    I worked as a diamond merchant in mines located in Venezuela and had the opportunity to buy about 4 rough diamonds in intense green and canary yellow. I remember that they weighed between 1.20 carats. They really are stones that dazzle when you look at them.

    Go ahead and spend $50,000 on an engagement ring, then try to sell that same ring back to a jewelry store. They will only give you 5% of the price you originally paid. Jewelry is one of the BIGGEST scams in modern time

    Keep in mind that diamonds in jewelry making is a relatively recent fashion. Before the early 19th century, jewelers relied on colored gemstones and pearls for their creations. Diamonds really got their boost in the 30s when DeBeers started the 'two months salary' for an engagement ring campaign.

    Now that us humans can make absolutely perfect diamonds of any size in a laboratory this industry will die out. Already in Australia the popularity of lab grown is taking over those being mined. We prefer the ones with no human suffering attached.

    • @jmash7751
      @jmash7751 9 місяців тому +3

      Human suffering in terms of those that illegally purchase blood diamonds is not acceptable. However, for the majority of those that work within the (professional) mining aspect of diamonds, it is employment, not suffering. The want of natural diamonds will never die out; however, the mindset of natural is better than lab, will take a generation or so to change. If I was wealthy and could afford a large stone, yes, I would prefer a natural. But I am not, and love my 1 carat Moissanite with its extra sparkle and far better affordability!

    • @Ivan_Magana

    • @taramay000
      @taramay000 9 місяців тому

      @@Ivan_Magana See that is what I have a problem with. To the naked eye they are the same. It’s simply human greed to have something unique that is destroying our planet and peoples lives. There is no need for natural diamonds any more.

      I know a lot of ppl don't know that manye of the channels like this ones doesn't make original content, like sending out filmmakers etc. So NO ONE get's pained for us watching these. it may even be ONE dude just giving us a GREAT service, giving everyone FREE documentaries.
      New or old is just random. Some aired on different tv-channels for instance, years ago.
      So, they are not trying to ''trick anyone'' by showing old docs.

    I watched a video about one of the biggest diamonds ever found in Kimberley. It was huge, with a pinkish hue, and way too big for any type of jewelry. Because it was record-setting, the company that owned it also didn't want to split it up.
    Last I saw of it was it getting wheeled into a hi=security vault for storage.
    Point is, how can you say this diamond is "worth" xx millions of dollars? All it does is sit in locked storage. Nobody will lend against it, few people would ever consider buying it. It serves no purpose. By extension, the same can be said of any diamond other than the ones that are being put to industrial uses. Other than that, diamonds have no value, or perhaps only to people who are attracted by shiny, glittering objects.

      It's called the Cullinan and was over 3,000 carats raw. It was D (perfect white in color), Flawless and the Cleaver spent years studying it before cleaving it. when the chisel broke he had a nervous breakdown. A year later his 2nd attempt was successful. The largest of many stones is in the Royal Scepter in the Crown Jewels of England. ❤ Search Cullinan 1, then 2 if interested.

      The dollar has also lost its value since 1971 when Nixon took it if the Gold Standard. It’s faith what is intrinsically instilled within the Volk so do diamonds, the marketing that de beers and Tiffany have done is already instilled in everyone’s mind. If you think of wealth in terms of stones you think of a diamond even though for example they can produce moissanites from thin air which cost a fraction of a diamond.

    It is possible to admire men who work the land to produce food. It is also possible to respect men who work in factories to produce necessary and useful things. The men who maintain the electrical network, remove the city's trash and repair damage to the water distribution pipes are worthy of applause and high consideration. Lawyers, engineers, doctors, dentists, mechanics, bricklayers, etc... carry out important tasks that people in general cannot do alone. But the men who exploit popular credulity, the pastors and sorcerers, are weeds that produce nothing good and make a profit by spreading poison. And those who trade in diamonds and other shiny things are despicable. Diamonds feed people's vanity and cupidity, deforming the character of those who buy them to corrupt those who will be gifted. The diamond trade also drives many people crazy who cannot afford such valuable objects. Wherever a new diamond mine emerges, civil and foreign wars fomented and financed by precious stone dealers soon occur.

      Diamonds have a cleavage where if you hit it in the right spot it could easily break or chip and something hard like diamonds can still be brittle.
      It’s really not too hard to scratch the polish off a diamond so don’t go scratching your diamond

    • @Greenchilieboss
      @Greenchilieboss 21 день тому

      They are pretty durable and they are the hardest substance in the world that's why they use diamonds and industrial machines because they can cut through anything durability-wise if you slam a diamond against a wall with all of your strength and your body it wouldn't put the slightest scratch or even crack in it
      But it's weird because sometimes they do chip it's just weird man All I know is I've seen people put a diamond underneath a hydraulic press and the diamond just gets embedded into the steel doesn't smash it all

    • @duncan8437
