What happened to you in that fight right after the megasphere is exactly what happened to me, that massive escalation totally caught me off guard too lol.
This is quite the palette change from the previous maps, which mixes it up quite nice. Love the derp Vytaan moments. Are you the most skilled of all of our fellow YT Doom streamers? Maybe not, but I think you are the funniest, and that keeps me hooked to your streams.
The secrets on this map require you to WANT to enter damaging floor, which imo are the worst kinds of secrets. But it's still a great WAD with excellent MIDIs.
I’ve just finished MAP25 and holy f*** does this WAD get breathtakingly good. No spoilers but Antares saves his absolute best until last! It feels so unusual to play a WAD that just keeps getting better and better the further you go. I guess we have the heck episodes of Doom 1 and 2 for that.
Yeah, this map is so aggressive with the encounters. I particularly like all the demons teleporting at once in that Cyber arena. It just sends you into instant panic. Really doubt anyone would be able to get out of this one alive on their first time.

Vanilla doom/boom/mbf maps are not typically designed around freelook. It's considered cheating by many And in my opinion, looking up and down makes the 2D sprites look awful and harms the art design.
@@briangourley3756 no, yeah yeah I know. But think with me: not using freelook BUT, using auto aim.. isn't the same that NOT using auto aim.. BUT.. with freelook? anyway I'm "gzdoom guy" (quake stuff hehe) so I prefer mouselook with no autoaim (hate hitscanners killing me from whatever and I just looking straight hehee) anyway nice videos man, keep it up! :)
Thanks! Freelook feels weird to me, plus what Brian said. And I like to record demos from time to time so I pretty much always stick to full compatbility :D
@@baskiabo No, auto aim isn't the same thing as freelook, because it has limited range. You can watch decino's playthrough of Going Down map 24 for one example why freelook is considered cheating (another one is BFG floor shot trick).
@@MrTonyFromEarth if you turn autoaim off it's not cheating. I mean, the monsters can shoot you (with precision) while you can't see them: thats why autoaim were designed, so you don't suffer for some engine 'pitfalls'. I'm saying this with gzdoom in mind when you have "real 3d" and so on and so forth. If you play doom vanilla or with some old schools port the levels all get the vider 'distorted'. Thats why in gzoom you can see 90 degree, so the '3d feel' is more realistic. But anyway, I always prefer the "quake style", with free look and all. :) (will check the maps you refer to, cheers)
I don't have ADHD 😆 Basically: I usually do these recordings in big sessions, so when recording this map it had been over a week since I played Struggle. I play other stuff in between though where chaingunners drop chainguns like usual, so I simply forgot that chaingunners drop the dualwield here. That, plus I'm just not too used to their sprite on the floor I guess so I didn't register it? In any case, not a matter of seeing it and losing focus: I simply never saw it in the first place. :D

That, plus I'm just not too used to their sprite on the floor I guess so I didn't register it?
In any case, not a matter of seeing it and losing focus: I simply never saw it in the first place. :D
