My theory is Shanks has an older brother. Shank’s is the illegitimate son of Garling with a most likely dead slave mother, similar to Bonney. That’s why he was offered as a prize in the box. I can’t rationalize any other reason a world noble would be offered other than “dirty blood”. Shank’s older brother is the legitimate heir to the figarland family, a full blooded celestial.
Shanks indeed does has evil twin, but it's not the one who was talking with Gorosei. His brother is Blue-haired Banks, and he is yet to be introduced along with Buggy's red-haired brother, Shuggy, in upcoming One Piece Movie: Blue
@@Kais.K I know you're joking that OP's joke is more believable, but it would be cool if Shanks actually had a brother. The world government would be even more stacked.
something you didn't even mention: in the scene where "shanks" talks to the gorosei he is also conveniently wearing a cloak so we can't see if he is missing an arm or not
I was just about to comment that! Cuz if we think Oda has enough attention to detail to exclude the scar then I think the same logic can be applied to the comically oversized cloak "Shanks" was covered in
The cloak thing also suggests that whoever it was came discreetly that wanted to hide their identity. So, if it was a twin celestial dragon brother, then why would he bother with wearing a cloak?
@@dafeels3085They mention something along the lines of considering his status he shouldn’t be talking politics. I think as a holy knight he should carry out the orders of the elders not be telling them his opinion and so he came in secret to prevent other holy knights from being privy to his visit with the elders.
The pictures are not from the same angle. Look at the gap between the end of the eyebrows and the top of his nose. The one with the scar is larger indicating that it facing more towards us.
@@nonyabusiness366 I mean the anime did a front close up of Shanks face and they still chose not to show his scar, I'm not fully sold on the theory but that is suspicious
Honestly I encourage anyone who thinks this theory is too far fetched to rewatch that scene in the anime. The way the camera deliberately swings around shanks and avoids showing the scar is really obvious imo
@@enas_one All of the holy knights normally wear cloaks based on the silhouette we have seen and current Garling. Could also be to protect him from being seen by anyone without permission while at reverie
@@ashutoshswami5067 Whole Mariejois is based on Rome. Gorosei are named after Roman gods, Imu Nerona is Nero (the guy who burned Rome) and Figarland name is specificaly describing that Romulus and Remus event because of the Fig+Garland. Could be a major hint for the "twin" theory. We already got some other hints for the "twin" theory with that "Shanks" Gorosei meeting and that weird stopping of Kaido before Marineford. That was in the New World, faar away from Marineford (other side of Red Line) and he wasnt even damaged. I think the twin stopped Kaido to save the Marines
And I was the very few first to buy into those stocks. I’m already a millionaire for the value now, I’m waiting to be completely revealed to make myself a billionaire 🎉🎉🎉
Really surprised you didn’t mention his arm either for that scene. Shanks has 3 key identifiers: his face scars, his arm, and his hair which has literally created his epitaph. In the scene with the gorosei, we don’t see the scars, we don’t see the fact that his arm is missing, and they do not call him by his name, title as yonko, or epitaph of Red Hair, like most people refer to him as. To go 0/3 in those categories in that scene is crazier than any theory in my mind.
2 of these are easily explainable He is wearing a cloak to hide his appearance so obviously we wont see his arm. For the name thing, we see his face in the very last panel of the chapter, so Oda wont spoil who it is due to the dramatic paneling of the page to give max impact to the reader. The scar thing is due to the angle of where we are looking at him.
@@SUPERVEGETTO92 right but that’s my point. He is wearing a cloak, and his arm(s) are covered. Intentional or not those are the facts and his missing arm can’t be used to identify him. Even the anime goes out of the way to avoid showing his scar; whether it’s just the angle or not, we don’t see it, and it cannot be used to identify him. And again, whether it’s just dramatic paneling or intentional, his name is not used, and can’t be used to identify him. That’s a lot of coincidences in one short scene
okay but a counterpoint... why would they need to? why do they need to say "shanks..." when we can clearly see that it's him? i'm talking about Oda here lol. why would Oda state the obvious? that doesnt mean it's not Shanks, it just would be bad writing to have it be spelled out to us. we know it's Shanks. that's all there is to it
@@gwen6622that’s not the point though. All key identifying features of Shanks are left ambiguous for a reason. If Oda wanted us to know that it was Shanks for sure, he would have included a detail like the scar or missing arm, or at least had one of the gorosei refer to him as a yonko or call him red-haired. Because none of them are present, the fact that this could be someone other than Shanks himself seems pretty likely.
@@kuhplow8026 no lol. that's a really childish and insane way to think about things. you know what the identifying feature of Shanks we were shown was? his fucking face lol. imagine Oda in that moment drawing Shanks's face and then being like "oh i better show the scar so that people don't think this is Shanks's super secret evil twin!" lmao. you cant be serious
The Gorosei's dialogue in chapter 907 though suggests that whoever it was came "all this way" and normally wouldn't just stroll in. The existence of other Figarlands is definitely possible, I don't think the dialogue quite supports that person being a God's Knight.
Maybe they exaggerated a bit and Shanks' brother lives at the bottom of the castle or somewhere close to Pangaea castle. So he had to make his way to the castle and then to the upper floors where the room of authority is.
he probably spies on the revolutionary and then he came across a poster of someone who looks like him and thought damn what did i do to get this bounty but then notices the scar and goes back all the way to mariejois covering his face to chat with the elders about who shanks really is
@@minorityzoro He probably didn't just realize who Shanks is because Shanks has been a yonko for years at this point. I think the brother theory makes a lot of sense for all the reasons morj stated, but just doesn't make sense in the context of the actual conversation that they had (as short as it was for us)
If there is someone who looks like Shanks walking around Marie Joah that's cause a lot of confisuin and trouble no ? Especially because of Shanks bounty poster So maybe he is hiding (?) as a secret trump card
Another thing to consider is if it was Shanks' brother who met with the Grosei, which I’m inclined to believe it is, the pirate he wanted to talk about is certainly Shanks. This seems to be more narratively fitting than the previous interpretation that it was Shanks meeting to discuss Blackbeard or Luffy.
Totally disagree, unlike Doflamingo whos father was just a random celestial dragon who decided to leave the holy land together with his family, Shanks father is a holy knight, still active, even though Shanks decided to remain a pirate, due to some circumstences he ended up on a pirate ship, that's why Sengoku went along with Shanks request to end the war in Marineford and that's why Goroseis accepted to meet with him in Marijoe. Shanks doesnt have a twin/not twin brother. Thanks to his fathers position, he has some privileges that the other pirates don't and will never have.
Neither can you prove that Shanks has an evil twin/sibling, nor can you prove he doesn't. It all depends on Oda at the end of the day. Also you only addressed a single point out of like the 5 or more points he made. Why does Shanks have a dead or alive bounty if he's so freely able to keep a relationship with the Gorosei? Why does his scar not show on his side profile in the panel when it did in the past multiple times? Why do the Gorosei not call out his name or titles even once throughout the entire time he was there? Why does the silhouette have a saber identical to Gryphon? And many more.
