The section on gen 3 Dugtrio really hammers home how fun that format is. The fact that a pokemon with such low basestats and shallow move pool/typing still is such a powerful piece of the metagame.
I would like to mention that Dugtrio is possibly the best Primal Groudon counter (unless it Rock Polishes). Yveltal going for a slow u-turn and then going into Dugtrio to Z Tectonic Rage is actually a really nice niche that also helps with Dusk Mane Necrozma, and Dugtrio's mementos let Xerneas set up and steamroll a team. Overall, Dugtrio's niche in the Ubers format probably should have been brought up as one of the best P Don countermeasures.
@@lyzder7298 what I meant was it pretty reliably takes out Pdon when a mon with momentum forces Pdon in and pivots on the switch. I definitely could've phrased that better though I will admit. Nidoqueen has seen uses in gen 6 as a bulky scarf answer to salamence & won japan national this year in gen 7 due to Very favorable match ups vs many mons in the meta with ground/poison/ice coverage

In all Gen 1 and Firered & Le afgreen you can catch a Lv 29 Dugtrio in the Diglett Cave. That was a huge deal at that point of the game when your best pokemon are likely around 25-30 if you focus on leveling up two or more pokemon (starter plus you've caught in before the second gym). Then you can beat the third electric gym effortlessly with your brand new Dugtrio. Afterwards its dig move could be pretty handy for you to get out of a cave immediately.

you guys do realise that the next video is a patreon pick and should really be waiting to put your comments on that video on that note how good was raikou actually?
I'd like to see Dugtrio get a mega or a True Form. In both of which, It climbs out of the ground, Revealing it to be this HUGE Pokemon whose fingers are Dugtrio. And diglett is the creature's middle finger. So diglett was actually this giant monster giving you the finger this whole time.
MrTuxedo ditto is NO joke. Imposter scarfed ditto is actually really good. It outspeeds ANYTHING without a scarf of its own, since it'll always have the higher speed if the opponent doesn't have speed boost or agility/rock polish. It can be used in pretty much any tier since it no longer has a vulnerable frame before transforming.
Dugtrio is probably one of the very few Pokemon that never had a bad sprite since it's inception. It's original Gen 1 sprite still looks pretty good (the front) and it's Yellow version sprite was the best in my opinion. In all honesty, this is my favorite Pokemon even with it's not so stellar stats. It was very good in Generation1 for the main story and it is the very reason why I love the Ground type.
Mathew Ricafrente I want game freak to reveal that, and they had the chance to, but they didn't. Alolan dugtrio has a kinda interesting lore, in the sense that I learned something from it, but y'all should know the body is what we care about, and you failed horribly at showing it.
Mathew Ricafrente however, I have a theory. Maybe it's three headed, and it definitely has claws, getting moves like slash, and scratch. And speaking of claws, I named a sandslash NAILS.
In gen 6 onwards it's outclassed by mega sable as a magic bouncer due to its bulk, 1 weakness, and ability to use prankster before deciding to go mega. Mega absol has good damage output, but it doesn't switch in to many of the best rockers, plus you need to mega evolve it to access the ability. if you predict wrong on your opponent's stealth rocker, you could just get 1-2 shot by a scarf-user.
Nick Flinn Garbage, too many weaknesses and it's slow as hell, too many OU Pokémon that can destroy it like Heatran, Landorus T, Volcarona, Celesteela, both Mega Charizard X and Y, etc. if you're wondering what tier is Parasect in, it's in PU, being 4X weak to both Fire and Flying and having low speed isn't great at all, whatever it does, other Pokémon can do its role better, the one good thing it has is Spore, but other Pokémon having Spore can do better like Breloom and Amoongus.
“The dangerous PIKACHU!”

i remember randomly having a dugtrio on my first team in gen 1 when i was a kid, he was a workhorse
How good was Beedrill actually? I will not give up.
Ariados is a wall against beedrill espscially cause you can teach it psychic
really bad until it got it's mega form, after which it was just ok
Gen 1 Twineedle/Pin Missle OP please nerf.
phnexOice Being good in UU (basically Gen 4 OU) is being really good
Awesome, so Pinsir next everyone?
Poor mans heracross until its mega. Then its god bug.
That's a funny way of spelling Mega Pinsir.
The section on gen 3 Dugtrio really hammers home how fun that format is. The fact that a pokemon with such low basestats and shallow move pool/typing still is such a powerful piece of the metagame.
And it also shows how fucking annoying Dug is
It's a fun format but definitely not because of that lol
How good was beedrill actually?
Now do marowak, also I did not see this one coming, I didn't know dugtrio could actually be any good!
Maybe not a counter but an incredible revenge killer, and can get in with momentum as well (I even ran - speed Yveltal on this one team specifically to outslow 0 ev speed Pdon and pivot into Duggy for free).

