Lovely! The orangeish yellow, raspberry red and mauve really caught my eye, I think they're going into the cart. Also loved the jade green and beige. They have a light and dark olive greens, I find them prettier and more natural than the other ones you said you don't like.
@@iritlandgraf I wonder how you got the Raspberry red... I couldn't find it anywhere 😑 I wonder if it's discontinued? I ended up getting ruby red instead, hoping it won't be too far off 🤞
Thank you. I still am not totally sold on them. They are not as clever as the Neo color I's. But I’ll give them a try. Thank you so much for featuring them.
They ᗪO have the greens you'd like, Irit!! There's olive green, light olive green, moss green, olive brown- which just looks like a darker/warmer olive!❤︎
I'll definitely take a look. It's just that I have been using the neocolor I these days and have really neglected these so didn't think it was worth it to buy more, but they are a lovely product no doubt. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thank you Irit! Because of you I returned the neocolor 1 that just came (surprising huh?) and ordered a bunch of the neocolor 2 open stock! I appreciate that you helped me make a decision based on the way I paint even though it might not be exactly the way that you do! (Even though I love your florals and may try some soon!) I would like to see you use the neocolor 2 in a floral in the same way that you use watercolors! I saw someone putting down some of the color onto glass and then mixing it with other colors just as if it was a regular watercolor and it was really nice plus since you can create more colors that way, you are really stretching your palette. Thank you for a great demo!!💕
Thanks Donna! Glad it was helpful! Yes one could totally use them as watercolors but I have a large palette that is much easier to use in the way I like so it doesn't make sense for me to work harder to use the neocolor II as watercolors. Personally I really like using pastels as pastels, sketching directly on the paper 😀
I really love seeing them all together like this. The smallest set, which I tried and owned for some time, really put me off. Really awful colour selection, for me. I think I'll try the open stock neocolor 1 some day for a sketch adventure....
not used these, so this is very helpful, thank you. i have a couple of questions if i may: is there any granulation in any of the colours when water is added/brush is used - or are they more like inks? and after wetting and then drying, can the colours be reactivated/lifted - in a similar way to a standard watercolour?
Yeah I didn't love them. The formula was a bit too dry for me and I found it annoying to stick them in wells or pans. I'll stick to tubes, but it is the most economical option so perhaps worth seeing if it works for you!

Yup seems like a few enjoy their olive greens, will take a look next time I'm at the art store 😀

No idea! Mine are quite old so maybe it's discontinued 🤷♀️

My pleasure!
I wish Neocolor I had all these colours... except for Bismuth Green! 🤣 Thanks for swatching Irit
😂😂😂 My pleasure!
I agree these are brilliant colours in every way.
Thanks Jane!
I'd like to try mine on top of watercolor, dry and wet. I think they would be a fun addition.
❤️irit, much appreciated! I have owned this 84 set for ages, and have felt guilty, not using them more.
Hope you will take them out and play!

I just bought the smaller 15 set for now, I can buy more in the future :) they are lovely colours
Enjoy!
Thank you very much for doing this 🌺
My pleasure!
They look really creamy! And that is a plus for me
They are!

Glad it was helpful! These are rewettable, not permanent. No, no granulation.
Moss green!
👍👍😀
OMG! do these basically work like Daniel Smith watercolour sticks?! XD
I wouldn't say so. These are waxy and I'm not sure about pigment info. DS sticks are watercolor is stick form, so they shouldn't contain wax IMO.
@@iritlandgraf ahhh! i see, i guess i should buy one first to try and see if i like it before buying more. thank you Irit! :D
