👍 .. looks like everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, in addition to picking up some important life skills. Good advice regarding the post-op 'tick check' .. nasty little blighters.
Thanks for sharing this brother! Looks like you all had a great time and to top it all off ...... to meet Mr wiseman! Pleasure and honour! Great job! Best wishes friend
Firelighting, I see people mucking about with drills, flints, etc...I use a lighter, fire in seconds. 6 P's. Prioe, Preperation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
If your lighter breaks it's good to have a ferrocerium rod that produces sparks of 3000 degrees. Also, it's fun to light fires using a bow drill or ferrocerium rod.
Yes .. a Bic is good. However, 'two is one, one is none'. I use matches as my first option, backed up by a Bic and a Ferro Rod .. have been using matches the past 60 years, well before the butane lighter came onto the scene. Back then, for lighers, we used the cylindrical Ronson with benzine as fuel. I have a Zippo (a Birthday gift) which does service occasionally. That said, its nice to have a selection of ways to create a flame .. flint and steel, ferro rod, bow drill, etc, in the Skills Toolbox. Plus, it's fun using them. Having fun is not a bad thing ..

Do you still give the mora knife survival kit and other bits on your courses?
"flint and steel"...? I can see aferrerod and the scraper, not the flint, which is a stone and the strike and use is different!

That looks like a miserable few days in the cold, damp, rain and wind.

Having fun is not a bad thing ..
@@TheHypernaught 👍 Yep, besides the additional skills, having fun is not a bad idea.
