Seems like it does nothing but attract them near the home and give them food and a place to build their army before attacking.

It doesn't attract them all all but what it does is if the termites wander into it then they will chew it then when you got the inspector to look at it he will be able to do on the wood that you have termites near your house

As the bait gets more moisture into it, it releases CO2 to attract termites away from their original path “the house” and lures them into the station. I agree having monitoring bait is stupid when bait with the active constituent is only a couple dollars more.
It’s for monitoring. Once signs of termites are found you swap with a bait to kill the colony.
They make ones that are baited 247 too.
They have their place and can be use is properly installed and monitored and maintained accordingly. They go directly into the ground, not inside piping.

We use these exact monitors at my company. We inspect them every 3 months for termite activity, if there is then we replace that cartridge with another cartridge that has termite insecticide made in with it. (those are cellulose tablets, cellulose is what the termites eat from wood)
Sentricon systems have 1 million dollar warranties and always contain bait. These are old and once activity is found they replace wood with bait.
Sentricon's a scam too, I installed/monitored them for years, rarely ever got a hit. Went to a customer's house that had a trash bin that he filled with fire wood, he also drilled 3 holes in the bottom to drain rainwater, the termites had built mud tubes all the way to the top log, huge colony, not even a foot away we had a station and another station like 5ft the other way, zero activity. And that's not the only case. Those houses are being eaten up and they're just counting on ppl not noticing the damage
Excellent! So many people do not understand what service they are getting when they purchase a termite protection plan from a pest control company. Most plans just include monitoring, like that station has, and spot treatments when activity is discovered. Ask questions and know what you are signing up for in the pest control treatment plan.
Stayed out an Airbnb recently and these were all around the property, didn't even know they made them before that.
Sometimes termites are hard to find especially if the house is on a slab they are put in the ground to detect termites to know if they are around to take care of them before they damage your house termites travel long distance from the colonies
When I bought my house 15 years ago the bank required me to have the house treated for termites. I paid a guy like $500 for the service and he came out and installed a dozen of these around my house, all for monitoring. He said he’d come back after 6 months to check them but I never saw him again haha.
Sentricon is the only system I would use, I installed and maintained them for a living for 18 months
I know I have termites in my foundation. I see their mounds every once in a while in my rooms. Gives me immense pleasure to pour poison down the holes. I have lost so many valuable books already. Fortunately my house is solid concrete for what its worth

@@pinkpugginz our houses are built with brick and cement. Mine is 100% concrete. Fortunately. I check the few wooden furnitures I have every day for the little buggers. But I had to throw away most of my books- some quite expensive and rare copies. We got rid of all loose old wood and dead plants on the property. Now am mostly worried about the camelthorn tree next to my house. He must be at least a 1000+yrs old😭

they are for monitoring, but can swap that top cap out for active red label
I’ve never personally seen good results from these. Sentricon stations with recruit HD, to me, are much more effective. You have the monitoring capabilities on top of a termiticide

Seems like more of a termite testing container. Checks to see if termites are near your house. If they are then they can treat for them. No wasted treatment if you don't have actual termites.
First of all, Trelona should not be installed into PVC conduit, termites travel through soil, not plumbing. Second of all, it should be sealed firmly into the ground as to not allow air into the bait.

So honey bees are like the dogs of insects. After you juice a lemon a honey bee shows up and wants to lick your fingers. It's wierd, but you can actually tell them to leave you alone and they will. They can also sting you.

It's a monitoring device so the techs can tell if you have a termite problem or not which will save you a crap ton of money on a termite treatment
Those are monitoring stations(black and grey) not bait stations(green). Those are inexpensive compared to true bait stations.

Trelona annuals are black and grey and are true stations with active ingredients at all times. There is annual and quarterly stations. The green ones are sentricon.