Also, from how Figarland executed Mjosgard, he says something along the lines about if you support those who are below the Celestial Dragons, you are even worse than those vermins. That shows his strong beliefs in the superiority of being a Celestial Dragon, and him giving Shanks an exception would go against what he believes.
Conspiracy theory: the Sea King that took Shank's arm delivered it to the WG and then Vegapunk developed a Shanks clone to lead the new gen God Knights
He is also the man marked by flames. When Blackbeard's crew was talking about the man marked by flames and the final poneglyph, they theorized that the final poneglyph is in the hands of the government. Shanks' twin is that man. They specifically mentioned he sails a black ship with black sails, and this guy wears black robes as well. His role is to sail around in that black ship in order to prevent anyone from being able to find the final poneglyph that he has in his possession. It also makes sense in regards to Whitebeard's statement about his scar hurting when looking at Shanks. The last known location of that poneglyph was Fishman Island, which happened to be Whitebeard's territory. Perhaps he scarred Whitebeard when taking the poneglyph?
@@koolkid533not necessarily if they keep it away from mariejois then it keeps the general population of celestial dragons oblivious to what’s rly going on and the void century. also if they leave it on the sea they could use it as a trap and as a way to know who’s close to finding the one piece
I always thought about what whitebeard said about his scar and I always thought he was talking about Garling since they fought in god’s valley and young Garling looks identical to shanks
@@koolkid533 in theory yes but moving it around continually is smarter which means that its never in one place for too long and its indestructible so they dont want actual pursuers or rogue celestials like don quixotes to stumble apon it and they can just delegate the task to some haxor leet character who can one tap anyone trying to get it, it also could be just some outsider given the task of protecting it and they get celestial protection and immunity/benefits or a set amount of money whilst they drag it around the seas
Nah, makes no sense for the Burn Scar man to be the Silhouette man. The Burn Scar man is said to be holding the last poneglyph, and from how it is stated, he kind of protects or takes care of it. If he was a contender for the One Piece, which the Silhouette man is, the Burn Scar man would be making moves and actually be participating in the race instead of remaining at a place taking care of the poneglyph.
You forgot that Whitebeard says his injuries hurt when looking at Shanks face back when they met pre time skip. This could have been a major hint looking back at it.
The man marked by flames is presented as a caretaker or a protector of the last poneglyph, not a contender for the One Piece. It's very obvious both are different entities.
20 years in and we know next to nothing about Shanks, it would be dumb for it to be that hollow of a character. I'm hoping that Twin idea is just to throw people off, maybe the Twin is actually a nice guy and is warning people about Shanks actually being kind of evil. Luffy having his last opponent be the guy that got him started on his journey would be kind of cool
@ProtomanButCallMeBlues I honestly think THAT would be hollow bc it's so predictable. Virtually everyone has basically said :either BB kills Shanks, Shanks fights Luffy in a Davy Back fight, or Shanks turns out to be a villain," and I think of the 3 options, evil Shanks would be the most hollow bc there'd be no buildup towards it. It's like when you have an entire story happen, and then the ending is "it was all a dream." It feels like it came out of nowhere. I think evil twin, while cliche, would be the best of both worlds, and maybe if evil Shanks is the one to kill, or at least defeat, Shanks, that would be better, imo.
It's possible but they say "Why did you come all this way?" and mentions he should have nothing to do with politics. That doesnt sound like they're talking to a celestial dragon. That image of a Shanks lookalike, the silhouette, is suspicious, but I dunno.. doesnt add upp with the gorosei meeting shanks scene imo
@@cowdyayaad6378 why wouldnt they send him to clean up pirates I wonder? He could end everyone except yonko easily. But I guess it could be retconned, like Sabo not trying to save Ace
Its more likely, as some on this comment section have said, that he is a god's knight and as such is usually out there serving imu/the 5 gorosei, so it would be like if an fbi agent came up to the president and started giving his opinions on policy
Omg... I just realised, luffy never saw shanks with his scar right? So if he met "evil shanks" there's a lot of potential in the confusion of the meeting
An easy counter to this would be that if Shanks brother is part of the celestial dragons, why would he have to cover his body in a cloak, that to me signals that whoever it is doesn't want to be recognised by the rest of the celestial dragons hence hiding his identity, if this was shanks holy knight brother why would he do that? he would've just rocked up with his normal clothes.
Because he is needed to appear like he could be Shanks is the most likely reason if this is true... But maybe he was undercover on the "mortal" world and had just come back, IDK.
Remember in the flashback how all the inferior celestial dragons were crazy about Garling, screaming and all that? Dude has the same problem and didn't want those inferior nobles making a ruckus on his way there.
To hide the fact he’s not missing an arm from us, the readers. And the Gorosei mention “given his status” he shouldn’t be dealing with politics, it’s likely that God’s Knights aren’t to get involved in the affairs of the government, & act purely as police. It’d be like if a cop went up to congress and decided to give his opinion on how things should be done
Shanks meeting with the Gorosei is intriguing, it raises all sorts of questions. Why would an Emperor go to parley with his greatest enemies, and why would they let him? Oh, it turns out they didn't, it was a character we had no clues about prior to this point meeting with them because they're his boss. Same with the silhouette--we already know there's one guy who looks like Shanks working for the Celestial Dragons, why be so secretive about there being a second one? Shanks having a brother is a fine plot point in a vacuum, but it's the most anticlimactic answer given the information we've been provided.
Alot of people thought Shanks was evil or he will turn on luffy, well there you have it, this makes perfect sense. Instead of changing Shanks, let him have a brother that is pure evil and extremely strong like Shanks
It's crazy how from time to time people that make absurd unsubstantiated theories actually end up being right by pure chance. When we only had one panel with shanks without the scar, him having a twin was on par with many other schitzo theories that frankly don't even sound like they're in line with Oda's way of writing at all. Now it's starting to become more believable each passing chapter. And this is not even the first time something like this is happening in recent years
@@murderman8578 the one piece sea theory has never been absurd, nor that much unsubstantiated unless you go far back enough. And also not far from Oda's style. Not a schitzo theory at all, it was extremely reasonable from day 1
It’s not confirmed that Garling is Shanks is father right?? Why does he keep saying that lmao they just share the same family name, garling could be shanks’s weird uncle
Given that this was happening during Reverie I think hiding his appearance would make a lot of sense. There is no way that the news wouldn't print about this if he were to appear normally. His identity might be a secret for a reason
