean in, clean out. Radio is spotless on scope and SA. Only harmonics from the amp is at 48mhz and it's 67dbm down from principle. As far as overdriven, close. Not quite. I use 5 watt resistors for the feedback circuits. They take the overdrive and nulls it to ground to keep the transistors from being over saturated. Remember, it's not the PEAK power that kills transistors, it's the RMS watts. The radio is only doing 35-40 RMS. No where near max saturation.
Dude that meter only needs 12 volts for the light
Wrong. It requires 12v to work. Period

He's such a has been, hack, hypocrite DB!
Mathematics tells the tale here. I've seen numerous high-wattage output claims from radio using a 16 gauge power cord, a two amp fuse, and a three amp power supply. It's a rule of thumb that the power consumption will be twice the output power. If a radio is putting 100 watts out, it needs at least 200 watts of input. It takes power to make power, and you won't get it from a 16 gauge wire.
Not using a 16 gauge power cord. All my radios have been upgraded to 10 and 8 gauge. I've been a radio tech, power supply and amp builder for 30 years. I know what I'm doing. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm happy to see you spelling it out. Too many people have this idea that they can plug a 100 watt radio into a cigarette lighter plug and talk.
Lol agreed. What cracks me up are the people who think just because an amplifier is doing a certain wattage, they think it's always dirty if it's beyond what the data sheet says. It's entirely possible to fully saturated a transistor, and still have a clean signal. I don't know how many times people say to me, "No way that 2 transistor amp will do 500 PEAK or 250 average. Well, when you bias it, tune it properly and drive it hard at a high voltage, yes you can. Never claimed it was the cleanest, spectrally, but it will produce the watts. My strykers all have 8 gauge wire and they gained 20+ watts output power just from upgrading the wire. I may do a video showing the difference between factory power cords and upgrades. People will lose their minds over 20 watts.
@@1022videogates First things first: datasheets exist as an engineering guideline. They help to select the proper components for the job, whether it's a transistor or a power station step up transformer. Any amplifier, when operated outside of the design parameters, will exhibit a phenomenon called "flat topping". This refers to the output waveform not being a symmetrical sine wave but becoming flat at the peaks. This produces spurious emissions and harmonics and will create false wattmeter readings. Most engineers avoid running things at 10/10ths because the lifespan of a device is drastically shortened.
Absolutely agree. That's why I say in my videos that I don't claim it to be clean, just showing what the device is capable of. It's nice to chat with someone who actually knows how this stuff works. As a builder, people want to see watts, even though I tell them it's not on frequency, they don't care. They just want the watt meter to swing. So me, as a builder, I give them what they want and try my best to ruggedize the equipment the best I can. I only give 90 day warranties minus transistors in all my builds. So far, I've never had anything come back. Everyone seems happy.

Thanks for the sub! Take care, 1022 Fort Worth.
Good job from 101 newyork leave your number l might need a amp thankyou
All I do is 2 and 4 pill amps at the moment because my power supply is only good for 250 amps. I could probably do up to a 6 pill and be okay. Most everyone wants 2 or 4 pill amps.
Thanks for stopping by.
This is andrew newyork 101 leave your number please l might need another amp l have 3 amps now one is a fatboy thankyou
When I'm ready to start accepting orders, I'll post a video with contact info. Still trying to get the business off the ground.
On my 2 pill 2879 amp I am getting PEP 450 watts jamming it into 16 into a 32 all running 15 volts kick ass Video all amps run splatter who cares have fun dropping the hammer!!!!
Amen brother. People think they know what they're talking about yet they've never built a fuckin thing in their life. I built my entire station. Power supply, amps, coax, converted and tuned all my own radios and everything. Most of these guys don't even know the difference between RMS and PEAK power. I laugh when they try to tell me what my equipment is doing. Trust me, I know. I built it.
Splatter is wasted power.
Sweet setup ,Alabama 12 wavin.
Maaaaan this 2970 is loud up here! Wish you would have done a part 3 because we had mother nature, grease monkey in michigan good day
Sorry, resistors
What were your echo settings? Sounded nice. Fun video.

Thank you. I definitely did some mods to open this radio to it's full potential. Installed a diode, removed the limiter, and adjusted modulation through the service menu. The limiter on these radios is entirely too tight. It clamps the audio so badly. I'm not usually big on removing limiters, but it was absolutely necessary on this radio for it to have any decent audio. Still looks nice on the scope as well as spectrum Analyzer. I have all of that info if you're interested.
nice station
