There are also different fittings for each tiedown type. For example, a chain extension is useful for ratchet tiedowns for extra securement and tightness, and a bar strap with S-hook is more common for cam straps just to secure an item quickly and safely. We recommend using ratchet straps for heavy-duty or oversized loads (think, truck drivers to use on flatbeds or enclosed trailers). Use cam straps for lighter or smaller tie down jobs (to secure a kayak on a truck bed, recreational vehicles, or for fragile cargo). You shouldn't use ratchet straps on a smaller load as it can be overkill, when a cam buckle strap provides sufficient strength and holding power.

I need a couple of cam straps that has about 2 ft of strap made on to the cam buckle with s hooks. The ones I have found all have just 6-8" on them. They are too short to make a wrap or two around my trailer rails.

Also, is there any cam buckles that will let me adjust both straps? Including the strap that stays attached to the buckle?