Love your vids btw
Gotta love that op wall boj in gen seven ou
Hey comrade
Given how powerful Arena Trap is, I'm surprised no one has tried to make Eviolite Trapinch work.
It work on nfe www.smogon.com/dex/ss/pokemon/trapinch/
Too slow
Focus Sash is the better item
How GOOD was *Persian* Actually Please? We should finish off the rest of Gen 1 and while the *Classy Cat* may not be the best Pokemon, it is still decent and would still make a good episode as he is a King of Critical Hits 😀!
yeah!!!! 😍😍😍😍😉
@@raphaelkgh218 That's the Spirit! Upvote comments that are for Persian and comment you want him as well to increase our chances 😀!
was kind of good in gen 1 with those crits and then power creep came around.
good in gen 1 and then fell off the face of the earth after
How good was misdreavus actually??

Dugtrio in his 3D models: *They're grooving*
How GOOD were the Legendary Beasts ACTUALLY?
Everyone is solid, Entei is underrated because the best Entei is a promotional one with Flare Blitz, Extreme Speed, Stone Edge and shiny adamant Nature. What's not to like?
DJ Coleman didn't he already do that?
@@someguyontheinternet5002
Nah, not yet. They've been mentioned quite a lot, (Well two of them have) and it's become a habit of mine to comment it on every new False Swipe video. I literally can't stop myself.
YESYESYES
DJ Coleman my habit is asking for Farfetched
WEEZING AND MAROWAK
I forgot about marowak. The legacy that pokemon has definitely deserves a video.
But that's that's the actual last 2 gen 1 pokemon that had some importance in competitive pokemon after gen 1.
Nidoqueen has seen uses in gen 6 as a bulky scarf answer to salamence & won japan national this year in gen 7 due to Very favorable match ups vs many mons in the meta with ground/poison/ice coverage
Broadbull, Enabler of Uncounted Combos where do you look up stuff like this? Just curious. :)
trainer tower has a lot of it but it's mostly from memory since I follow VGC and watch vods of tournaments from all over the world here on yt & on twitch as they happen as well as playing, the Japan Qualifier final this year was really something, iirc Nidoqueen took all 4 kos on the opposing team in the final game
I just want to say, You Guys are one of my favorite PokeTubers. A fresh format. Silly yet serious. Also...How GOOD was Golem ACTUALLY?
Nate Whitsell been waiting for golem last month so hope get him soon
He did Rhydon/Rhyperior already. They played basically the same role except Rhydon/Rhyperior was way better...
better than cringe worthy, making most collabs other channels with TOP 10 POKEMON MY FRIEND LIKES THAT I HATE or TOP 10 POKEMON FROM ROUTE 44 or some other dumb shit made from pure lazyness
Dugtrio has always been my favourite Pokémon. Thanks a ton for finally making a video about it!
As of Gen VII, Ghost types can escape Arena Trap and Shadow Tag, making Aegislash extra slippery.
How good was Beedril actually
That's a funny way of spelling Mega Beedrill.
Regular Beedrill? Trash. I love Beedrill, it's one of my favorite bug types, but it was very bad competitively.
He was right when he says that it picked up usage because now Dugtrio is also banned in Gen 4 OU
How GOOD was Weezing?
Legitimately curious
How GOOD was Beedrill ACTUALLY?
Im not giving up FSG
I loved catching lv 33 dugtrios in Diglett's Cave. It was a nice 4th pokemon to catch and use
How good was beedrill actually

That's a funny way of spelling Mega Beedrill.
How good was Weezing actually please I been waiting forever
IKR?????
No
Look at that. An Gen. 1 Pokemon that has gotten alot better after it's first 2 gen. I remember facing one of them in Firered & Leafgreen and they aren't fooling around thanks to there Arena Trap ability and it's movepools.
How good was mawile actually?

