Whoever created this anthem is utterly genius for me. After so many years at the States and in my homeland as well, being 40 now in London a low profiler musician myself, yet I havent been able to find some similar talented partner. I remember back in Athens listening to this as a teenager, still gives me goosebumps.
Are you a fan of Leisure Process as well? The lead singer of this band, Ross Middleton, left Positive Noise to form Leisure Process, which only lasted about 18 months.
@@ajs41 Ross was my best pal and band mate, broke my heart when he left. We always felt this was a weaker song kind of inspired by ska. I cant believe the speedy tempo but I was 20 years old- I miss the intro a bit. Towels on the snare and card board for cymbals. The effect is a fire extinguisher. An older experienced me would have told the producer where to go. It's so popular on you tube I now know this should have been a single I'm ,going for coffee with Russell tomoz
@@lesgaff9203 Les my old friend, I’m still out there. So many happy memories listening to this again. Now that I’m old and can be objective, I think the Poz were actually a pretty damn good group. Better than fecking Orange Juice anyway 😅!!! Those nights at the Doune Castle and the Bungalow Bar… Please keep in touch mate, we have so many memories to exchange.
I had this album and their next "Change of Heart" back in the day, great band. I got to see them live too, first when they opened for Depeche Mode at the Lyceum, then when they played with Toyah at the Hammersmith Odeon. They were on a great record label too (hi Sophie!).
Can't believe I've never heard this before... such a great sound like early XTC, New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen, some of the other UK bands from the very early 80s. I'll definitely have to check out more.
I think that's Russell Blackstone who went on to become the lead singer of Positive Noise in 1982 after Ross Middleton left the group to form Leisure Process.
"Heart of darkness", a masterpiece from post-punk era

Are they for real? I thought they were mythology....the drummer? Where is he now? Please.....he must be teaching the world

the thing is after listening to this a hundred times, where do you go from here hmm ...nothing seems to feel right, an amazing track!!!!!!!!
You go to "A Way You'll Never Be" by Leisure Process in my opinion. Same lead singer as Positive Noise, Ross Middleton.
First time I have ever heard Positive Noise, this is a very wild fun song 🎶
Their album Change Of Heart from 1982 is pretty interesting IMO, especially the tracks that sound similar to Tears Are Not Enough by ABC.

Hell! this takes me back! I've not heard this since about 1981. Thanks for uploading!
read a comment on here before saying that sound at 0:21 is a fire extinguisher. pretty darn rad. great song, great album!
I love the synth riff in this song. Great bassline as well.
It’s like a ton of little kittens meowing in the studio I’m in love with it