Probably, but the anime forgetting it as well is kinda weird, it even begins the shot in a more frontal start. We also never got a resolution to that scene, what was the point of it if not a foreshadow of something? The old demons are already done fighting Luffy and we still don't know who the pirate "Shanks" wanted to talk about was .
Actually there’s a lot of evidence that Blackbeard’s inconsistent teeth is a clue to his original devil fruit/ability that lets him have multiple devil fruit powers and never sleep.
Blackbeards teeth might actually be supportive of a theory that he is multiple personalities in one. When the number of holes in his teeth switches his behaviour switches too
@@mrptr9013 Have you seen the episode where zoro from another universe got lost and ended up in this universe? I think it is deliberate in the shanks seen but anime do tend to do mistakes often.
Everytime you say "the silhouette must be hidden for a good reason" I'll be there to say "Greenbull". Why would he have to be a god's knight? We already have Sabo an Dragon which are leader and subordinate on the same side. Why not another marine or rev actually?
What if shanks isn't even figarlands son, but actually a clone of figarland himself? Could explain why they looked identical, and this character could just be another clone they made after losing shanks.
@@vn9574 tbh i think the twin thing is more likely, the only known clone is of buckingham stussy and she along with vegapunk and caeser created it with MADS. That came after the rocks pirates fell at gods valley, and we know that shanks was found after the god valley incident.
“It’s not the tool, it’s how you use it” A trope is a trope. It’s how it’s implemented that makes it good or bad. And breadcrumbs and microscopic hints is a genius way to use the trope.
@@justno984Tropes can NEVER be bad. Only execution matters when it comes to the quality of writing. Plenty of well written series in entertainment media have used overrated or overused tropes, but their execution of it was done well.
I feel like there's a couple massive holes in this theory. 1. While it might seem strange for Shanks to meet with the Gorosei, it would be much weirder for that person to be a Holy Knight. Why would someone who lives in Mary Geoise need to wear a cloak? It seems much more strange to me for someone to hide their identity in friendly territory than it is for someone to hide their identity in enemy territory. 2. While Celestial Dragons lose their status if they choose to live as a human, they do seem to still have some sway in the Government. Despite the fact Doflamingo lost his status, he was still able to manipulate the papers in order to trick Law something that was noted to be something only World Nobles are capable of. There's also the case that, while the Gorosei usually refer to all human life as "insects," they only refer to Bonney (who wasn't even born in the Holy Land) as a "little girl." It seems to me that if you've made enough of a name for yourself, your lineage may be recognized but you still won't be considered one of them. In Star Wars terms, they're essentially on the council but without the rank of Master. This is not saying that it's impossible for Shanks having an evil twin or sibling (it would be really intriguing as cliche as it sounds), but I feel like some of the logic in this video is a bit flawed.
When you look like one of the four yonko walking around the holy land hiding your face would save you a lot of trouble. Especially if you are actively trying to stay hidden.
@@parzavaal5335He wouldn’t have the scar though and he’d have both arms. On top of that, realistically Shanks to the CD’s has to look like this character(if he exist) or they’d think he resembles Garling in his prime. Shanks has only been a yonko for 4-6 years. His bounty was only 1 billion at 27 years old. Theres no way to say CD’s even knew what he looked like until he was in his 30s. By that time his brother would be known in Mary Geoise?
What I saw analyzed on another video is that the man who approaches the Gorosei uses an entirely different manner of speaking in the original Japanese, something shanks has never used as he speaks exclusively informally.
The big thing that points against the twin/brother theory is why would he need to obscure himself with a cloak? Celestial dragons are mostly ignorant towards any people on the "lower" seas, so how many actually know about Shanks and also the twin/brother can change his hair style to look a bit different. And for his role in the story, does he really need much of story? And even if we give him a "bigger" role in the story, his father fits the role. He is old, yes, but you can get around that by a secret Figarland bloodline plot armor that if they use both arms they get stronger, so Shanks cannot use his actual full power but Garling can which will make them equal. Well or Oda find another way for amnesia to work that out😂
personally i like the idea that if it is a twin then him and shanks are working together to potray a single person or shanks was abandoned in that chest because the other brother was deemed "superior"
I think the hidden man in the spread is the one who was shown in thr gos valley small flashback during kuna's backstory. Which could also lead to him not being Shanks's twin but another figarland or someone entirely. Maybe the man with brun scars?
The Shanks meeting with the gorosei has an extra stubble of hair further back on his jawline compared to how the rest of the shadows are drawn on him. The Shanks we know lacks that "patch" of hair save his goatee
Small detail that adds to this: the shadowed character is also holding their sword in their left hand, which is the dominant hand Shanks had before he lost that arm to the Lord of the Coast
It’s more of a stretch to say it is than it isnt shanks. You have to go out of your way to explain why it’s shanks with the fact he doesn’t have a scar even though every time shanks’s right side profile is drawn his scar is included, why the Gorosei would let him meet with them & the silhouette in the last chapter have the same sword design as shanks & figarland. When looking at all the context, like you’re supposed to do when coming to a conclusion, the most common sense opinion would be it’s not shanks; You would have to ignore evidence & context to think it is shanks. Trying to say it is shanks makes you sound more crazy than saying it’s not.
@SilentiumCivis Its been officially confirmed by Road to Laugh Take that is IS Shanks. YOU guys are the ones making reaches here. The scar thing doesnt indicate anything, Oda could have simply now drawn it because either of the angle of tje face or he simply didnt care to. Theres literally no plot hole if its shanks but several if it isnt. Like the comment about him coming all the way to Mariejois, him wearing a cloak to hide his appearance, him looking identical to Shanks despite raised in a totally different enviroment. The Gorosei saying he shouldnt get involved in politics even though the god knights ARE involved in politics.
The dialog of the gorosei wouldnt make sense if that person was a celestial dragon living in Marygeois. Cause going all that way there would only make sense for someone living in the blue sea
It really doesnt have to be even a twin. In a story with clones it could just be a clone where the celestial dragons are trying to make the perfect holy knight or something along those lines They could just be clones of figurland garling But that's why they needed vegapunks science to remove the will of clones. They made clones before that had their own will and left to go on and cause problems for them
What I feel it’s cool about this theory is the Dressrosa parallel. We already knew that Dressrosa spoils the end war in some way. But with this theory, Shanks is reverse Doflamingo. Doffy is a bad celestial dragon with a good father and brother that wanted to go back to Marijoa. Shanks would be a good celestial dragon with a bad father and brother, and he despises Marijoa.