How good was gallade ACTUALLY?
you guys do realise that the next video is a patreon pick and should really be waiting to put your comments on that video
on that note how good was raikou actually?
Phipy 182 stop making sense
I'd like to see Dugtrio get a mega or a True Form. In both of which, It climbs out of the ground, Revealing it to be this HUGE Pokemon whose fingers are Dugtrio.
And diglett is the creature's middle finger.
So diglett was actually this giant monster giving you the finger this whole time.
How good was Beedrill ACTUALLY?
yes, I'm giving up on the legendary beasts after 3 months
orcawhale5123 Awful every gen, until gen 6, where it became relatively meh
boosted in gen 7 , mega speed buff
Trash for five generations. It became pretty good with its Mega spamming U-Turn amap.
Legendaries are boring as fuck
TheNameIsMorg4n how so? If they are in OU they don’t automatically become op..
HOW GOOD WAS GOLEM actually?!
This is reason why Arena Trap was banned from OU in gen 7. It allowed Dugtrio beat Heatran and Toxapex if they don't have a Shed Shell.
The animated sprites look like Dugtrio is dancing to the music.
Mole mole n moley be thrashed n trapping
How GOOD was Ninetails ACTUALLY?
How good was Ditto ACTUALLY
We all need another joke pokemon
MrTuxedo ditto is NO joke. Imposter scarfed ditto is actually really good. It outspeeds ANYTHING without a scarf of its own, since it'll always have the higher speed if the opponent doesn't have speed boost or agility/rock polish. It can be used in pretty much any tier since it no longer has a vulnerable frame before transforming.
@@peanutbutterpikachu oh yeah I didnt even think about that, oops but come on its Ditto just look at it
MrTuxedo Should be saved for next years April Fools.
A joke pokemon? Farfetch'd
Ditto is far from a joke Pokemon.
Unless its transforming into another trash Pokemon
how good was persian actually¿¿
Dugtrio is probably one of the very few Pokemon that never had a bad sprite since it's inception. It's original Gen 1 sprite still looks pretty good (the front) and it's Yellow version sprite was the best in my opinion. In all honesty, this is my favorite Pokemon even with it's not so stellar stats. It was very good in Generation1 for the main story and it is the very reason why I love the Ground type.
What does Dugtrio's underground body look like ACTUALLY?
Mathew Ricafrente I want game freak to reveal that, and they had the chance to, but they didn't. Alolan dugtrio has a kinda interesting lore, in the sense that I learned something from it, but y'all should know the body is what we care about, and you failed horribly at showing it.
Mathew Ricafrente however, I have a theory. Maybe it's three headed, and it definitely has claws, getting moves like slash, and scratch. And speaking of claws, I named a sandslash NAILS.
a giant pair of testicles
Everyone knows there's a Brock under every Dugtrio.
YES THANK FOR VID!!
now how about electabuzz/electavire
Absol is a really interesting mon. How good was it actually?
It sucked but I wanna see it anyway cuz it's my favorite mon lmao
In gen 6 onwards it's outclassed by mega sable as a magic bouncer due to its bulk, 1 weakness, and ability to use prankster before deciding to go mega. Mega absol has good damage output, but it doesn't switch in to many of the best rockers, plus you need to mega evolve it to access the ability. if you predict wrong on your opponent's stealth rocker, you could just get 1-2 shot by a scarf-user.
With super luck and access to psycho cut night slash and slash? OP at times
I would say it was pretty good in gen 4 uu. That high attack stat+ suckerpunch is pretty nasty
@@remig0ld_641 dude slash?

I love Dugtrio so much. Amazing in ADV and I had a pretty strong Dugtrio in Emerald Kaizo.
sounds like you're missing another ground type... How good was Marowak anyways?
How good was Parasect actually?
Nick Flinn Garbage, too many weaknesses and it's slow as hell, too many OU Pokémon that can destroy it like Heatran, Landorus T, Volcarona, Celesteela, both Mega Charizard X and Y, etc. if you're wondering what tier is Parasect in, it's in PU, being 4X weak to both Fire and Flying and having low speed isn't great at all, whatever it does, other Pokémon can do its role better, the one good thing it has is Spore, but other Pokémon having Spore can do better like Breloom and Amoongus.
12 bladed Owl its speed is low enough for trick room viability, maybe. If you can switch it in for free, it can just shut that shit down with a spore.
And now gen 3 is the only remaining gen without a trap ban, R.I.P dugtrio. You were cool
Honestly hope it gets banned there lol
