- Baba O'Riley by The Who | Acoustic cover | Nick Stephenson Music
This is quite possibly my favorite rock song of all time. It's pure adranalin and drama, simply what rock music is all about!
For years I never thought it'd work on an acoustic guitar but eventaully I coudn't resist giving it a go if only for the thrill of belting out those war crys like Roger Daltry and thrashing like a maniac like Pete Townsend but at the same time!
Utter madness. You're welcome
I hope you enjoy my cover
Much love
Nick xxx
This bro does not need any amps for his vocals. He just gets after it.
Thank you so much! I love howling this one out! It's a 'shout it from the fuckin rooftops!' kinda song right!? 😄For me, The Who are just incredible and so far beyond countless other rock bands before or since. Finally learning this felt like a rock n roll right of passage or something... TEENAGE WASTLAND!!
The guitar starts out ok - sounds good. And then you start belting out the vocals and it just takes off - the emotion - the feeling. Totally awesome! And then the guitar flourishes towards the end - brilliant! You did say it was your favourite rock song of all time. The Who would be proud!
Ahh this makes me smile ☺ thank you for your lovely comment!
Voice is quality 🙌🏻
🙌🏻Thank you so much! I appreciate you checking this out and taking the time to comment 😊🙏
Excellent once more Nick, Townsend is fantastic, full of energy, lots of theis songs are used in tv shows and advertisements, incredible band.
Thank you! Absolutely, Townsend is my biggest inspiration when it comes to the guitar, his playing is so exciting!
Bravo Nick👏👏👏. That was amazing !!!. You didn't smash your guitar up at the end though 😊.
Haha thanks Gary! It’s always tempting 😄 🎸 🔥

@@nickstephensonmusic Thanks alot bud appreciate that!! Keep rockin man and I subscribed to you too buddy. 🤘
Now your talking!! Now that's a cover, quality that
ahhh thank you so much! It's hard not to get into this song, I still find it to be the most impactful rock song of that era, just a powerhouse with incredible melodies😄
@@nickstephensonmusic It is a great song, but very rare a cover does a song of that magnitude justice because it's so hard to equal the original let alone surpass it. To do what you did on an acoustic guitar takes some doing, and your voice, absolutely class fella!! Get plenty stuff out there, you need to be heard
@@britannia079 it’s honestly these kind of encouraging comments and passionate backing that keep me going and wanting to make note content. There will be more! ☺️🙏
Very good, nice n lively!! what chords are you using please Nick
Thank you so much! I play the song using drop D tuning as it gives it a fuller sound and have the capo on third threat. The verse/ chorus chords are D, A and G. The G chord is played differently due to the de-tuning. So when playing the top E, rather than putting my finger on the 3rd threat and move it to the 5th. The ‘don’t cry’ breakdown section is A, D, A, D, G, A then back to the verse chords. Hope that’s helpful! I appreciate you watching my cover, thanks again 🎸☺️🎸
Thanks for Ur reply nick. Drop D is what caught me😀. Luv Ur version of bohemian rhapsody and a lot of Ur others aswel. U really get the best out an acoustic performance. I really enjoy Ur content, keep it up😊👏👏
@@killeensdaybreak5722 ahh that is great to know, I'll keep em coming for sure :) Happy to help! Thank you for the continued support, it means alot