Morj completely missed the original sillouette of the Gods Knights which straight up PROVES that the silhouette guy IS the leader of the Gods knights 😂
The original silhouette was a prototype of garling and the god knights, not all silhouettes are gonna be one to one to the character reveal so oda didnt draw garling's jester like pompadour in the silhouette dragon brings them up, u can see the same kind of silhouette next to the shanks looking silhouette in 1083 as the second one to the left in the first panel of 1096
@mokaljordan it could be either, 1096 is in the past and Garling's son would stand like him in present days. it could be Garling or it could be Shank's brother. We don't know that Garling is a leader of the God's knights currently and the fact the Oda revealed what he looks like so soon after kinda proves that its not him in 1083, in the same part of the story he siilouetted the Gorosei's transfotmations in a way that hints at their original form so why would be hide Garling's hair of all things?
@@adoniscreed4031 the garling silhouette in 1083 was cuz oda wanted the readers to pick up that that individual was shanks relative but the community thought it was his brother, the pompadour would of thrown us off and no one would think hes related to shanks, they would probaly draw a comparison to kyoshirou/denjirou cuz the readers assumed that dragon was thinking bout the present day god knights but it makes more sense that it was the god knights from 38 or 40 years ago seeing how oda gave us some reveals on what the god knights of that era looked like during the nativr cleansing hunting games which makes me think that oda did that cuz hes either gonna bring back those same god knights aged up 40 years later or have them look the same age if they got the perennial youth surgery from the op op fruit