It depends on who you are using for your pest control. This guy definitely a scammer if he is installing this stations on customer’s property
No ,you are paying for the constant monitoring.you can't put the bait in the station until you find termites eating on the wood ,you then replace the wood with a bait tube and then place the active termites along with some of the debris which contains pheromones so the termites will then start feeding off the bait.condtant monitoring is crucial for the system to work
We use these ones called trelona packed full of cellulose(what termites are eating the wood/organic matter for) and a poison that transfers through the colony rather quickly. I hate the wood filled ones definitely worth the extra money for the better tubes.
Trelona stations here in Australia uses always active baits otherwise they git hit & missed on inspections.
Well atleast mine are always that way.
Unsure what other companies are doing but they are very good at protecting structures that can't be adequately treated with a liquid barrier

They’re a complete waste of $$$. I was in pest control 22 years. Save your $$ people. Have your house inspected once a year by a state licensed WDO inspector. Takes 4-5 hours for a real
Inspection. You’ll get a complete report. Your monthly bug guy isn’t qualified to inspect, unless he’s certified. Don’t waste your $$ on these stations. The only purpose they serve is to separate you from your $$

That seems kinda pricey tho too, especially if you never even have a problem.
I don't know how you think this is a waste of money when 5-6 hours of a home inspector is probably more than the renewal. The stations are to monitor activities and the technician is supposed to look is areas where termites are likely to be seen anyways. And if the inspector finds a problem(he may not) it'll cost way more then to treat it.

That is the concept .however it can only eradicate the colonies that feed from the bait stations where as liquid termidor is also a bait that you apply as a finished spray under the soil around your foundation.tbis eradicates all termite colonies that crawl through the treated soil.i just thing you have more access to the termites therefore more control or eradication
They are monitoring bait stations. They are to detect the presence of termite, not to kill but to see if you need extermination or mitigation. The plastic vile has a compressed cellulose matrix for termites, so it's true it isn't active, which would be like the human equivalent of laying a hamburger in the middle of a sea of carrots for the termites. It lays surface level on the mulch so that if they are there, they will walk into it and into a PVC drain duct rather than up into the house. Just a little bit of google would have made this video just a little more informative @DanTheBugMan.
Always active stations are better sentricon is the way to go when you are doing bait stations.
Termite bait stations are junk sorry Been in the business for 18 years and have never agreed with putting them out bring termites to the house then charge you big money for a termite job 😉😀
sir if you've been doing this for 18 years. you know that termites are not attracted to bait stations. the only thing that a termite senses is their own scent which is a pheromone sense that they leave behind when they find something they want they're blind and they bump into and that's where they start working

Oh and Ralph yes they are attracted to the bait stations that's what they are designed for in our region there are 15+ colonies per acre of land and each colonie can hold 55k-4+mil
That’s not a baiting station. That’s a monitoring station. Which is an outdated treatment method. Sentricon and trelona stations do not contain wood. They are loaded with full colony eliminating baits that termites prefer to wood. And being in the south with Formosan Termites let me tell you they are game changers and home savers
yea those are old kind , the new ones allow bait from day one ...I believe there called trelona . not bad as a preventive method or if theres a stream or cistern on property 🤔

In my state you're required to truly hold two feet deep every 3 ft and pump 1.5 gallons of chemicals into each hole and your required to do that around the entire house. But every state is different you keep doing you
Now please do a video explaining the annual vs quarterly like you are holding. The annual termite stations has active ingredients in it at all times, and do not have wood.
These are not legal to use in Oklahoma. The one's we use in Oklahoma have two bait cartridges that contain active bait. From the surface they look identical other than labeling and even then they can be filled with always active bait that requires annual inspection. Monitoring stations I agree are a bad cheap idea, on the other hand always active annual stations are a completely different story.

This guys technology is out dated. We use reeling with active ingredients. No one sales these like that and if they are they are scamming you. I have been working st Terminix for 5 years now. Good luck !!

99% of these have the wood soaked in termiticide so when the termites feed on the wood, it kills them. No idea why the one in the video isn't like that.

and the answer a lot of you questions on here that he's not telling is sentricon baiting stations does actually have an active ingredient that kills termites and colony the only reason why that they want to keep using a liquid treatment is because every 5 to 10 years they can charge you the inflation rate on putting out anywhere from 100 to 500 gallons of chemical around the house and that's big money for them and if that trench is not 6 in wide 6 in deep the product will not work and his termite video where he's liquid treating is not 100% properly done

Bait stations do not work I've been in pest control for 13 years now they are just an up sale and most.companies do a renewal if they sell you those stations they never have to spray again they just come once a year and check the stations and you have become a source of free income
