Nice job using the Kozama’uka music to showcase these given the lore and context. I absolutely love the Viper swords and their feathered ornaments dye incredibly well.
It's more to do with their hair and not their ears funny enough. For Viera at least they went extra with their hair and didn't design them to split in half (when you where a hat they erase the top part of your hair). So they aren't sure how to implement it cuz the default hairstyles are either too complex or very big once they would escape the helm. But yeah they could have either implemented more inclusive head ware or made more solutions by now... perhaps with lady hrothgars done they can finally sit down and fix it

These are what the guards are wearing(tank set) and was hoping we get them but didn't expect them to be tomes. Was wanting them as lvl 1 glam like how you get the one in Shb.

I have trouble leaving viera, they have so much I like no other race has. Been working on different races but they all just come up short or just doesn't look right. Only time I really would drop is when they finally give us Zero's outfit and viera can't wear the hat though even if they can wear it, can't have hats and earrings together and I like the earring too.

So why exactly they can clip tails through clothing but some races after 3 expansions still can’t wear helmets?

It's more to do with their hair and not their ears funny enough. For Viera at least they went extra with their hair and didn't design them to split in half (when you where a hat they erase the top part of your hair). I want the tank and reaper armor so bad. I wish the casters were a little more like reaper.
Yea we need more cool stuff for healers and less robes