Everything points to subterfuge, wich makes sense if it is a pirate sneaking into Marijeois. I don't think it was his brother meeting with the Gorousei, but I don't deny there is a brother somewhere.
“Shanks is the son of Figarland Garling.” I feel like I’ve been going crazy for months hearing about this. When did we all decide this was true, no questions asked? Shanks is only implied to be a Figarland, and that was in a non-canon movie. I’m not saying Shanks is definitely not a Figarland, but jumping to conclusions based off of non-canon material makes for weaker theories.
How inbred must the figarland family have too be for shanks father and brother too look exactly like him 😂 It would have too be quite common Unless it is his twin of course which is very likely
Taking down the world government would be very difficult and I believe Oda has plans for a major storyline for the final battle. Not just "these guys fighting these guys", but a complex story-driven arc that would connect the Ancient Kingdom, Rocks, the Gods Knights, Shanks and his family, Cross Guild, Blackbeard, SWORD...there are so many factions and unresolved plot threads that readers overlook. I believe the final war can be far longer than we expect.

@@dafeels3085They mention something along the lines of considering his status he shouldn’t be talking politics. I think as a holy knight he should carry out the orders of the elders not be telling them his opinion and so he came in secret to prevent other holy knights from being privy to his visit with the elders.

The fact that the scar is ALSO missing in the anime, is too huge to ignore.

2 of these are easily explainable
He is wearing a cloak to hide his appearance so obviously we wont see his arm.
He mentioned Figarland looking identical to Shanks multiple times.
It can’t be evil shanks, he doesn’t have a swirly mustache.
So he had to make his way to the castle and then to the upper floors where the room of authority is.
he probably spies on the revolutionary and then he came across a poster of someone who looks like him and thought damn what did i do to get this bounty but then notices the scar and goes back all the way to mariejois covering his face to chat with the elders about who shanks really is
that is my theory because they also gave a resentment towards him. like who said you can leave your post and that did cost them cu sabo sneaked in
@@minorityzoro He probably didn't just realize who Shanks is because Shanks has been a yonko for years at this point.
Especially because of Shanks bounty poster
So maybe he is hiding (?) as a secret trump card
Another thing to consider is if it was Shanks' brother who met with the Grosei, which I’m inclined to believe it is, the pirate he wanted to talk about is certainly Shanks. This seems to be more narratively fitting than the previous interpretation that it was Shanks meeting to discuss Blackbeard or Luffy.
thats the twist I expect from Oda and has been my headcanon for years
Totally disagree, unlike Doflamingo whos father was just a random celestial dragon who decided to leave the holy land together with his family, Shanks father is a holy knight, still active, even though Shanks decided to remain a pirate, due to some circumstences he ended up on a pirate ship, that's why Sengoku went along with Shanks request to end the war in Marineford and that's why Goroseis accepted to meet with him in Marijoe.

@1manshow10 based on Oda's description from the manga realised along with film red (forgot the name)
Interesting
Wouldn’t mariejois be a safer place to prevent someone from finding the road poneglyph than a ship in the middle of the ocean?
@@koolkid533not necessarily if they keep it away from mariejois then it keeps the general population of celestial dragons oblivious to what’s rly going on and the void century. also if they leave it on the sea they could use it as a trap and as a way to know who’s close to finding the one piece

Burn scar is objectively the most important character right now. The silhouette is most likely Burn scar

I always hated the idea that Shanks is just the cool guy/mentor character that dies to the villain. I honestly hope this is true.

The Sillohuette of Gods Knights when dragon mentioned them looked a lot like shanks too
Shanks meeting with the Gorosei is intriguing, it raises all sorts of questions.

We donr know if Fingarland is Shanks's father tho. But it's very plausible that Shanks has a relative.
Given that this was happening during Reverie I think hiding his appearance would make a lot of sense. There is no way that the news wouldn't print about this if he were to appear normally. His identity might be a secret for a reason
With all the timesOda's fucked up which Teeth are missing from Blackbeard's mouth, its safe to say that Shanks scar missing was simply a mistake
Blackbeard's teeth might be a hint at an ability of his.
Blackbeards teeth might actually be supportive of a theory that he is multiple personalities in one. When the number of holes in his teeth switches his behaviour switches too

Yea let’s introduce the brother of a character we’ve been dying to learn more about for 20+ years. Praying this isn’t the case.
Doflamingo was able to manipulate papers because of the secret he knows. Something about the 'Secret Treassure of Mary Geoise' or something.

Yeahhhh the more I look at it, THATS NOT SHANKS

Well technically, in the eyes of the Celestial Dragons, Shanks has a *good* twin.
What I saw analyzed on another video is that the man who approaches the Gorosei uses an entirely different manner of speaking in the original Japanese, something shanks has never used as he speaks exclusively informally.
Just say u got this from dawn dusk
Can’t wait for this theory to be WRONG
Well or Oda find another way for amnesia to work that out😂
The silhouette could be Loki.
The evil shanks also wanted to talk to the gorosei about a “certain pirate”. Probably meant the real shanks.

Small detail that adds to this: the shadowed character is also holding their sword in their left hand, which is the dominant hand Shanks had before he lost that arm to the Lord of the Coast
As interesting as the prospect of Shanks having an evil twin is, I think it's a major stretch to say that's who was meeting with the Gorosei.

Can’t lie. I think I would rather buy into the Luffy egg theory than shanks having an evil brother
The dialog of the gorosei wouldnt make sense if that person was a celestial dragon living in Marygeois. Cause going all that way there would only make sense for someone living in the blue sea
Man marked by flames seems to be out at sea
It really doesnt have to be even a twin. In a story with clones it could just be a clone where the celestial dragons are trying to make the perfect holy knight or something along those lines
They could just be clones of figurland garling
But that's why they needed vegapunks science to remove the will of clones. They made clones before that had their own will and left to go on and cause problems for them
Mr. Morj is cooking.
Figarland has the clone clone fruit and everyone that looks like him is a clone. Shanks is a clone

Morj the Road to Laugh Tale already confirmed it was Shanks talking to the Gorosei.
Thank you!
is there a video or channel linke? would be interested to see that
Those were just rough Sketches taken from Oda notes
The Road to Laugh Tale translation didn't name the guy as Shanks, the statement is "Why is HE allowed to have an audience with the 5 elders?" if anyone is interested, its on Vol.2 Ch. 2
I've watched a japanese youtuber that Shanks doesn't ever use Keigo which is the respectful way to talk in japanese, I doubt he even know how like Luffy, he doesn't use Keigo with WB, Rayleigh, Roger, etc. his speech is just like Luffy, very informal, but he talks in Keigo to the Five elders which is very weird for him, does he respect the five elders? from what we know they aren't the kind of guys who Shanks respects
@@icyu8818Will you like it if Shanks actually have a twin Brother ( Possibly the strongest Gods Knights as we do know Garling maybe the supreme commander but He is Old now )
In the "Road to Raftel" chapters, Oda confirmed it was Shanks the one meeting with the Gorousei, didn't he?
Also, why the cloak, the wet hair? Everything points to subterfuge, wich makes sense if it is a pirate sneaking into Marijeois.
I don't think it was his brother meeting with the Gorousei, but I don't deny there is a brother somewhere.
“Shanks is the son of Figarland Garling.”
I feel like I’ve been going crazy for months hearing about this. When did we all decide this was true, no questions asked?
Shanks is only implied to be a Figarland, and that was in a non-canon movie. I’m not saying Shanks is definitely not a Figarland, but jumping to conclusions based off of non-canon material makes for weaker theories.
Do you think Garling just randomly looks exactly like Shanks for no reason?
How inbred must the figarland family have too be for shanks father and brother too look exactly like him 😂
It would have too be quite common
Unless it is his twin of course which is very likely
If evil Mario is Wario
And evil Luigi is Waluigi
Then evil Shanks is
Wanks
Taking down the world government would be very difficult and I believe Oda has plans for a major storyline for the final battle. Not just "these guys fighting these guys", but a complex story-driven arc that would connect the Ancient Kingdom, Rocks, the Gods Knights, Shanks and his family, Cross Guild, Blackbeard, SWORD...there are so many factions and unresolved plot threads that readers overlook. I believe the final war can be far longer than we expect.
I'd heard the evil twin theory before in passing but never knew or thought about the fact that you can't see his scar in the scene with he elders. That pretty much sold me right there. I'm all on board for this theory being correct now lol. Great vid Morj
All I can say now, we all finally know how it feels like to be fooled by someone who looks like someone we care about in the world of One Piece.
Oden. King Cobra. Moria. We all feel your pain now.
By reading the last chapter 1124 that shadow on the last panel must be the twin which is taunting luffy to come.
I dislike the idea of an evil twin/sibling, but I can't deny that there's evidence for it
Black cape,
Red Hair,
With a lil bit beard,
Most of us already know it's Shanks twin.
That's definitely him.
The one who still trying to complete his 100 years quest.
Wonder how many of these people talking about how the theory is 100% false actually watched the video first. Believe it or not saying theres absolutely no merit or anything to the idea is denial lmao
